Works well but probably not made in the USA
This is a cool little mouse mover. My company laptop will lock and log me out of important software after 5 minutes and I’m not supposed to plug in any external USB devices. This hardware-only solution is great so if I run to the bathroom, take a phone call, or grab a quick bite to eat I don’t get logged out. Based on the limited instructions and how they are written I have a really hard time believing this is made in the USA. It’s pretty quiet but usually only in use if I am stepping away for a few minutes or on the phone. The center ring alternates between clockwise and counterclockwise rotation and moves for about 1-4 seconds which makes the movement seem pretty random. I did a test to understand how the buttons work since the instructions are not specific at all. Button 1 on the left is the power button. Press to power on/off or press and hold to change the color ring around the edge from blue to red to green. Every time you power it off it will reset back to blue. Button 2 on the right is the timer button and will cycle from green (no timer) to blue (2hrs) to red (1hr). Every time you power it off it will reset back to green (no timer). Button 3 on the far right changes the frequency of movement and will cycle from green (60s) to blue (30s) to red (10s). Powering off the device does not reset this setting, when you turn it back on it remembers the interval you selected. Overall it’s great, it’s pretty sleek and attractive looking, and is a great analog solution to prevent your computer from locking. It does not make your mouse click, and although the movement seems pretty random and the length of movement varies a little, the intervals are really consistent so if you are trying to trick someone into thinking you’re working, it would be very easy to tell you move your mouse once every minute, 30 seconds, or 10 seconds. It would be cool if the timer would randomly move it at varying intervals to make it more natural, but that’s not my use case so it’s 5 stars for what I use it for.

Great device and support
I love this device. Works great for when you need to step away for a bit and not have to worry. Doesn’t take up too much space in my opinion and is easy to use. I have had this for about a year and when I had a technical problem I was able to contact Tech 8 so easily and run through troubleshooting and ultimately when we realized I had a unicorn of a problem I was able to get a replacement approved. Amy was the best support!

Works as expected.
Great item, USA quality product. Repeat buyer, older version had toggle on cord, this is now on device /w an additional speed control. Allows you to keep working session up (great when monitoring statuses and not going idle) while multitasking between projects.

It works! How did I live so long without it?
What do I like? It works!! Now the only time my screen times out is when I forget to put the mouse on the pad :-) »» The movement pattern varies with the particular selection. I bought the one with a "fingerprint" pattern because it looks cool. However, the cursor gets stuck in the upper left corner of the screen. It still jiggles, but it's not very convincing. »» I made a screen capture of the "psychedelic blue" pattern, printed and cut it out, then glued it with rubber cement to the "turntable" of the device. Works great, and the cursor roams all over the screen. I don't think it would pass a Turing test, as most of the motions are long swipes from 10-oclock to 4-oclock (upper left to lower right) about every 5 to 15 seconds. But once in a while the device mixes it up with long horizontal swipes or little jiggles. »» I don't know how the other two patterns would fare. As I'm satisfied with "psycho-blue" I'm not going to bother to find out. »» I have it powered by an old phone charger. Manufacturer says there's no data connector in the supplied USB cable -- which should mean the device cannot be detected by the PC. But I'm a "belt-and-suspenders" person, and also I might mess up some day and plug in a cable with a data wire. »» Some reviewers have written that it's noisy. Mine is only 2 weeks old, but so far it's been quiet as a mouse ;-). I will update this review if that changes. »» I'm using a corded optical mouse. I've tested it with a wireless optical mouse and that works, too. But I doubt that an "old-school" trackball style mouse would work very well. »» This device is 100% isolated from the computer. No device driver, no software to install, nothing, nada. It's "plug and spin". »» Recommended? Yes. (As in, how did I survive without it before???) What don't I like? »» The pad is big (5¼ x 3½ inches), so it's big enough for any mouse I've ever had. But my current mouse is much smaller, and I'd like a "Junior" size version so that it takes up less of my precious desk space. »» It's also fairly tall at 1½ inches »» It needs to sit on a level surface. Otherwise the cursor will end up getting stuck somewhere on the screen. Not sure whether that will lead to failure of the jiggle algorithm or not.

Does exactly what it needs to do
I have only been able to use this for the past two days at work but so far it has worked flawlessly and exactly as expected. My work computer automatically goes into sleep mode after 15 minutes of inactivity which is cumbersome to say the least. This keeps my computer active. I like that it has three timer modes though any one of them would work for my use. Couldn't ask for anything more.

Great easy to use helper
This is perfect! There is nothing worse than sitting in a video meeting and have your computer lock for inactivity. Then you have to hurry & type in that 12+ character password. All the while praying no one calls on you because you can't unmute. I plug it in and sit my mouse on it and no more stressing out. It works while I'm reading documents and listening to recordings. Easiest gadget I've ever used & so worth the money. Highly recommend.

my office system has system lock for every 1 min 30 sec, thanks to this i can stop moving mouse very often. but it is hard to place this near keyboard and then keep this down when back to work, maybe good to keep if someone has big size computer table
