Faster, no problems with nvme card or mounting
This a a great case for my nvme stick. I moved my P3 4TB PCIe Gen3 3D NAND NVMe ssd from the former 10mbps lightweight ssk case to this hefty one and about doubled the transfer speed. It's a cooler running nvme with moderate performance in the 3000 range. The included cable was three times faster and longer than the cable that came with the old ssk case. Installation was just as easy. I changed my home server from a netbook running linux to the M4 mac mini. I use this ssk to host a media server and for daily network backups with a 4tb passport for mirror. This case is warm, but no warmer than the old one. I keep it on the mac mini case to increase the heat transfer to the mini. This is a great value and design for the money.

Works great!!
I've been using this enclosure with my M4 Pro Mac mini for over a year and it has worked flawlessly. I love the heavy duty construction of the enclosure. It's all aluminum and helps transfer the heat away from the NVMe SSD. Just remember to connect it to one of the rear ports on the Mac mini.

Excellent USB4 enclosure
I recently bought a Mac Mini M4 and didn't want to pay the Apple tax on additional storage. I opted for an enclosure and Samsung 980 PRO NVME SSD for a fraction of the price. This enclosure is dead silent since it is passively cooled. It's slightly shorter than the Mac Mini M4 and about half as thick. Pros: 1. The entire enclosure is machined out of aluminum. 2. The USB controller is an AsMedia ASM2464 NVME/USB 4.x Controller. This controller can be flashed with newer firmware found on the internet to fix bugs and/or compatibility issues. I didn't have to do this out of the box. 3. The included short USB4 cable yield 3 to 3.2GB read and write speed on my machine. 4. The Samsung 980 PRO Idles slightly warm to the touch. This varies depending on the SSD paired with it. Cons: 1. The included thermal strip is lacking 2. Short USB cable Idle operating temperature: Warning Comp. Temperature Time: 0 Critical Comp. Temperature Time: 0 Temperature Sensor 1: 33 Celsius Temperature Sensor 2: 40 Celsius

Great enclosure, but you need to know how to use it
Pro: Price, got it for $38. Real USB4 controller Backward compatible with USB 3 USB 2 (and possibly USB1, but who uses USB1 now) Con: Won't work well with every computer because USB4 is new Runs hot (unless you open it up and mod the thermal interface to the USB4 controller)

Came with a generic USB-C cable
I was disappointed at the cable included. It is not as the picture on Amazon website with USB4 and 40Gbps designation. It is just a no-label USB-C cable that is similar to any other USB-C cable. I now have to shop for a USB4/40Gbps rated cable for the connection, which will be added cost. I also contacted SSK regarding the miss label on the cable. They requested me to prove that the cable cannot achieve the 40Gbps speed. This shows that this vendor is irresponsible and cannot stand behind the product they are selling. In addition, this case does not have an active cooling device so it will run hot.

Works as advertised if you have USB4 or Thunderbolt 4 ports.
Really good USB4\TB4 enclsoures. Works as expected. Comes with USB4 cable, thick thermal pad that actually touches the aluminum enclosre, and a nice, rugged rubber cover that makes it look really nice. The Aluminum case dissipates heat extremely well. It's too hot to hold without the rubber cover during benchmarking. With a PCIE 4.0 4TB SN850X temps ranged from 62° to 68°. Too hot to hold but well under the warning temp of 90°.

Will not work with Surface Pro 8
I got my hands on some extra WDC SN810, which is suppose to do 6,600MB read and 5,000MB write. The M.2 enclosure I currently have is only rated for 10Gbps, which would just knee cap the SN810 performance. The SSK enclosure is supposed to be USB4 with compatibility for thunderbolt. This appear to be a true statement on the USB4, but not the thunderbolt. Using a Dell 5570, which has USB4, the benchmarked show it as 1,882MB read and 1,524MB write. This is about 20Gbps speed, still better than the USB3 10Gbps. Base on the device manager, the enclosure is connected to the USB4 root port and the M2 can go faster, it would appear the enclosure itself is not going as fast as it can. Not sure if it's the enclosure fault, but for it to work with the 5570, the AC adapter MUST be plugged in. If not, the SSD LED will light up, then goes dark. There was no speed difference between using the supply cable, a USB3 cable, or USB4 cable. On a Surface Pro 8, which is suppose to thunderbolt only, Windows will just not detect it. Using a thunderbolt cable did not help. Hardware wise, the design is very good. The accompanying rubber housing is a nice touch. But, as others have commented, this is more to prevent burning your finger when picking it up after extended read/write operations.

I did read the reviews but still bought it. Below is a piccy of the speed from a gen 3 samsung 980 and it's about full speed. The other shows the settings in device manager which should be changed to get full speed. These results were from a usb4 port. I have also tested on a 10mbit usb c port and the results were 900/852. One thing to mention, its does get real hot. I now use it for backup images

It is superfast, works really well, no issues thus far. Heat dissipation is really good as well. Well built, easy to set up and worked first time.

Best enclosure I tried and its the only one priced reasonably at 49 euro. Too bad they are sold out and not getting restocked by the looks of it.
