Anti Icky Poo Unscented

As someone with a major cat urine problem and have gone through gallons of this stuff, I thought it’d be helpful to leave a realistic review and share my story. I recently moved to a different apartment and the previous tenants had a cat. There was tons of cat hair around the apartment and wasn’t very clean overall, but I figured “no big deal, I’ll just clean it up and it’ll be like new” (spoiler: wasn’t the case at all). Another thing to mention is the carpet was replaced in the whole unit, except ONE room. I didn’t think much of it at the time because that’s a pretty normal thing in between tenants, but more on that later. Now, I’m not sure what sort of magic the landlord did while I was touring the apartment, as there was no smell of cat urine - at all. Didn’t even cross my mind. I move in a little bit later and everything is fine. Fast forward a few days and I notice a smell in the one bedroom where the carpet WASN’T replaced. I noticed my own cat was acting a little strange and sure enough I discovered he peed on the floor. Very foolish me at the time thought this was it, and having no knowledge on cat pee, I grabbed my carpet shampooer and shampooed the section of carpet where he peed. While I was at it, I figured, “Why not just shampoo this whole room?” Sure enough, that made it worse. This is when I went full detective mode on my hands and knees smelling every inch of the carpet while my cat is staring at me wondering wtf I’m doing. I quickly realized the smell extended far beyond where my own cat had peed. I ran to the internet and began researching the topic of Cat Urine as if I was writing a thesis on it. This is when I learned that when cat urine is rewetted, it reactivates uric acid to recrystallize and suddenly made sense as to why this entire room now reeks of cat urine - I just wetted the entire carpet with the shampooer. Two corners of this room in particular smelled extra terrible, and at this point there was no way my cat did of all of this on his own. I resorted to pulling up about a foot of the carpet and was instantly hit with the most rancid, stale, rotten cat urine smell. The entire carpet pad was stained, the entire subfloor was stained, it seriously was AWFUL. At this point, I connected the dots: the previous tenants had a SERIOUS cat pee problem, hence why the carpet was replaced. I went around the unit and smelled nearly every corner in the unit and another 3 corners smelled just as bad on the wall and baseboards in the rooms where the carpet WAS replaced. No idea why the last bedroom didn't get it's carpet replaced too, but it was obvious at this point there was a major problem, and if I owned the place, I’d be ripping out the carpet in the last bedroom. However, that isn’t an option, so I resorted to finding a solution that would work for now. The biggest takeaway is you need one very key ingredient to get rid of the problem: Enzymes There’s tons of enzyme cleaners. I started with Rocco & Roxie and the fragrance nearly took me out. Probably would have worked if I used enough, but only used 32 oz of it - not nearly enough and didn’t want to buy more because of the intense fragrance. I tried Skout’s Honor because of good reviews and realized once I got home it’s not even an enzyme cleaner. Sure enough, didn’t work. This leads me to Anti Icky Poo, and thankfully I think this will be my last product. (And HUGE bonus is that it comes in an unscented version - definitely recommend that version) One really important thing to point out is you need to follow the instructions, especially for major urine problems. It says right on the bottle you’ll need at least a quart for 1 corner and multiple applications may be necessary. Acknowledge this step! For me, this equated to needing literally GALLONS of this. The key to this product is absolutely dousing the affected area and letting it stay soaked. In my case, I poured about a gallon on one corner, let it sit for a whole day with trash bags on top to preventing it from evaporating, and after drying it was probably 95% better! Realistically, I’m sure there will always be some odor in this case due to the subfloor being stained with the urine. It’s not a miracle product that will suddenly replace your subfloors soaked with years of cat pee - it just does what it says. This was clearly a problem that is too long gone at this point and likely needs complete replacement of subflooring. But, like I said, this isn’t an option, so I believe this product dealt with my issue in the best way given the circumstances. Maybe at some point I'll buy some more, pull up the carpet, and try soaking the subflooring, but thankfully, the room no longer smells like cat urine, and the only way you even get any hint of a smell is if you stick your nose directly in the corner. Overall, this product is really great. It does exactly what it says it’s going to. It didn’t rip out my subflooring and replace it, but it doesn’t claim to. There’s obviously physical limitations to a liquid product. But for most issues, this will do what it claims to do. Just don’t spritz your carpet with a decade of cat pee embedded into it and expect it to work, you really have to use it very liberally.

