Don't bother with any other option at this price.
Before I start this review, I will say this: Get this controller, now. I was in the market for a backup controller, something that maybe wasn't as nice as my ~$70 daily driver, but was still solid enough to play some games at a low price. The 8BitDo UIt 2C has blown every expectation I had of it out of the water, and that is considering the fact I knew a lot of people praised it for being a great low budget option. From the moment I unboxed the 2C, I knew I was in for a treat, I loved the way the buttons felt, the travel on the triggers, the responsiveness of the sticks, everything. The controller itself is made out of plastic, but it by no means feels cheap. The back of the controller has a textured grip that doesn't feel overwhelmingly tacky, the thumbsticks have a nice smooth convex rubber top, with the sides being a rougher, grippier texture that grabs onto your fingers well. The controller is reasonably lightweight without feeling cheaply made, and the shape makes it easy to use during extended play sessions. In terms of the feel in actual gameplay, it is awesome. The hall effect triggers and sticks make tolerances very tight, and it's awesome for durability as you realistically cannot get stick drift like you would with first party controllers that cost double. I've used this controller in all three modes, with 2.4GHz wireless and wired being my favorites. I don't feel any latency at all, even when I'm using bluetooth, which is surprising as that is usually where you experience the most of it. When connected to my PC, Windows just treats it like an Xbox controller, and there is not any setup required. The battery life lasts a very long time, I received it a month ago and I've only had to charge it once. I actually haven't touched my main controller since I started using the 2C, it is that good. I don't know what the wizards at 8BitDo are doing to be able to get this high quality of a product out at such a low cost, but I genuinely hope that they continue with the way they're going. Don't even bother looking at anything else in this price range

Can’t beat it for the price
Nice controller. Paired flawlessly with Win11 PC in an instant and is working great with Steam, GOG, etc. It’s a mildly textured hard plastic that I like. No annoying extra buttons on the back. It does have extra shoulder buttons but they’re unobtrusive and don’t get in the way. No unnecessary and annoying LED lighting. Hall effect sticks and triggers. Has Bluetooth and 2.4ghz for lower latency. Pretty decent battery life. The form factor is good, but not the greatest. The shoulder bumpers don’t fall as naturally under the finger as the official Xbox controller, and all controllers are inferior to the ergonomics of the Switch 2 pro controller. You can’t beat it for $28 when others are charging $70-100. I’ll update this review if there are any longevity concerns.

Great budget controller
This is a great controller that works on Switch, PC, AMD over Bluetooth on phones which makes it so convenient. It feels very comfortable in the hand and has very precise controls. Absolutely worth it!

One of the best controllers for PC gaming
Bought this controller since the 8BitDo controller I had been using previously (the SN30 pro) was starting to show its age, and as usual 8BitDo shows that they're the best when it comes to quality but still affordable controllers. Feels excellent in the hand, great build quality and works great on PC with no hassle. Easily my new go-to, all-purpose controller.

Much better than Xbox controller
I would have rated this 5 stars but it seems to have a delay when pushing the on button. My experience is that I generally have to press the button twice in order for the controller to turn on. The controller was a more fair price than the Microsoft Xbox controller. The problem with the Microsoft Xbox controller is it required a software update which was only possible through the Windows store or an actual Xbox game device. The Microsoft store has a known issue that causes the update to fail, so I had to return it and purchase this one. This one worked perfectly the first time and was easy to update. In addition it provides wifi or Bluetooth connection. Works very well other than the issue with turning it on.

Quality product with amazing battery life
For a budget controller, this one punches way above its weight. If you held this in your hands, you'd refuse to believe that it cost only $30! The triggers on this thing are by far the best I have ever seen in a controller. Not even the DualSense comes anywhere near it. Shoulder buttons are so clicky, triggers have crazy good tension, and are extremely satisfying to pull. Even the two remappable buttons are just as good. The D-pad on this thing is excellent and has a nice tactile feeling. Playing platformer games using this controller is a whole different experience. Also, this uses Hall effect joysticks, meaning I don't have to worry about stick drift at all. The battery life is in a class of its own. Nothing comes close to it. It puts my DualSense to shame, really. The only downside is that the controller is a bit compact, and you'll find it a bit uncomfortable if you have gigantic hands. But that aside, for $30, this feels premium, and you won't regret it.

Impressive PC controller!
This controller is impressive. I would prefer to use a PS5 Dual Sense controller, but I've found that it is incompatible or only usable with workarounds for several PC games. The shape of the 2c is similar to a Switch pro controller, while the layout and button configuration compares to an Xbox or generic PC controller. I originally bought the 2c for games that the Dual Sense was incompatible with, and immediately found that I preferred it over the latter. It's comfortable, and it just works with everything. I don't have to fiddle around in windows or ask Google how to set it up for a particular game. The 2c functions like an Xbox controller, but I prefer the slightly inset profile. The shape and profile are more similar to a Switch Pro controller. The quality is comparable to first party controllers, too. Buttons feels clicky, if just a little too much. Triggers and bumpers feel good, like controllers costing twice as much. Vibration has definition and feels tight with no rattle. I haven't had a use for the extra L4 and R4 buttons yet, but they are convenient enough to access and also stay out of the way. I bought a green one of these about a month ago. I was so impressed, I ordered a purple one so my son and I can play together. For the price, I don't have many criticisms. I wish it came in different colors. Otherwise, for the price, this really is as good as you're going to get, and more.

