Icybox IB-AC6031-U3 Adapter Cable for 2.5 inch SATA Solid State Drive

Have got a couple of these and find them far more useful and resilient than the rigid metal caddies, mainly because the adaptor and cable are a single moulded piece rather than a detachable (aka losable) cable plugged into a flimsy socket. The cushioning provided by the caddy is also a source of comfort when transporting large amounts of valuable data. Tip: wiggle the adaptor in past the elastic sides so that it is the other end of the caddy to that shown in the product photos (i.e. the end opposite the flap) with the lead dangling out; the whole thing then becomes more robust as the drive connection is firmly supported by the solid part of the caddy and yet swapping disks is still as simple as opening the flap and sliding them in or out...

Very handy for changing drives - I use it with my ssd for quickly storing large amounts of data via usb 3. best throughput I've managed to get is around 270MB/s. The only negative is that it can be a little bulky.

Very handy to use with an old 2.5 hdd that is now a very useful external.

Exactly what I needed

Had a larger 2.5" drive (15mm thick) that wouldn't fit any other portable usb 3.0 enclosure and this fitted the bill perfectly. Good quality product and good performance, cable was a bit short hence only 4 stars.

We've had one of these for a few years now. It's very handy for ad hoc USB connection of 2.5" HDDs pulled from PCs. The connector works well. Many other USB cases have quite poorly made connectors (even some by Icy Box). No screws or case bits to worry about: just clip the interface onto the HDD (SATA only - no IDE version), slide it into the elasticated leatherette wallet and flip the velcro top over to secure it. I'd recommend it.

Ormai uso da anni questo prodotto, ne ho acquistati vari. E' perfetto per me perchè permette di sostituire rapidamente l'HDD, inoltre è leggero e non mi ha mai dato problemi. In caso di caduta del disco però non lo protegge molto.

Diese Hülle/Tasche ist sehr praktisch, weil sie sich mit den Gummibändern an den Seiten gut der tatsächlichen Dicke der Disk anpasst. Einige Disks, speziell ab 1TB sind über 9mm dick, so dass sie in die Slim Gehäuse nicht mehr rein passen. Handhabung sehr einfach: 1 Disk in die Tasche stecken 2 Adapter aufstecken 3 Tasche mit Klettverschluss schließen ACHTUNG: Beachten dass dabie der Stecker nicht verkantet oder geknickt wird- 4 USB Kabel anschließen 5 Warten bis das Betreibssystem die Disk erkannt hat. Ein kleiner Nachteil ist doch vorhanden: Es ist eigenlich eine TASCHE und KEIN Gehäuse. Daher ist die Wärmeableitung naturgemäß schlechter, als bei einem Metallgehäuse. Bei heftiger oder längerer Belastung sollte man also auf die Temperatur der Disk achten. Dann kannn es angebracht sein, die DIsk "im Freien" zu betreiben. BITTE: Nur im Stillsatnd bewegen!!!! Aber auch dafür super praktisch.

Boitier très simple d'utilisation et pour le Switch de HDD c'est vraiment pratique . Le boitier et solide et bonne connectique . Le plus c'est l'USB 3.0 , y a de bon taux de transfère . J'en suis content c'est vraiment un boitier sérieux .

Le câble est court, mais l'échange de disque est ultra simple et rapide. La protection est tout de même suffisante et d'un esthétique correcte.
