Cooks Standard 4-Quart Hard Anodized Nonstick Sauté Pan with Glass Lid

Recently, I decided to replace my very old, much loved 12" 5 quart saute pans because the non-stick coating was starting to peel off. They weren't very expensive pans but they worked wonderfully for 8 years. I decided on an updated version of my old saute pans and purchased two. One was ok but the second warped as soon as it was exposed to low heat (you could actually see the pan bow up as it got warm). Needless to say, that pan was useless and dangerous - it was spinning across my flat stovetop independently so it had to go. Since I definitely need at least two saute pans, I had to order a new saute pan. I came across this one & figured the reviews were good and the price wasn't too bad (more than I paid for the warped pan but look how that turned out!) so I decided why not & ordered it. When I removed the pan from the box, I was impressed with the construction & the weight. The lid fit securely and the pan felt good in my hand. After a quick wash, I used it to make dinner and absolutely loved it. It got hot much more quickly than my other pans and seemed more responsive to changes in temperature than the less expensive pan. Cleaning up was fast and easy too. I used it again today for meal prep for the week - chicken browned nicely & developed a nice crust, veggies looked good too. The pan seems to heat evenly, which is a nice change from my old pans. I also used it to make chicken tikka masala the other day & was very impressed with the temperature control. I would definitely recommend this saute pan to anyone who needs a high quality pan but doesn't want to pay a fortune. In fact, I was so impressed with this pan that I ordered a second one today.

This “Cooks Standard 5 Quart/11-Inch Hard Anodized Nonstick Deep Saute Pan with Lid, Black” is perfect for families or people who like to cook a lot of food at once. I love to cook but hate to cook every single day. I cook a lot of food at once since I am always on the go. The size works great for sauces and pastas. Although it is an 11.5-inch instead of the more often seen 12-inch, the depth of the pan makes up for it. The heat distribution has been even so far, and I feel like I don’t have to cook at such a high heat anymore. The durability of the pan is evident. So far, I haven’t had any problems with scratching on the bottom, but I try not to use metal utensils because I’ve had problems in the past. For anyone weak in the wrists it does have a little more weight to it than some pans, but having the helper handle is very convenient and, as the name suggests, helpful. I’m excited that the pan is oven safe, and look forward to trying that feature out. Based on other reviews, I trust that the pan will be just fine in the oven. Cleaning the pan has been incredibly easy for me. The grime seems to wipe right off. To extend the life, I haven’t put it in the dishwasher and just wash it in warm, soapy water. However, it does claim to be dishwasher safe. You’ll have to try that out for yourself. Since I am a college kid, I was not happy with spending more than twenty dollars on just a pan. I had to spend this much money on the pan to get what I wanted; a large, oven safe, dishwasher safe pan to let me experiment with my crazy trial recipes. I do recommend this pan for anyone who loves to cook, is always on the go, or just needs a reliable pan. I hope this pan works out as well for you as it did for me. But remember! If you want to get your money’s worth of this product, wash the pan by hand instead of putting it in the dishwasher. Also, keep in mind to use rubber utensils if you don’t want to scratch the bottom of the pan.

I love this pan.... Exactly what I wanted. Ok it's been almost a month and I have an update. First of all.... I have been cooking for 30 years and I know how to care for a pan. This pan has been good but has developed a small bow on the bottom. It still Cooks well but it is beginning to rock a little. I am disappointed but knew going into this purchase that this might happen. I will continue to use this pan as long as I can. The nonstick works great and is holding up fine. At this point my advice to you is..... Spend the extra money and get a pan the has a thick layer of copper or aluminum on the bottom. Update... It is now January 23, 2019 I still use this pan about 5 times a week. The bow on the bottom is bigger and the nonstick is still at about 95 % effective. Hope this helps! UPDATE... It's November 17 2019 and I used this pan this morning. I still use it about 5 times a week and the non stick still works well. The bow has not grown any since my last update. DEFINITELY worth the money if you can deal with a pan that rocks a little. Update.. It's now 2022 and I still use this pan 3-4 times a week. Nonstick is still about 90% effective. Bow has not gotten any worse. Definitely worth the price.

Big, got some weight to it. Cooks evenly and is non stick. Would buy the brand again. I have bought it before and am still using that pan with no issue. I’m satisfied with the pan and would buy again.

Very good pan for the price. I really wanted HexClad, but they are simply too expensive for me. I’m extremely satisfied with this pan though. I won’t use it often. It’s a very good value.

I purchased the set of pans- then came back for the deep frypan! I would love this depth in an even bigger size ( a couple more inches in diameter would be great for fried chicken!)

Although I had no direct interaction with the seller, everything went as expected after I placed the order. The product is as advertised. Very nice so far. (FYI: We hand wash only all of our pans regardless of make since that seems to be problematic regardless of what any manufacturers say, so far no problems at all with any of them)
