Tarot Deck

I love these tarot cards. I remember when I first saw them, I fell in love with the pen illustrations. The images are done mostly in black and white, with little splashes of color on certain cards. The texture of the cards is very smooth, with a matte finish. The card stock is excellent, so these cards will last for many, many years. In my opinion, this is some of the best card stock that I have ever felt in a tarot card. As far as readings are concerned, the cards have been spot on each time I've used them. You can literally feel the energy in each tarot card, so this deck is actually good for beginners. Some of the cards do a have a little bit of dark imagery, but it doesn't really bother me. The cards do not come with the guide book, but it can be purchased for $20 from The Wild Unknown Tarot website. I highly recommend this deck to anyone that is on the fence about purchasing this deck. You won't regret it.

This deck carries none of the actual meaning of the cards. Very few of the cards correspond to the astrological or qabalistic associations that they are meant to. To create your own tarot deck can be an incredibly rewarding experience, which is commendable. But to say that this IS a tarot deck isn't fair. Its a card set with one particular artist's very personal interpretation of the tarot. As an art project its great, but as a usable deck for readers other than the artist its pointless. If you're just learning tarot, this deck is especially not for you.

I love Kim’s animal spirit guid book but the tarot deck is pretty lame. The deck is nicely designed but the book accompanied with the deck has over simplified descriptions of cards that leave a lot of important information out. For those who are not experienced with tarot and heavily rely on the book for guidance with the card meanings, IMHO there are many better options out there.
