Wicked Cushions Hybrid Velour

Very happy with the velour replacement ear pads. It’s so easy to install and it restored my joy of listening on my Audio Technica M50. The OEM ear pads were literally falling apart after 10 years of neglect and these are far superior in quality compared to the OEM pads. They’re also deeper so it provides a good seal to provide a decent level of isolation (obviously the headphone itself doesn’t have noise cancelling capabilities). Only time will tell how these hold up. FYI the I had to vacuum up the flakes from the OEM pads before installing the new pads.

Finally now I can get some real monitoring time in without destroying my big ear flaps! I love that I can wear my Samsung buds+ in my ear while I have these monitors on over them and they don’t touch each other because the pads are so big they fit around the entire ear. The construction is premium to me they knew what they were doing, I just got a pair of ATH-50x for school the same day I got these pads and switched out the stock ones after I tested the sound side by side, the pads are really easy to install and I don’t notice that muffling other reviews were mentioning but I did knit ice the sound is wayyy more isolated and deeper it’s matches perfectly with my Fiio K3 and Headphones, overall I feel like they took my 150$ headphones and turned them into easily 225$ headphones. Purchased for 3+ hour long monitoring sessions and they fit the bill perfectly and feel so comfortable and plush. These are the best pads you can get right now in my opinion and you can easily let the get more comfortable by leaving them over the box when your not wearing them to break in faster but they don’t really need it. They are very easy to install just look at it.

These will change the comfort of your headphone in a very pleasing way. I tried over 5 different earcups for my M50xbt2, and this one is by far my favorite. They feel like a pillow hugging your ear. The product quality is much better (not even close) to stock earpads. They were easy to install on my headphone, it took me about 3 minutes to put them on. I used them for about a month now and they still look like new. Do they change sound quality? yes, but not significantly. I recommend equing these headphones anyway, with the correct eq you can still get amazing results. I recomment oratory1990 presets. Just get the one titled M50x valor and adjust it to your liking.

I'll preface this review with explaining my rating scale. 5 stars = Would buy again and recommend to anyone to buy. 4 stars = Product as advertised, would probably buy again and recommend with caveats. 3 stars = Product as advertised but would shop alternatives next time around. Would advise others to shop but keep product on list. 2 stars = Product does the job but has poor quality and would probably not buy again. 1 star = Product does not perform as advertised, poor quality and experience. Would recommend others to steer clear of product. My experience with these earpads places solidly within my 4-star scale. I bought these as a replacement to the pads on my ATH-M50s that were old, compressed and had a finish that was starting to flake off. I was never a fan of the fake leather material on the M50s and they sat right on top of my ears and often got hot and uncomfortable. It made long listening session almost unbearable. These Wicked Cushions earpads are a revelation comfort wise. First of all, they are much larger. Large enough that my ears fit inside the earpads instead of resting directly on them. The memory foam and the velour cover are comfortable, soft, and don't get hot. It changed the feel of the ATH-M50s completely. Quality seems good and fit is just right. I can see these outlasting the stock pads easily. Now the caveat. This will change the sound of your M50s. While I do not consider myself a true audiophile, I do enjoy quality music and accurate reproduction. While the M50s are good entry level earphones I did enjoy the punchiness of the bass and the detail of the mids and highs. It was just enough to not be too harsh on my ears and though the bass was prominent, it did not take away from the mids and highs for me. These earpads really changed that. At first listen I immediately noticed that the bass was far less prominent. Still there and good accurate bass but much much softer. In contrast the mids and highs seem to become a bit more pronounced. The highs were actually borderline harsh on certain notes. I was really surprised with the change. I suspect the change in sound is due to the thickness of these pads. They are almost twice as thick as the stock pads. As a result, your ear sits further away from the drivers. I'm pretty sure the engineers at Audio Technica tuned the M50s for your ear being within a certain range of distance from the drivers. On a hunch I tried pressing my headphones in, essentially squeezing the earpads, and lo and behold, upon doing so the old sound of the stock M50s came back. Would I buy again? I think so. The comfort and quality are a big improvement over stock and that alone would afford me the ability to enjoy my headphones for longer. The sound change is noticeable to me, but I don't exactly mind it. You might reconsider if you are especially attached to how the stock M50s sound or are really, really into bass over all else.

