Works absolutely fine - but Tado's Customer service is appalling. Refusing to replace faulty devices although it is clearly a build quality problem, claiming that this is "Not covered by our warranty" - even after I sent photographs of a smart TRV basically falling apart..

I bought the Tado to allow me to remotely control the aircon in my kitchen (a Daikin unit) and to enable me to keep an eye on temperature and humidity in the house while my lodger is in charge. Connection to my Wi-Fi was straightforward, matching the unit to my aircon was a little more fiddly, but no real problem. In use, the unit runs cold indicating that very little power is being consumed. Control via the iPhone app is entirely straightforward, and if I choose to use this function, the system comes on when I am about quarter of a mile from home. Adjustment of this distance would be useful. Overall I'm very pleased with the system and coming home to a warm house is a great comfort on cold damp winter days. I look forward to the promised HomeKit integration.

If you're a fan of the Tado devices, you'll find this one a slight disappointment. It requires power, has no built in battery so that limits the flexibility and positioning unlike the other devices. Functionality-wise it operates well, controlling the temperature well with the usual geo-fencing etc. It can also use your a/c to heat as well as cool (if your a/c unit supports that). Overall I think it's an overpriced, slightly less flexible device but a somewhat worthy addition. I don't understand why it couldn't have used batteries though hence the lower rating.

The idea is great and when it works, it is fantastic. Setup was easy, but Tado failed to recognise my air con has fan speeds. The reason for the poor review is that the device regularly fails to respond to touches or is very slow. Sometimes you can tap several times and nothing will happen and then the unit will rapidly spin round the menu system like it is trying to catch up. Shame the unit requires a USB cable rather than using batteries like Tado’s other kit. Possibly a faulty unit so returning to Amazon for a replacement. UPDATE: V1 vs V2 While returning the V1 unit I decided to upgrade to a V2 in the hope that the touch interface might have been improved, so got the chance to try them out side by side for a few days. The two units are absolutely indentical. They have the same part number and behave in exactly the same way. So maybe the software is different? Nope, not a jot of difference I can spot here either. To quote Tado on Twitter (9th May 2018) responding to Jake asking "what is the difference to the V1 hardware?"... "The Smart AC Control V2 has: -Smart Climate Assistant (geofencing, weather adaptation, smart schedule) - Energy Savings Report - 100 Days Energy Savings Guarantee (ESG) - Thermostatic Control - Climate Report in Mobile App - New and improved installation (faster and easier)" ... well yes V2 does have all the above, but comparing them side by side, so does the V1. Installation was identical. More baffling, I can't find anything around weather adaptaion on either version. The V2 does come with the Engery savings guarantee. So there you have it, £30 extra for an energy savings guarantee. Also, buried deep on the tado website, they advise NOT to touch the device as it is powering up as it interferes with calibration. Can't say I've noticed any differernce. However, touching with two fingers rather than one seems to work better. I'd love to hear from Tado on what the difference really is.

Despite good customer service and clear intent to provide a good customer experience, they did not manage to muster A/C controls. They do not cover all available controls and the system works or does not totally unpredictably. Practically speaking, it is useless.

very friendly app! you need to carefully perform the setup. I have placed the device at a location that it has "direct" visibility with two air condition units , and I am managing a greater portion of the office with the device. It works impeccably!

Everything works well with my Panasonic Aircon. However the missing star is because I couldn’t home area properly because the map requires an address which always lead somewhere else when keyed in. The home location should be registerable with just the movable pin on the map. It would also be amazing if it could support fan and swing features in the future. Having a button in the app just to manually blast out signals helps as well.