Amazing Controller. HORRIFIC Software.
The controller itself is excellent—what we've come to expect from 8BitDo products. Buttons are snappy and accurate, joysticks feel great, good build quality, attractive to look at, etc. The issue with this product, and why it receives only 3 stars from me, is the ATROCIOUS software experience with the "8BitDo Ultimate Software V2." Where do I even begin... First off, when you attempt to launch the software you'll have to bypass a warning from Windows telling you that the product might be a virus and you shouldn't launch it. Which is fine honestly—Windows does this with a lot of driver and firmware type programs, so that's just a minor bugaboo. But once you get into the program, your troubles have only just begun. When you attempt to update the firmware on the 2.4G wireless receiver, the program will not recognize it when you plug it in. You have to plug in the controller first, then the dongle, but make sure the controller is in Bluetooth mode—because if it's in 2.4G mode it's going to try to connect to the dongle even though it's plugged into the computer via USB and mess up your firmware update. But wait, there's so much more! Even once you figure that out (oh and just as a quick aside, this process is not explained ANYWHERE in the manual or on the 8BitDo website—you're just meant to stumble along in the dark yourself and figure it out), you'll be excited to find out that when you select the latest firmware update on the wireless receiver, nothing will happen. The screen will switch to say "Updating" but it will just sit there eternally as there is no process actually taking place. So then you might think, "Oh, well... I should check to make sure that this wonderful 'Ultimate Software V2' is fully updated," so after you force quit the software worrying that you've maybe just bricked your new controller, you go into the settings menu and go to "About" and click "check for updates," to which you will receive the message "up-to-date!" But here's the thing: it's not. It's not up to date at all, you're being lied to—the program is just awful and unable to determine it's version and properly fetch the latest update. So here's what you will need to do: Go to the directory where you extracted the Ultimate Software V2 folder from the zip file and go into it. Then navigate to the "Data" folder. Inside the data folder, double click the "Autoupdate" application. This will successfully update the software (thanks Reddit). Then you can go back into the software. Upon launch you will get a bunch of error messages, so close the software again and then this time run it as an administrator. NOW you can update your receiver and your controller to the latest firmware. Yay! Now, as 8BitDo says, "You can use it to configure keys, macros and a series of other professional-grade features as per preference." Except you can't. It won't do any of that on the 2C Ultimate Wireless Controller. Literally none of it. You'll still get the same screen when you plug the controller in that will allow you to update the software and nothing else. None of these advanced features are available. All that having been said, the controller is fully working now in RetroPie running on an RPi 3B, both 2.4G mode as well as Bluetooth mode (although you will not get vibration in Bluetooth mode, unfortunately). The experience of playing games with the controller is excellent, but this software should NEVER have shipped like this—it is atrocious and I can't imagine most users being willing or able to figure all this stuff out. 8BitDo has A LOT of work to do to make configuration and updates easier for the end users, and until they do, I cannot go above a 3 star rating. I hope this review is able to help someone else who is struggling with this garbage software.

Excellent Controller – Great Value for PC and Android Gaming!
I recently purchased the 8BitDo Ultimate 2C Wireless Controller for use with my Windows PC and Android devices, and I am thoroughly impressed. Design and Build Quality The controller has a sleek and ergonomic design that feels comfortable during extended gaming sessions. The matte finish provides a good grip, and the build quality is solid, giving it a premium feel despite its affordable price. Performance The 1000Hz polling rate ensures ultra-responsive input, which is noticeable in fast-paced games. The Hall Effect joysticks and triggers offer precise control and are a significant upgrade over traditional potentiometer-based inputs. The remappable L4/R4 bumpers add versatility, allowing for customized control schemes without the need for additional software. Compatibility and Connectivity Connecting the controller to both my PC and Android phone was straightforward. The 2.4G wireless connection is stable, and switching between devices is seamless. The inclusion of a mode switch button simplifies toggling between platforms. Battery Life The battery life is impressive, lasting several days of regular use on a single charge. This longevity makes it a reliable companion for both casual and extended gaming sessions. Conclusion Overall, the 8BitDo Ultimate 2C Wireless Controller offers exceptional value for its price. Its combination of high-end features, solid build quality, and cross-platform compatibility makes it an excellent choice for gamers looking for a versatile and reliable controller. I highly recommend it to anyone in need of a quality gamepad for PC and Android gaming.

The best controller available for PC
I'm extremely satisfied with the ones I got; they feel very high quality, yet they aren't heavy or bulky. Perfect for small to medium sized hands and they will feel familiar to anyone who used an Xbox controller before. Connectivity is simple using both the included dongle or Bluetooth, the battery lasts for an incredibly long time, and they charge fast and using USB-C. The thumb sticks are extremely precise and have basically no deadzone and no drift. The triggers have a shorter throw than I would prefer but they feel very nice as well. The rest of the buttons have a very snappy and satisfying feeling. I can't evaluate the d-pad as I don't play many games that are heavily focused on it. The vibration motors are also very tight feeling and strong. As for negatives, I don't have much to say, and especially not any that would offset the positives. That's not even considering the aggressive pricing compared to other controllers. I'm very satisfied and already pondering buying yet a few more. If I had to point out something negative it would be how poorly communicated the extra features are. There's basically no documentation included either in the box or on the website itself. In fact, a few features from older models (like 0 deadzone setting) are present but you wouldn't know unless you actually looked online for how to activate them. The software could be more comprehensive.

Ottimo controller versatile e affidabile