if you've ever got the change to wear a pair of Beyerdynamic headphones, these are the only real ear cushions you should be looking at I got a model without the inner fabric, they flaked off in roughly a year. These ones don't have that issue while remaining just as deep and comfortable, and being much more durable. I use these for My AT M40X headphones making making electronic music with a bit of gaming and things on the side, the sound isolation and ear space is definitely an upgrade over the OGs so if you have AT headphones BUY THESE, I will say no more.

I was a little skeptical as I saw one insightful review that didn't praise the durability of this product, but many others that did. I took a chance, and I only have had them for a few days so time will tell about the durability, but WOW these are comfy! They fit perfectly on my ATH-M50x's, and make them leagues more comfortable. The earpads that came stock on the headset were too small for my ears and led to headaches over time, and I also had to take out my gauges in order to wear them semi-comfortably, but these earpads have an increased size earcup that can fit comfortably around the whole ear, even with earrings on. As for noise cancelling, I'd say they filter noise but definitely don't cancel it. Which is what I prefer, personally. The quality feels great, they're very plush and soft. I haven't noticed any slimy sweat problems yet (chalk it up to the fabric that actually touches your skin, plush!) I highly recommend these earpads.

I have always loved my mx50s but they were always uncomfortable to wear for any extended period of time. These have made me fall in love with them all over again. So much more comfortable than the stock ones and my (what I would like to think are well trained) ears can tell no difference in the sound signature. Installation was easy even tho, like an ape, I refused to follow any instructions or reference a tutorial. The old ones just slipped off and with the smaller amount of fines from my uneducated self, the new ones slipped on. Well worth it. 10/10 would recommend.

I'm a musician/producer and bought the hybrid velour/PU pads to replace the original pads on a pair of M30x headphones, which I use for mixing and tracking. The original pads started hurting after 1 hour of use, especially since I wear glasses. Comfort: The Wicked ear pads are softer and thicker than the originals. The drivers sit a little further from ears and I like having more room over my ears. I was able to wear the headphones with the new pads for 2-3 hours with no major issues. The only caveat is that the new memory foam pads make my ears a little warmer than the original pads (this may be an issue if you live in a hot climate). Construction: Seems decently built. The mesh membrane that goes over the drivers seemed to be of comparable quality/thickness to the original membrane. Theoretically, the velour front layer should last a long time while the PU sides will help keep some measure of sound isolation. Sound: Ear pads will sound different from each other. Be warned if you really like the sound of your original pads. I tried to approach these pads with an open mind. The first 10 minutes seemed jarring, but I listened to modern and old-school music for about 4-6 hours before coming to a conclusion. To my ears, the bass and low-mid frequencies opened up and became less muddy. I was able to more easily make out the fundamental frequency of the bass guitar and kick drum on many songs. The treble frequencies also seemed to become more sibilant/sharper (possibly as a result of reduced low-mid mud). For some old-school Motown and jazz songs, the treble and hi-mids may be a little too pronounced but for more most modern music, the it worked out okay. Overall, I would characterize the sound of these new pads as being less warm but more clear than the originals. Your mileage may vary depending on your own ears and headphones. Overall: I am keeping these for the comfort, especially on long mixing/production sessions. The increased bass and low-mid clarity is useful for mixing. These ear pads may not be for you if you are are partial to the original sound of your headphones.

Extremely comfortable replacement earpads, also free of all BPA's according to their website (which is good, I have a Cloud III headset and it has recently come under scrutiny for the plastics and components used). This helps reduce what is in contact with your skin for long sessions. They increase the noise isolation so the sound is improved slightly and are very easy to install *PROVIDING* you follow the video on Wickedcushions website/Youtube for your particular model of headset. I didn't get the cooling ones so they are a little bit warmer than the OEM's but not terrible

The normal ear pads that come with the headset don't last long and fall part after a couple of months. These on the other hand have lasted very well and fit nicely while being really comfortable.
