Brilliant overnight back for further away trips
3 or 4 times a year, I'm required to go away for work, involving flights across Europe. I'm fed up of lugging a wheeled case and as ridiculous as it sounds, always struggled slightly with the anxiety knowing the possibility the airline will inevitably request you put said wheeled carry-on in the hold, delaying the journey. So I figured I would get a backpack. I also purchased the Osprey liquid bag to match. First thing to note, is the quality of the bag in general and particularly the robust zips. It's comfortable on my back, the adjustable / moveable front strap is helpful to take pressure off the shoulders and the meshed back padding prevents your back from overheating. Yes, there are cheaper alternatives, however, you tend to get what you pay for and in this instance, it's an incredibly well thought out design that allows you to put everything to hand, organised. This has a top pocket perfect for keys, passport, small electronic devices like power banks, earphones, headphones amp etc. With individual pockets within, designed to hold them in place so they don't fall out when opening, very useful for when you're at security. Also, side pockets for gloves, hats, water etc. Another larger front pocket, which I found perfect for the liquids bag, again, so you can pull it out quickly at security. a rear laptop bag, which doesn't necessarily fit the power adapter, however, this went in the larger front pocket. Bearing in mind I used this most recently to travel to Germany, in the depths of winter (under lots of snow) The main compartment fitted, shoes, all clothes, a shirt, suit jacket with the room required on the way back for a very large pair of military boots and the previous days clothes. I'm confident, outside of work, in summer and with only the requirements for shorts, t-shirts, trousers and a jumper in case, I could probably get a week's worth of clothes in here and have a hassle-free trip at the airports. It was commented on by my colleagues how I appeared to be travelling so light with only one bag, yet still managed to look the smartest the next day with a suit and smart shoes that no one was expecting me to be carrying alongside everything else such as notebooks, laptop etc. Without the military boots on the return, it just squeezed under British airways seats, on the return, it went overhead with no issues. I'm so impressed with the brand, I'll likely buy a smaller pack for same day travelling and a Bergen for multiple day camping.

The cadillac of under seat bags.
I have a couple Osprey bags and consider the Hikelite 18 to be the best active lifestyle daybag, full stop. Unfortunately it's too long to meet the under-seat 40cmx30cmx20cm limit of the most strict budget airlines. Among travelling consultants, the daylite travel has the reputation as the cadilac of carry ons, and I can happily say it exceeds expectations. This bag is perfect for one bag under seat travel. Happily meets RyanAir's strict size limits (even when slightly overpacked) and has tons of thoughtful design features. Secure internal zips, internal key lanyard, expandable frame, breathable back section, adjustable straps, and zippers which fit carabiner locks for travel to more unsavoury locations where pickpockets roam about. The quality is as to be expected from Osprey - exceptional throughout. Zips are sturdy and secure with the outer synthetic fibre being slightly rain resistant and tear proof. Mesh water bottle pockets on both sides and luggage straps on two sides with a sliding pocket for putting onto a suitcase handle. Osprey once again leading the pack when it comes to justifiably high price and high quality bags. Would wholeheartedly and enthusiastically recommend.

Plenty of organised compartments for water bottles, gadgets, and essentials, and the back panel and straps are well-padded for all-day comfort. Durable construction and high-quality materials mean it can handle frequent use without wearing down. A reliable pack that combines practicality with style.

Perfect backpack for traveling
I am a big fan of the Osprey products. This backpack is simply amazing. The quality is great, it is very spacious and it is very convenient as you can expand it and you get extra 6 liters. The fabric is durable and I love that it has a laptop compartment. The only downside is that the laptop compartment isnโt separated/doesnโt have a designated pocket, but overall the backpack is great. I keep recommending it to all of my friends.

