Excellent product, simple to install and excellent customer service
Excellent product, simple to install and top notch customer service. I purchased this insulation due to the R-8 rating and price point. Living in Tucson, AZ with a south facing uninsulated garage door, the temperature in the garage could be extremely high. After installing the insulation panels, the temperature in the garage was noticeably lower. Easily 20-25 degrees F. cooler. The installation was simple, easy and relatively quick. Make accurate measurements, clean cuts, follow the instructions and it will look very professional. Also, when I purchased the kit, I ordered by sq feet. My mistake! Do not order by sq feet of material required. Order by the number of panels you need. When the kit arrived, it was obvious that I was going to need another panel of insulation. I contacted customer service (Mike) by phone and left a voicemail. Mike called back immediately, got my address and sent another insulation panel that same day. Excellent customer service for sure! I am very pleased with the product and customer service from US Energy.

Excellent Garage Door Insulation Kit! Easy to Install - Very Effective -Great Customer Service
I don’t usually write reviews, but I had to take minute to write about US Energy’s awesome product. My garage door faces west and in the late spring and summer the door gets super-hot making my garage workshop unbearable and worse my bedroom is right over the garage. When they garage is hot, it makes it difficult to keep the bedroom cool. After reading all the reviews decided on this product. I like clean look of the foam insulation strips and am R-8 rating is about the best I found. The two-car garage kit I ordered was delivered as promised in about a week. I opened the box, removed the contents and read the instructions. It was very simple to install. The taping takes a while as there are lots of pieces that need to be cut and applied. I found handling the foam really easy and cutting it as well. Unfortunately I measured wrong and ruined two sections. Since I’m a stickler for details I decided to contact the company to buy two foam strips to replace the ones I cut wrong. Instead, I was pleasantly surprised when I was told two new rolls would be sent out right away at no charge. Those came in a few days and I was able to finish the project quickly. I am completely satisfied with the product. My garage workshop is comfortable now and the inside of the door is cool to the touch even when the sun is beating down on it. A word of advice: Follow the instructions!! The two-sided tape supplied is amazing. The tape is very thin but after curing sticks great and I’ve had no problems with it coming loose. It’s important to clean the surface well prior to applying the tape. Then use the little tool they provide to press the tape into place and let it ‘Cure’ for 12-24-hours. The finished product looks like it was installed professionally and it actually insulates very well. I highly recommend this product if you want an easy to install insulation kit for your garage door. In addition, the customer service is outstanding.

An absolute nightmare to install, but seems to work
This is the kind of DIY project where a married couple starts the project dreaming of a cool garage and ends up divorced. I do not know why other reviewers say this is easy to install. It took hours, lots of cursing, and left us covered in sweat, dirt, and grease. We got better as we went along, but this is not the kind of thing I ever really want to apply my learning skills toward. Why is it designed this way? Panels that are precut and simply slip into the garage sections would have reduced this job to minutes! Preparation (cleaning) takes a good deal of time or the tape won't stick. The tape is difficult to apply and the clear plastic cover over the top of the tape difficult to remove. The panels bubble up where it's stretched over the hinges, which will happen unless you pre measure and pre cut everything before installing - something I will absolutely never do. So you have to cut out the hinges after it's applied with a knife that is pure trash, and unless you are very patient and precise, which I am not, it's going to look jagged when it's done. It looks OK from a distance, but up close is not something to brag about. I have doubts about it's staying power as well, given what I experienced with the tape, but time will tell. Aside from installation, it really does seem to be working. It feels cooler and the noise is reduced. The grease wiped off pretty easily. It brightened up the garage. So it seems to work, and I'm giving a decent review as a result because I'm ultimately glad I got it (assuming it stays in place), but why make it so hard to install? There are much better ways to design something like this, and I can think if a lot better ways to spend 3 hours of a Saturday. Also - very expensive.

