Hobbo: The Autobiography of David Hobbs: Motor Racer, Motor Mouth [Hobbs, David W, Marriott, Andrew] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Hobbo: The Autobiography of David Hobbs: Motor Racer, Motor Mouth Review: excellent book - David Hobbs writing style is much like his TV commentary - smooth, easy and occasionally humorous. He doesn't portray himself as an all-time great, just as a versatile driver who had a long and fairly successful career. The photos are excellent, many apparently from his private collection. If you like racer biographies, this is a must-buy! Review: Got it for a gift - I found this for a friend for a gift and they enjoyed it very much. I did sneak a quick look and thought it was an interesting book.

He has so much wit that whatever he wrote would have been fun to read
Very enjoyable read about Hobbs' life. He has so much wit that whatever he wrote would have been fun to read, but while this is an easy and fun read, there are enough racing insights for we motorheads.

Hobbo was one of the most durable and competitive drivers across a range of motosports
I watched Hobbs drive when I was a teenager at Laguna Seca.. He was a fixture in CanAm and other race groups loved his wit when he was broadcasting F1 races around the globe, wish he and Varsha would get something together

Hobbo, you are fantastic!
Having had the privledge to meet Davis Hobbs in the old garage building at Road America in 1970 after his practice/qualifying in the rain in his year old blue and puce green McClaren M8 (where he was as fast at the McClaren Team cars) along with Oscar Kovelesky, Jacky Stewart, Peter Revson, Jim Hall, et. al. was a memory this then teenager will never forget. I've followed Hobbs career (off and on) ever since through Can-AM, F5000, F1 and other series he raced in. I REALLY miss him on the current F! TV coverage as his comments were always insightful and often humorous (Kablammo!) Great book celebrating a true driving legend! Pictures bring back soooooo many memories.

I had seen some mixed reviews for this book but although expensive it was about 'my' period of personalities & motor racing so I 'pushed the boat out' & bought & I am so glad that I did. I seem to be throwing 5 stars around like confetti at the moment but without a doubt this is the best book covering this era which I have ever read (sorry Brian Redman). In the past I have complained about too much focus on this or that in similar autobiographies to the exclusion of other aspects of their lives but in 'Hobbo' I think that there is the perfect blend of personal life, professional life & strong opinions (both good & bad) on those he has encountered along the way, all of which are recounted with great humour. There are many, many great photographs reproduced on high quality paper but rather than pad out the narrative, in my opinion they add to it. Looks like a coffee table book but in my opinion is so much more. As you can probably guess I simply loved it.

If you are familiar with the TV Hobbs you'll feel like you're having a chat with him. Great book.

Very enjoyable read, there wasn’t much this guy didn’t race. He raced all over the world in the 60s and 70s when it was proper racing Very much a family man & one of life’s achievers!
