Little Black Classics Box Set: Collectible box 80 Penguin Classics | Timeless Short Stories and Essays from Literary Greats

I started looking for one book and bought the whole box set instead. And I have to say that I am just delighted at the mere sight of this wonderful collection of 80 different types of works of 80 well-known authors. I was a little skeptical because the reviews on Amazon.com, but i must that, my experience has been entirely different. 1. I received properly packed, not-at-all torn from any side box set. 2. The quality of books is great. The size, as apparent from the dimension of independent books, is a little smaller, as justified by the name 'little black classic', than that of the usual Penguin Classics. 3. All books are for keeps. This is one of my best purchases ever. Even though some titles may not interest me right now, I am still looking forward to exploring each one of them, as rest assured, these are all acclaimed works and loved by a variety of people across the world. So, I've attached a few screenshots that give you an idea about 1. How it looks 2. What are the contents 3. The size as compared to a normal Penguin Classic (E.g. Three Men in a Boat. It goes without saying that this book is not a part of the box set and is only used for comparison)

It's worth your money

One of my favourite things that I own. It is helpful to improve reading habit. The range of authors is amazing.

Great collection. Has 80 books. I have no issues with the number of books of and no book was repeated. However, it could have had been aesthetically more pleasing if all the Penguins were aligned. Also, there is some packing damage like the corners of the larger box for folded and some books also got little damaged near the spine. For that alone, I am giving it 4 stars. For all other reasons, it is a great buy.

Well.. My cup is full and overflowing with love for the collection that stands pretty on my case. I must express my gratitude for the penguins for this fantastic crazy and yet a colorful idea of presenting a microcosm of world literature. Its an awesome collection for any book lover especially a dedicated life long student of literature. The packaging was great and it arrived a day early- amazon signature. I loved the care and love for the books that went into packing and delivering this treasure. The mere sight of this collection induces poetry and reminds me of the worthy pursuits in life. If you are looking to buy- wise thing to do! Go for it and enjoy the pleasure of reading and owning one of the envy inducing collection. Thank you Amazon.

Got only 4 books, instead of 80 books set. This is so disappointing!!! I need the exchange, send the whole book set

I think it was a resell or at least someone had returned it and then it got packed again and poorly. The box was damaged, excessive use of tapes to keep it firm and prevent collapsing of the box - some of the books were turned, and some(4) were taped over the box. I have no complaints with the books and it is a nice collection but the product I received was mostly repacked with damaged packaging.

Great price. Was after this box set but did not want to fork out the £180.00 on Waterstones got this cheap and all titles included. Very happy with the purchase looks lovely on my shelf with my other classics. Only minor default is the spines don’t match up exactly with the penguin logo but this is a manufacturing thing with all the box sets.

This has 80 tiny books and I don’t recognise most of the titles

Incredible value, curated literary education in a box.

This book contains literally everything. The first book I read was Buddhist scripture where I was encouraged to give up strong emotions and attachments to the world. The next was renaissance Italian fiction about a guy who gets ripped off by a hooker and then becomes a grave robber. You will not be bored with this series. Some of the books are not for everyone but that's to be expected.