Me & my extremely jumpy asthmatic girl-cat moved into a house where there were male cats, both current and previous. On our first night there, not knowing the bedroom door's lock was bunk, the (mean) boy cat broke in literally no less than 20 minutes after I went to bed & proceeded to spray & pee on EVERYTHING, terrorizing my cat & soaking the wall, the carpet, the carpet pad, all the way down to the wood floor underneath before I could wake up & get him out. Did not know it was possible for there to be that many bad smells in one cat that could be unleashed in such a short time. Nature's Miracle--all I had on hand--USELESS. Did nothing to actually get rid of the smell, just covered it up with more smell & my cat & me were both very upset & crabby & freaking out the next day cuz dude what do we do about this smell, but then one of my friends in vet school suggested...THE ICKY POO. This is absolutely hands-down THE STUFF. THE SAUCE. THE JUICE. A miracle product. Nature's Miracle should go hang its head in shame, they do zero miracles and Icky Poo does ALL THE MIRACLES. One application & the smell was down to have-to-put-your-face-under-the-carpet-to-smell-it levels (not just masking it, it was ERASING IT!) and my cat had calmed down most of the way, and after the second application the smell was TOTALLY 100% GONE even if you put your face directly in the spot and my cat was going about her business like nothing had ever happened. I go for unscented products whenever possible cuz of her asthma/my own sensory issues, but my friend couldn't vouch for the unscented flavor of this personally so I took their word that it'd be light. And it was!!! It's just "pleasant" smelling as it dries--not really any specific smell, and then it GOES AWAY. Does not smell like chemical reek for any period of time after. When you're laying it down (especially if it's in the corner of a closet or some other super enclosed area) it IS a hold-your-breath kind of operation (I used a spray bottle to apply, so maybe it has to do with the spraying action?) cuz you have to soak it, but after that it's not something you have to clear the room over. I absolutely do not know how these guys have done it, but I do know they have cracked the code on busting pet stink so completely I never want to be without a bottle of this stuff. Absolute miracle. If I could give 900 stars, I would. Worth its weight in gold. They have made me a believer. All hail the Icky Poo.

It works very well for cat urine on furniture. We have a cat that urinated repeatedly on a sofa. I tried other products and didn't really work that well, since the smell was not completely removed and the cat would come back and do it again. This product worked very well removing the residual smell completely. I did have to really soak it into the fabric and cushioning and I used a full gallon given the extent of the problem. Well, it was well worth it. Now we can use the sofa again and our little Rosita isn't peeing on it anymore.

I purchased Mister Max Anti Icky Poo to help with recurring pet accidents in a hallway where my dog tends to mark along the woodwork. After trying various cleaners over the years, I wanted something specifically designed to break down the odor rather than simply mask it. I've been applying the product by soaking a paper towel and placing it against the affected area to allow the enzymes time to work. So far, I'm impressed with the results. The odor has noticeably improved, and the area smells much cleaner than it did before treatment. One thing I appreciate is that it doesn't leave behind a strong perfume scent. Instead, it focuses on eliminating the source of the odor, which is exactly what I was looking for. Since enzyme cleaners often need time to fully break down urine contamination, I'm continuing to monitor the area, but my initial experience has been very positive. Pros: ✔ Easy to apply ✔ Helps eliminate odors instead of masking them ✔ Works well on pet accident areas ✔ Doesn't leave behind an overpowering fragrance ✔ Large bottle provides plenty of product ✔ Enzyme-based formula designed to tackle the source of odors Cons: ✘ May require multiple treatments for older or deeply soaked areas ✘ Results can take time as the enzymes continue working Final Thoughts: If you're dealing with recurring pet accidents, especially in areas where odors seem to linger, this product is worth trying. I've had good results using it on woodwork where my dog has repeatedly marked, and so far it appears to be doing exactly what it's supposed to do. I'm hopeful it will continue improving the area with additional treatments.

