Low-cal Treats that my Dogs Love + Pricing Tips
I've been buying these treats for some years. They are a dry, crunchy treat, and similar in size and shape to an oyster cracker. I keep them in the cookie jar on my counter, near the back door, so they are handy for when the dogs come inside when called, training tricks, or just for looking cute. ;D For my dogs, these are not a high reward treat - they won't necessarily get the dog's attention in a very distracting or highly stimulating situation - but they are a good treat for other purposes of simple reinforcement. Here's my tip on pricing for a *16 oz bag* of Charlee Bears, which usually have a non-sale price of just over $5 in a store:- Under $5 is a good price. Under $4 is a really good price.- Under $3 is a _great_ price (i.e. Amazon add-on-item price for 2.99). Buy several bags.- If Over $6, you are paying more than you would at a pet store - shop elsewhere. Here's what I like about the treats:* Dogs like them.* Dry and crunchy, easy to keep in cookie jar (don't dry out from exposure like soft treats).* Only 3 calories per treat, so I can give several without worrying about making my dog fat.* Not a strong smell to humans, if you are sensitive to such things, but a good smell to dogs.* Few ingredients - simple and healthy.* Made with Poultry liver (not beef) - important if your dog is allergic or sensitive to beef.* Fit inside many treat dispenser toys, such as the Squirrel Dude and Kong Wobbler.

Wonderful training treats!
I use these as rewards for my guide dog when we are working. If you have not seen them, they are about the size of a Smartie, or an M&M if you aren't familiar with Smarties. They are also quite dry and hard which makes them ideal to carry in your pocket as they do not crumble or make a greasy mess. I only gave them four stars because I believe a more discerning dog than my present lab (who gobbles up EVERYTHING) would likely reject them. My previous German Shepherd would not have given them a second sniff. For the dog who is very treat-motivated, they are perfect.

Fantastic for Training
These are excellent treats for training. I have small jars filled with them in nearly every room so I can easily reward good behavior. They also don't stink, so you can literally carry them in your pocket. They're also low calorie, so you don't have to worry about a training puppy getting full and less motivated.