Genuinely a bit special in yellow
I recently took a family of 4 to India with an array of hang luggage-sized Osprey bags to avoid having a large suitcase to lug around small taxis and trains etc. This approach also helps as progressively packing and getting out of hotels is less stressful than having a single suitcase. This expandable bag delivered a number of things that I liked about it: 1. The yellow colour is much darker and more subdued than it appears in product photography, but you can always see it, remember to pick it up, spot your partner in a crowd and feel relaxed that it hasnt been keft behind etc. The fact it is darker than advertised means it doesnt look too garish as a day bag, and in hotel lobbies etc. Yes, you look like a tourist, but not like a scumbag. 2. The size prior to expansion is a good size for a petite wife to handle. 3. The expansion was eminently useful once we had stocked up on souvenirs etc. It is in a useful direction and the bag becomes deceptively large. 4. As you can see with my obsessive purchasing of Osprey bags, it is just very well made. It looks and feels very good. 5. I preferred this bag over the 44 litre black Daylite rucksack in the same range, which was flappy and unstructured and really is just a roll-on suitcase substitute. This also has little structure to it per se, but the smaller size allows it to keep its shape to a greater degree. I'd be happier using this 26L bag for a work trip, for example. 6. The bottle pockets add greatly to the versatility. 7. The ventillated back panel is of greater use in a daypack in tropical climate than it perhaps seems. I'd still prefer a fully netted back for a daypack, like the black Deuter which was our primary day pack. But when we needed a second day pack as we knew we'd be shopping, the vents made this pack more than a viable option. The chief drawback of this pack is that it is not hugely technical. There are limited pockets and internal wizardry. But its a pack thats in the daylite range, so thats kind of the point of it. The external zipped pockets on the front/top are somewhat useless in my view. Quite challenging to get your hands into once the bag is fully packed, not suitable for frequent use. The other Osprey bag I'd totally recommend is the satchel / handbag shown. That thing is a game changer for a man on holiday. Absolutely loved it. The bottle pocket and other pockets make it especially useful, a great bit of design in that bag. Although perhaps Im just a man discovering how useful handbags are to women. But that bag further cements my appreciation of Osprey's design. Final comment, look at the weight of the zips that Osprey use. Makes such a difference to the use, feel and longevity. Theyre always just that bit heavier than everyone elses. Buy it.

Pros and Cons but Happy Overall. I like the medium size.
Pretty happy with the bag, been indecisive about it for a while but the size is good for many European airlines if you don't pack it to the max (wizzair and Easyjet I tested) and definitely safe as a proper carryon. Some cons: - the bottle pockets seem to lose my bottle a lot, I've attached a carrabiner onto the compression strap to solve this (as I don't like doing it up all the time), -no waist belt (I bought a ยฃ5 attachment from Vaude which works perfectly). - no hidden side pockets for passport for example (the top front pocket is nice, but the lower one is kind of too deep without any visability, to save losing things I actually put my little herschel sling bag there (top open) and store things bag in bag which works well. Pros: - seems very high quality, especially at this price point, I have no doubt in the zippers. - comfortable to carry (and I have a bad shoulder so that's saying something) I haven't packed it super heavy but then I would use a different bag for that kind of load. -good size- like I said, works for most airlines as 'personal item' but all as carry on. Can travel with it for a month but also doesn't look out of place as an every day bag- fits all my gym and daily stuff in it. Love th suitcase style opening.

A great travelling companion
I bought this item, as my existing cheap backpack gave up the ghost after several years (zips failed). My wife advised that I should replace with a more robust and quality alternative. After rafts of research, I decided upon this particular backpack and whilst initially hesitant due to the cost, having received and used the backpack, both for an overnight stay (UK) and a 6 day short break (Europe) I can say that I am very impressed and happy with my purchase. The backpacks materials and build are robust and look and feel quality and as a result, it looks like it will last. It is very lightweight and comfortable, even when fully packed and I had no issues with discomfort whilst travelling with it. The backpack also fit perfectly under the seat on the aeroplane I recently travelled on and has a good selection of pockets for various items outside of the main storage compartment, the ability to expand this part of the backpack also came in handy to accommodate the extra bits and bobs I picked up during my trip. As stated, I am very pleased with this item and look forward to getting many years of service from it and as a result would not hesitate to recommend.

Stylish and Practical
Worth every penny both visually and practically. Much more convenient for air travel than a classic backpack, with a smart design and great overall quality. Very happy with it.

Best travel bag
This is my favourite travel bag that I have tried. Easy access to multiple pockets and no digging to the bottom of the bag to find my stuff. Feels like great quality and lightweight too.

Good quality product
Bag seems durable and of good quality product. I also like that it has a slot for luggage handle. Slight downsize if I would prefer a colour such as red, maroon.