If you have animals you need this in your life. Every pet owner has a pet mess of some sort and this takes care of it. I have a cat that decided to start using the bathroom outside her litter box. I have tried everything I could find and the smell come back. I decided to give this one a try and it worked!!! The smell is light and pleasant. I have used it in my steam cleaner and in a spray bottle for accident. It removes stains throughly.

I recently went through the ordeal (and eventual death) of a beloved cat whose kidneys were slowly degenerating. She was my wonderful companion for 16 years and during her illness, she began urinating in many places in my home. I was lucky that she preferred to go on things (clothes, etc) rather than straight on my carpet, but I still was spending an inordinate amount of time trying to clean a variety of items of cat urine. I tried all kinds of things recommended online (various vinegar or baking soda recipes, Nature's Miracle from Petsmart, Simple Solution) and was finally recommended Anti Icky Poo by a friend whose cousin works at cleaning crime scenes. All I can say is wow. It works. I've used it on leather, tile floors, wood floors, carpet (scrub lightly to break up the salt crystals that form on the surface of the carpet fibers just prior to use), and various fabrics, including a pair of silk pillow covers. There has been no damage, and it has worked on them all. I've used it in my laundry (put the clothes in the washer, let the water fill to where it just covers the clothes, dump in a cup of Anti Icky Poo, let sit for 24 hours, wash as usual). I've saved luggage. I've saved my leather messenger bag. I've used it on cat urine, cat vomit (hairballs), residual cat feces when one cat missed the litter box (to keep others from deciding to do the same), and even plain old food stains on my own clothing. Oh, and you know how athletic T-shirts can eventually get yellow sweat stains under the armpits or around the neck? Guess what? Sweat is organic, and Anti Icky Poo loves organic stains and smells. It has also worked on grease spots when I accidentally dropped a bit of chicken bolognese on my chest--because olive oil is organic. I have soaked a featherbed in it after my cat peed on it, let it dry, then taken it to the cleaner for a wash in their industrial washer--no odor when I took it in to the cleaner, and no odor when I got it back. My biggest test was with a shirt I found after my poor cat passed away. It was buried at the back of my closet, and the poor thing had apparently been using as a litter box for quite awhile. It was covered with dark, smelly urine stains that had clearly been layered onto it over months. I have no idea how I didn't smell it earlier. In any case, I decided I wasn't going to be able to wear it again (psychologically, it would have been impossible for me after knowing what had been on it), but I wanted to test out my Anti Icky Poo. I thoroughly doused the inside and outside of the shirt in Anti Icky Poo, rolled it up into a ball, and tied it up in a plastic grocery bag. I did this once a day for three days. I could see that the stains had faded more each day. On the third day, there was no evidence of staining or smell left. I washed normally in the washer and dried in the dryer. The shirt looked and smelled like brand new. I still got rid of the shirt (like I said, psychologically I just couldn't wear it), but I was absolutely amazed. After the fact, I wished I had taken before and after photos. It was that drastic. The secret to this product is that this has both bacteria and an enzyme in it, and the two work together. For them to work, you HAVE TO KEEP THEM ALIVE. Which means you MUST keep the solution WET for it to keep working--once it dries up, the bacteria (which is what is eating away the decaying matter that causes the smell) dies and thus quits working. And you have to give it time to eat everything away. It's not a masking product that works immediately by covering with perfume--it actually completely gets rid of what it's working on by eating it up over time. It speeds up the decay process, which is what creates the smell, so things definitely get worse before they get better, but if you give it time and make sure you create the proper conditions for the bacteria and enzymes to remain alive and keep working (wrap in plastic, spray religiously and liberally, let it puddle, etc.), it's like magic. And, btw, I have other cats. Not one shows any sign that it smells any trace of odor on anything I've treated. And none of them uses anything I've treated as a bathroom--they're all happily using their litter boxes. Anti Icky Poo = Good stuff!

