The Beacons Of Somewhere Somet

NOT sure why this album has not been reviewed yet! These guys are in my top 5 progressive rock bands out there these days. Seems as though they get better with each new record (this is their 4th). All songs are well written with outstanding instrumentation which last in the 5 to 9 minute range of time. Vocals are supreme! The band's a SIEGES EVEN spinoff (Lead singer and guitarist). Seems like all my favorite bands are from "Across the pond" or north of the border (MYSTERY). I could go through each song, but no need; just purchase it and you will see and HEAR!

I love this band, such good musicianship and songwriting. Heavy, beautiful, melodic. This album is all of those things, and melancholy. I wish it was mixed differently; the vocals aren't prominent enough most of the time, which is a pity because Arno's sining is really great.

It's ok, a little light, but the only Subsignal CDs worth buying are Touchstones, and then, this one. It's pleasing from start to finish, so I found it worth a buy, considering that most bands can't even make a complete CD pleasing from start to finish now a days.

I expected more from this fine group. Decent music for the most part. Unhappy with the mix as it seems as if the bass and lower midrange drowns out ant crisp treble throughout the recording...

This is their 4th record, and arguably their best effort. The quality of songwriting and production is up there with the last couple of Sieges Even albums. I always felt that the rhythm section in the earlier albums were not on par with the mighty Holzwarth brothers of Sieges Even. This album shows a huge improvement in that department over the previous ones. The harmonious Steffen & Menses duo have been very consistent over the last decade, and they created one of the best progressive rock/metal albums of 2015.