J'ai acheté un pour mon inverter de la cuisine. L'installation était un peu longue car je voulais passer par la programmation manuelle de l'émetteur. Trois utilisateurs et plein des solutions de programmation pour couvrir tous les états. Je conseille à tous ceux qui veulent faire un effort pour la planète. La clim je l'utilise pas mais je me chauffe avec et ça fonctionne à merveille. J'estime l'amortissement à deux ou trois ans si c'est programmé correctement. Trois modes: maison, nuit et absent. Ils peuvent être programmés manuellement ou avec un brin d'intelligence artificielle car votre telephone est constamment en liaison avec l'appareil et des que vous vous approchez de votre maison, hop, il met tout en route à nouveau. Maintenant, je vais acheter un autre pour mes autres appareils dans la maison.

Ich habe das Gerät in meinem Ferienhaus in Kroatien installiert! Da wir das Haus auch öfters mal im Winter benutzen und dieses durch 4 Klimageräte geheizt wird, war mir eine Bedienung über das Internet ganz wichtig! Da das Haus nicht permanent geheizt wird, kühlt es im Winter natürlich stark aus! Vor unserer Anreise musste die Klimaanlage immer ein paar Tage vorher angeschaltet werden, damit es bei der Ankunft auch warm ist! Ich wollte aber nicht immer die Nachbarn bemühen um die Klimaanlage anzuschalten! Daher dieses Gerät!!! Viele Rezensionen sprechen von einer mangelhaften Software! Das kann ich überhaupt nicht bestätigen! Die Installation läuft ausschließlich über die App und ist absolut intuitiv! Das Gerät war innerhalb weniger Minuten komplett funktionsfähig! Ich sitze nun gerade in Österreich und kann die "Heizung" von hier aus bedienen! Zur Sicherheit habe ich eine IP Kamera in Kroatien installiert, um zu checken ob die Klimaanlage auch wirklich angeht! Alles funktioniert tadellos! Absolute Kaufempfehlung!

Wir steuern hiermit eine sehr alte und vor allem ungewöhnliche Klimaanlage im Ferienhaus. (keine bekannte Marke) Die niedrigste am Klimagerät regulär einstellbare Temperatur ist 16 Grad. Das ist mir jedoch zu viel für die Leerstandszeit. 8 oder 10 Grad sind vollkommen ausreichend. Wir haben schon überlegt eine neue Anlage zu kaufen aber nach einem Telefonat mit dem tado Support habe ich ein tado gekauft. Einfach ein "offset" von - 5 Grad einstellen und schon regelt tado die Temperatur auf 10 Grad (Einstellwert dann 15 Grad) Das ganze funktioniert absolut zuverlässig und präzise. 5 Sterne UPDATE nach einem Winter: Wir bleibem bei den 5 Sternen! Unser Stromverbrauch liegt zwischen 30% und 55% unter den jeweiligen Verbräuchen des Vergleichsmonats im Vorjahr. Damit ist der Tado nach dieser einen Wintersaison mehr als bezahlt.

Tado es pequeño y bonito, funciona con el aire acondicionado perfectamente y permite que lo puedas controlar con alexa de forma cómoda. Lo instalé en un aire por conductos de Hisense y ahora puedo conectar el aire antes de haber llegado a casa o apagarlo desde la cama. Tuve dudas en su montaje y configuración al principio y el servicio técnico de Tado me atendió desde España rápida y eficazmente, en dos emails en 48h tenía todas mis dudas resueltas y el Tado funcionando como esperaba. Recomendable

Hace un año que compré el primero para ver cómo funcionaba. Estoy tan contento que ahora estoy completando todos los aires acondicionados de casa. Es fácil de instalar. Pones uno al lado de cada aparato de aire que tengas y lo controlas desde la app. Lo programas para que cuando estés llegando a casa esté a la temperatura que quieras y detecta cuando te estás acercando a casa para conectarlo, así si te retrasas no tienes por qué estar gastando energía. Por supuesto que también puedes ponerlo manualmente desde cualquier sitio. Es fantástico estar en la playa y conectarlo desde allí para llegar a una casa fresquita. Es un genial paso para empezar a domotizar tu casa.
