Kingdom Come: DC Compact Comics Edition

I have purchased several of these for my adult son. He is an avid collector of graphic novels and has lots of them. The compact size of these, make them a lot easier to store and hold whilst reading them. I purchased some for Christmas gifts for him and he has purchased several himself. They are well made and great value for money, would recommend them for all, men and kids alike.

I really enjoyed Kingdom Come. The biblical parallels give the story real weight, and the art captures that sense of myth perfectly. The depiction of Green Lantern as a kind of cosmic knight is brilliant, and the complex relationship between Wonder Woman and Superman adds real emotional depth as they clash over how to lead and what kind of world they want to build. An older, reclusive Batman watching from the shadows ties it all together perfectly. The art is absolutely gorgeous, with some panels feeling more like Renaissance paintings than comic panels, full of light, texture, and symbolism. It is a powerful, mature take on superheroes that feels both timeless and deeply human.

Good Story dc version of civil war very good

The content is very good. However, this edition is very small and consequently you have to squint to read the text and many of the panels are too small to work out. Altogether it’s hard going. A larger edition would be better.