Outstanding Customer Service - Great Product!
It's every once in a while that I will be either so extremely pissed off, or so unbelievably surprised by a product, that I will take the time to write a lengthy review. This is one of those times. For those (like me) who don't like to read so many lengthy reviews, let me tell you this now: This is an outstanding product that works far better than my expectations considering the cost. More than that, the customer service and follow up after the sale provided by Mike and US Energy Products was simply the best I have ever experienced in my 51 years of existence. So if you're wanting to make a quick decision, let me help you now. 1) Measure your garage panels and count them (make sure you're getting the right product as there are several sizes. 2) Once you know what you need - BUY IT! 3) Take your time to read the brief instructions and follow them (this does take extra time if you have hurricane braces as they will need to be removed for installation). 4) If you have any issues whatsoever, call or email the owner of the company that will be provided with your product and he will correct the issue or guide you in the installation. 5) Have a garage that's over 20 degrees cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter and feel completely satisfied with your purchase. For those who want the whole story - Let me paint the picture a little first. I purchased this product from Amazon nearly 3 years ago from the day of this review. This was not a promotional purchase, nor was I paid for this review. I probably didn't research the product as good as I should have up front or really READ all the details or reviews prior to my purchase. I did some basic overview, read a view reviews, and mainly based my decision on the rating in combination with price at the time to determine my potential value for my money. So a quick assessment, more or less, and I pulled the string. I received the product within days, opened it up, and immediately found that it was somewhat of a bigger job than I expected. First I was going to have to remove my hurricane braces as I live in Mississippi Gulf Coast, and these are a must with the weather events we have. Not only that, the first steps of installation involve cleaning the application area for the double sided tape that secures the foam panels in place, and waiting at least a day for the adhesive to set before applying those foams panels. So Ionger story short I got discouraged and out off the installation. Now fast forward 3 years....Yep that's right.....3 years. This record heat we are having in 2023 - my garage is an oven. I can't work in it unless it's open and i have a couple of fans running and even then I look like I just jumped in the pool after about 15 mins, I sweat so much. So i started looking at possible buying a new mini split AC for my garage. But wait! That's right. I still have that insulation kit...so I pulled it out of the closet in the washroom and set out to get it installed. I did a little more reading, watched a few videos on youtube (careful here....some people don't do this correctly) and was ready to get this product installed. Thats when I realized I bought the 4 panel kit and my garage door is 5 panels. so I immediately researched on Amazon the product and supplier again, and found some possible products (1 more role of foam insluation) that may work to help me complete the job. But I wasn't sure, and I wanted it to match. So after 3 years I reached out to Mike at US Energy Products to inquire about purchasign what I needed to finish my job. and TO MY ABSOLUTE SURPRISE, he answered my email almost immediately, and offered to send me what I needed ABSOLUTELY FREE if I would send my shipping address. 4 days later I received not only an entire roll of foam to complete the job on my garage door, but also an entire roll of doublesided tape, because mine was a little old. Needless to say: I was quite overwhelmed by his service and kindness. My job is now complete and my Garage is 20 degrees cooler....it's no joke. This product works....hands down. I can't confirm yet if the double-sided tape will stand the test of time here in this southern climate, but Mike gave me enough double-sided tape to make adjustments if need be in the future. BOTTOM LINE: This man stands behind his product, he stands behind his promise of service after the sale, and he followed through. You don't see that alot anymore. It's certainly appreciated by this customer. Thanks, Mike.

