Is it possible to remove the pipe from this fitting once inserted

Yes all john Guest fittings are detachable you push the fitting clip forward to release the pipe there are tools on the market normally in 3 sizes 15mm 18,.. 22 mm come as a set under £5.00

5/16 push fit connectir

This fitting will not fit 5/16" Tube. I am afraid we do not do a 5/16" fitting in this style.

Will this connect to a pub co2 bottle

I sure that one of the fittings will connect but you need to know the size of the connection on the bottle, I think it might be larger than 1/2 inch bps. Then once you know that get the connector that suits screw it on and push the 1/4 plastic pipe into the fitting. You need to push it in ALL the way to get a seal. I assume the water aerator you are using takes a 1/4 pipe, check this as well.
