xTool Black Laser Marking Spray, 8.5 oz High Contrast Permanent Black Markings for CO2, Fiber, and Diode Laser Engravers

I own several xtool lasers (co2 and diode). I wanted to find a cheaper alternative to other marking sprays and was hopeful this marking spray would fit the bill at a lower price point. I’m happy to share that my initial tests have me pretty happy! I included a couple of photos for comparison. The stainless steel cup was engraved using a 55w co2 laser. The mark is solid, dark, and has a consistent look from different angles. The washers show a blue diode engraving on an unprepared surface. The settings were identical. The darker lettering and dragon were with the spray. The tag, which was a more complicated test was done using a sonogram on a stainless steel tag using a 10w diode. I did need to make two passes, which slowed things down a little, but it was still done in under 9 minutes with a 10w laser. All in all, I’m pretty happy. My only dislike is that the can built up a bit of back pressure. It may have been user error, as I hadn’t cleaned the nozzle. It’s become a bit clogged. On a new can I’ve been inverting and spraying out the extra like I do with the competitor can. So far it seems fine.

Only down side to this product is the cost but after you use it, you won't mind at all. I have helped my bottom line in my makers markets by planning what areas are to be marked then only covering them with just a light coat. Its easy to use more than is needed, so test and find the sweet spot for your needs then blow people away with your creativity and products!! Two Thumbs Up -- Strongly Recommend!

I used the spray only a couple of times and the spray nozzle started to leak. Everytime i use it, it leaked on my hand and sprays globs on my projects. I tried contacting Xtool through Amazon and did not get any communication back from them. I tried returning the can but it just refers you to contact Xtool. I feel like I just threw 32.00 out door. Don't buy this product! Update: Xtool contacted me about the leaking spray can. They were very apologetic and offered to refund my money or send a replacement. I accepted replacement and am pleased with the new Black Laser Marking can. Thanks to Xtool customer service for replacing.

At first it did not work. But after getting a replacement product and talking with customer service the product work perfectly.

Product arrived on time, Dec 10th 2024. Went to use product today, Jan 24th 2025, and the can is empty. It was a failure of the crimp around the top spray nozzle, and the charge leaked out. For $38, I expected better quality out of 8.5 oz, and a useable product UPDATED REVIEW: xTool customer service reached out to me about the issue. They offered to replace or refund the product. I chose to get a replacement, and it was shipped expeditiously to me. It is as described, and I am very pleased how fast xTool made it right. I will definitely buy xTool products again. I purchased this item for engraving on stainless steel! I used it 2 times and put the can on the work bench for later use, a week later I started working on more stainless steel cups and the spray can had leaked out all of its fluid! This item worked great but it is too expensive to use and only be able to do 2 Small engravings.

Easy on, fast drying and burns dark gray, but not black with 10W xtool F1. Chromed stainless steel looks great and doesnt rub off. From spray on time to start engraving less that 5 minutes. Excess wipes right off with microfiber cloth or rinse off with water. One coat is usually enough for most jobs. Which means it will last a while, before you have to reorder.

This marking spray works well, I have only tried it a couple of times but it did as advertised and my project was a success! Clean up was easy as well.
