I have connected my iphone to the usb port, it but it will not play. any ideas what i'm doing wrong?

The iPhone does not play audio from the USB cord. You need a lightning to 3.5mm or lightning to aux for sound. Use Bluetooth.

I love mine, but if your main interest is the radio it is difficult to keep a channel if the signal isn't strong. I would buy different if that is your main interest.