So far so good.
Just finished the garage door insulation kit. I was debating on how to place it up and not look hokey. I have seen in some posts that they just draped it right over the hardware and it looks horrible. Plus, potential insulating issues may possibly arise afterwards. Meaning the door is flexible and may pull and tear at the insulation when lifting or when the door is closing.. So I chose to cut on the panels and slightly drape over so it would overlap. Then, to make sure that the flaps do not bind, I took the pieces I cut, and used adhesive caulk, And doubled it up under the flaps so there would be a nice overlapping gap in between the panels. It took a little bit more extra time, but I think it came out well, and the ends do not fold back or bind up when opening or closing, which is key. The double sided adhesive roll that comes with the kit DOES NOT hold well..so forget using it all together. So I ended up using a combination of spray adhesive, and gorilla glue heavy duty construction adhesive in a caulk clear form. (I would recommend you get three tubes to make sure that everything sticks properly- and prevents you from wasting time going back and forth to the store). Keep in mind (for the average do it yourselfer) this is not a one day job if you’re working on it by yourself and you want to do it right. It will probably take two days possibly three, because it’ll take approximately 12 hours for the caulk to cure and harden. Also, just like me, I had to go back and recheck and make some minor corrections and adjustments the next day when some parts of the insulation didn’t line up perfectly when I first opened and closed the door…so: if you’re not handy, I would highly recommend having another person help ypu with this project. However, I did it myself and I took my time and I think it came out great. I would recommend that you take the hardware off. Not only will it prevent the panels from binding together, it will help keep the insulation intact as well as assisting in the insulation purposes from the beginning. Also, cosmetically speaking: it just looks so Much better than what it was from before. As of now, there is definitely a noise reduction when vehicles pass by my place. Also, we just had a very high wind storm last night, and usually through the panels I could feel wind coming through the seams of the garage door and that is most definitely reduced. As a side note: , the knife that they give you with the kit is really dull, (honestly it really sucks) so go by a very sharp box cutter Blade so it doesn’t rip and tear on you. I started using it and I thought “ what the….!?!?!?” Trash it…. So, the other technicals: Came on time, was packaged well, and even if there is a couple degrees reduction in the summer, and it tends to keep the warmth in during the winter, then it did its job. I have noticed a change in the temperature with the southern sun exposure beating in. I didn’t have a digital thermometer laser gun (let the other reviews do that), but again, there is a difference. Also I noticed that on humid days, it’s not as bad as it was before, and there has been a reduction of that humidity since I put it up… Once again: I would recommend that this is a two-man job, but it can be done by one person. If you’re patient enough and like to work alone, you definitely can do it on your own. I did it as one person. Took me about a whole day (of actual hard work)to get all the hardware off and put back on and the roll panels out..Also make sure you have some rags and alcohol or a cleaning solution to wipe off the excess grease from the rollers on the track. Very important to keep that clean so everything sticks to the door properly. It can get very messy when mixing caulk with grease and white panels…so again, take your time and don’t rush the job if by yourself. Overall, quite happy with the product, we’ll see how it goes throughout the year. Once we start going into the cold months, I’m sure there will be a huge difference. I can tell it’s working in the summer to keep the heat from beating in. I can only assume that this principle holds true in the cold winter months.. well- good luck, hope my review helps you in getting prepared on what you need to do when handling this future project… Highly Recommend…

Superb product, highly recommend
This is the first time I’ve used a product like this before. I’m not very skilled with what I call “blue” chores. Ya know, building furniture etc. but this product was very easy to install. I was very pleasantly surprised that I was provided with a box cutter style tool for ease of cutting the tape and the foam. I had more than enough product for my garage door. I would definitely buy this again.

Not great but not bad
The insulation does work and there is sufficient insulation for a double garage. It is not thick at all. It does not fill the cavity in the garage door. Instead, it adheres to the outer edge for the door panels to create an air cavity between the front of the door and the back of the frame. This means the insulations depends on narrow bands of adhesive to stay connected to the door. In my application, there was additional bracing that also served to hold the insulation in place. That helped where the adhesion was not so good. Since this is just creating a layer over the open back, it leaves open areas at each end of my door compromising the insulation value. The installation is not so easy. There are good instructions and lots of steps to keep in mind for good adhesion. You will need to spend a lot of time just preparing the surfaces for installation before you can get started. My application required a good deal of cutting to get everything right sized. I also had to remove and reinstall additional bracing pre-existing on my garage door. You'll need a long straight edge to make sure your cuts are perfect. If they are not perfect cuts, you'll have problems later. In short, I had a hard time and took a lot of time to try to make this right. I'd say the adhesion is okay, but not great. I admit that despite the time I spent preparing the surfaces, there may have been imperfections that impacted the installation. After a few months, I've had several sections disconnect from the door and hang down when the door is open. I've found that duct tape on the joints has helped. In fact, with duct tape over all the seems, it has held tight through hot summer months. If I had it to do again, I'd prefer to have full foam panels to fix into place without fussing with all the adhesive.