This stuff works great, honestly. I have 8 cats, they are all fixed but 1 still likes to spray every once in a while and 1 refuses to use the litter box so she peed on the tile floor and it gets into the grout. I kept cleaning it up but not fully getting rid of the smell so I started looking for a cleaner specifically for cat pee and spray and came across this stuff. Initially I was skeptical because of the cost but the reviews were good so I bought it. I put it in a spray bottle mixed with a small amount of water as per the directions and sprayed it into the grout and pet it sit a few minutes. Wiped it up and the smell is gone. Completely gone. It's got a fresh scent that's not too powerful. And the bottle is huge so I imagine it will last a long time so it's actually a good value for the price.

I'm giving a 3 bc maybe it did something. I bought 2 gallons and did all the treatments as instructed that I could possibly do and it still smells by the next day. (Been a few weeks of treating). I finally realized maybe this didnt work so I tried the KOE (Thornell brand) Cat-odor off. Drenched the floors and let dry, just like this anti-icky poo instructs and I did. Well even a couple days later, it still doesn't smell like much of anything. 25 bucks for concentrate making like 24 16oz bottles. This Anti-icky Poo is how much more? Ill save that 40 bucks thanks! The KOE doesnt seem to leave a lingering smell either. 3 stars for this bc maybe it assisted somehow and will assist with cat not marking again, but I dont feel it really works for smell in any way (which makes me believe it didn't do anything). I've tried everything out there and this brand was recommended to be the best. I put some in a spray bottle and simply sprayed the carpet areas that smelled like cat pee and let it sit. Killed the smell mostly but waited a few days, reapplying the product again and doing nothing more than let it get in the carpet to the underlayment. Did the trick. Applied a third spray just for good measure. Highly recommend.

This product is WONDERFUL. it has saved me from re-carpeting my home. It actually works. Great. Cannot recommend it more highly.

I have a 14 year old cat that spends a lot of time outside in the summer. But come winter it is too cold for his liking. However, he is used to having the whole back yard as a litter box and does not like to be confined to a box (he has good days and bad days). So he will sometimes use the stairs or floor instead. It's purely a behavioural thing and the vet says he is healthy. So, knowing he is healthy, we searched for ways to curb this behaviour with bigger litter boxes and more of them and in places he frequents. The last step was to remove the enzymes from previous "accidents" with this Anti Icky Poo. I like this stuff a lot. There is zero smell (I got the unscented stuff). I checked with a black light after clean up and everything was gone (I have no carpets). It has reduced the amount of times he has used the stairs and floor significantly (not entirely because it is behavioural and that is on him not the product). But definitely a noticeable difference. I went from having to clean up 4 - 6 times a day to maybe once every other day or so now. Did my whole house, upstairs and down with one jug and still have a bit left over. If I run into the same problem next winter, I will be buying this again next year.

My cat trashed two counches by weeing and poohing on them so was desparate to find a product to remedy the situation. This product worked after many applications as the stains were very bad. Its expensive but it works.

Thank you to those that reciewed before me.. i have a senior cat I cant keep up with.. doggy pads and this icky poo has saved my carpet from disaster. I saturate the floor, i work it in with gloved hands then put a puppy pad back overtop so plastic side keeps it wet longer and removes some air contact as well. It takes a lot out immediately but in 3 ir 4 days i dont smell ANYTHING! My mom does smell it and is sensitive to it but she has asthma and i smoke cannabis so maybe its that lol i still have an unacented one in the mail syatem to see the difference. Tytyty!
