Can I do simple cardio workouts on this mat? Ie. high knees, jumping jacks, etc.

Yes and no. I use my mat over carpet so it feels in that case it could be a trip hazard. But if you’re on a solid floor it would work great. Keep in mind this mat feels thicker than other yoga mats I’ve used before.

Is this grippy like rubber is grippy?

No, it is not grippy like that.
