Have A Nice Day

Is it really 20 years since I bought this on CD and spent hours listening to it? Yes it really is… I feel old! Released especially for the 20th anniversary of Have a Nice Day, this double vinyl in a gate-fold sleeve is beautifully produced. Each vinyl is yellow, the A/B side is yellow with a pink label and the C/D side is yellow with a blue label. I have not actually listened to the vinyl yet, but I am confident I will enjoy it, given this was my second favourite album after Joyride. Classic songs like ‘Wish I Could Fly’, ‘Salvation’ and ‘Stars’ are on here as well as some hidden gems which should have been single releases like ‘Staring at the Ground’ and ‘Beautiful Things.’ A very nice edition to any vinyl collection, more so if you’re a fan! Eagerly awaiting the 30th anniversary edition of ‘Joyride.’

What can I say about this album! Certainly not as good as Joyride or Crash!Boom!Bang! But it definently their 3rd best album in my opinion. It’s a bit unbalanced with “Stars” being a bit of a Marmite song. Personally i didn’t like it much and even after 20 years I fed the same. But there are some cracking standout songs including “Crush On You”, “Waiting for the rain”, “Beautiful things”, “Salvation”, “Wish I could Fly” & “It will Take a long long time”. It’s very much a experimental album for Roxette and was probably ahead of its time when released in the Spring of 1999 with a combination of vintage Roxette and how they would sound going into the 00’s. Great album .

great fast paced story told in cartoon form but with very detailed scenes and extremely up to date current affair references. Recommended.
