I picked up three of these Southlight HDMI cables recently to upgrade my work and gaming setup, needing something reliable for 4K content. Straight out of the packaging, the difference between these and standard plastic cables is immediately obvious; they feel substantial and well-made. The Good: • Build Quality: The construction is excellent. The connector heads have a metal finish (looks like aluminium or zinc alloy) that feels cool to the touch and premium, not like cheap plastic that might crack. • Performance: I’ve tested all three cables I ordered, and they all work perfectly with no signal dropouts or flickering. • Durability: The braided nylon outer layer is thick and feels like it will withstand a lot of wear and tear over time. • Secure Fit: The connectors plug in with a satisfying 'click' and don't feel loose in the ports. The Bad: • Stiffness: Because the braiding is so thick and durable, the cable is notably stiff. It is not easy to bend, which made it a bit of a struggle to manage the cables behind a TV that is close to the wall. Verdict: If you need a high-speed cable that looks the part and feels bombproof, these are excellent value. Just be mindful if you have a very tight space behind your TV cabinet, as you’ll need a bit of room to curve the cable.

🖥 The cable arrives as a single 5 m HDMI 2.1 lead with a braided outer layer, gold-plated connectors, and aluminium housings, all looped in a card box. It supports resolutions up to 8K at 60 Hz and 4K at 120 Hz, with a claimed 48 Gbps bandwidth, and is compatible with HDR, HDCP, eARC, and earlier HDMI versions. I bought two at the same time and both performed consistently and I used them with two 65-inch televisions and had no problems with signal stability or general image quality. I have not tested it to its highest specification, so only time will show how it performs under more demanding conditions, but it handled everyday video without any issues. 🖥 The cable is quite thick and stiff. In my case this worked to my advantage, as I needed to feed it behind a wall-mounted television and the rigidity made it easier to guide into place without it collapsing or slipping away. Some people may find the stiffness less suitable if tight bends are required, and it does not spring back to shape very readily. Otherwise, the build feels secure and the connectors fit firmly. The only other negative if I am being picky is that the connector ends are slightly bent downwards and are not completely level with the connector body. This does not seem to affect performance and is probably indicative of the price point. For £8.49, it compares well with similar 5 m HDMI 2.1 leads, and I consider 4 out of 5 a fair rating. ✔️

Quite a sturdy cable and converts to 4k nicely

I thought it was time to upgrade my HDMI cable for my PS5 Pro and although most of the reviews for this cable are positive, with a £6 price tag (3M), I wasn’t expecting much. Man was I wrong! This cable makes blues bluer, greens greener and everything on screen just looks brighter and sharper. My PS5 games look like they’ve had a major graphics update. Totally blown away by the difference in quality, pure night and day difference.

3m is just enough for me. Pictures on the TV is really good. It was a good buy

Ran this cable from a new Samsung QLed. Utalised the HDMI eARC to the Sonos arc soundbar and worked perfectly and recognized the connection first time. Sound quality is great, very happy with the cabling.

Cable long et résistant, attention il et épais donc pensez au poids du câble, si votre TV et suspendue, prévoyez quelque chose pour soutenir le câble afin qu'il ne plie pas la prise dans la TV ! Si vous utilisez des maintiens de câble en scratch faites attention de ne pas mettre le gripp' côté câble sinon vous allez abîmer le revêtement du câble. C'est un petit détail qui pourrai être ajouter à la description car j'ai fait cette erreur. Pour vous donner une idée à gauche câble de taille standard et à droite le câble en question

High quality HDMI cable produces excellent video and sound at a great price. Great being able to buy in the 5 metre length to allow me to run it through the ceiling between the projector and receiver without having to much cable shown.

Great price and also made well. It’s just as sturdy as the 15yr old $50 one I replaced it with. It’s also a decent length.
