A good and dependable toaster
This replaces the last Proctor Silex four-slice toaster that we used daily for at least 25 years. The new one appears to be just an updated version of the old one and is as simple and competent as the old one was. This new one does what the last one did very well for a long time. I'm pleased with the new one already.

It Toasts
For the price it's okay. Fits a regular slice of bread, not for wider sourdough or anything. Toasters are too expensive.....for as simple as they are.

Doesn't toast evenly
In 1980 I got a Proctor Silex 4 slice toaster. 40 years later, I moved on and bought at Cuisinart. The Cuisinart wasn't nearly as good of a toaster, it toasted one side, while the other side barely browned. Prime Days come along, and I'm well over the Cuisinart. I figure why not go back to Proctor Silex. But that was a mistake. It does not brown evenly either. Come on manufacturers, its a toaster! Have those nice bowed toasting wires on all sides! Quit cheapening up one side. This toaster is going back asap. My bread was not extra long, but the top still stuck out. The bottom of both sides burned. Front and back photos of one slice of bread. Oh, and it took three "dry" runs to get the chemical smell out of the toaster, but it did go away. Why isn't this process done in the factory??

Great little find
Very nice simple design. Buttons on front to pick the setting. I ran it a couple of times empty to get the initial smell out (new). No problems with the toaster. Great value and toasts perfectly

Bought this 4 slice toaster for my mom And she just loved it because she always has a 2 slice toaster

It makes a toast out of a slice of bread.
It's does what it should. Does feel a little on a cheap side, hense 4 stars, but you get what you pay for. I am happy with it.
