Works well

I bought this for my home in NC. The humidity here is crazy. I do have to microwave the beads more often but I think that is due to the area I live in. I bought another one for my office in Reno so when I am there I can use the same product that I have at home. I would recommend this for anyone that needs to use hearing aids.

This hearing aid dryer is worth its weight in GOLD! I've bought several of them! ;o)

Hi,I have worn several brands of hearing aids all my life, as I was born this way. ;o)I'm seeing an incredible amount of incorrect information regarding these hearing aid dryers... and thought I could clarify what these hearing aid dryers do-- you know, the voice of experience of some 60 years worth! ;o)(Quick Update, had to say something! The reviewer before me, TooGalsGo, seems to have confused this product by Resound with a possible disposable insert unit, that is NOT made by this manufacturer. I own two of these Resound Hearing Aid Dryers with mesh silicone bead inserts as listed that uses the microwave to refresh the beds, and will be ordering more! I confess, I did buy my recent Resound Dryers from another seller on Amazon. As a teacher, I believe in education, so you'll find helpful information below this note. ;o)I've owned several brands of these dryers as well, and the majority of them came with the plastic meshed insert with the color changing beads that all work on the same principle, only the jar size is different-- for ALL models of hearing aids. And yes, I wear both versions of Resound and Phonak, that uses 675 batteries BTE aids, and they both will fit this jar very well, with room to spare! ;o)(Be aware there is a dryer brand or two that uses disposable beads insert that can't be refreshed via microwave... this model is not that kind!)That said, these hearing aid dryers are an incredible lifesaver to 'dry out' your hearing aids-- and help them function properly, as humidity/water can damage the internal parts, especially for the microphone parts, not to say, extend the life of your hearing aids. In short, these kits are worth their weight in gold! ;o)This hearing aid dryer kit is incredibly wonderful for those who live at high humidity and/or work out a lot, i.e. sweat easily, and not to say, impacted by a bit of rainy weather. The oversized plastic jar comes with a circular mesh covered insert (Please note that this insert is enclosed in a sealed plastic bag that must be removed and recycled/disposed of when shipped to you.) The circular insert rests at the bottom of the jar, MESH side up with your hearing aids placed on top of it, with the battery doors of your aids open. There is no need to remove the batteries, incidentally, as the batteries do not drain in this unit. I use mine daily, as I tend to sweat quite a bit from my workouts. I typically do this at night, as is this is the longest time the hearing aids will be in the jar, drying out, while I'm sleeping for the most impact. These 'jars' are terrific for traveling as well, and will have no issues at airports.Kindly note that, by design, these beads that are enclosed within this circular, mesh covered, plastic bottomed insert, must be 'dried' out in the microwave when they change color, usually green from the original orange color, after a period of usage. In theory, these silicon beads absorb the moisture found within your hearing aids, and after some usage, need to be 'dried out' themselves to continue working for maintenance of your hearing aids. To do this correctly, place the insert on a paper plate or paper towel mesh side up and microwave for about 30 seconds and let insert cool down for a few minutes. Once done, the beads should revert back to it's orange color. If not, you may have to repeat this process, but for only short times in the microwave, as the plastic of the insert could melt if heated too long. (I strongly suggest doing this on a paper plate, as it is not sealing in the heat as a regular plate would, and reduce the chances of melting the plastic bottom the insert. ;o)If you should happen to find a circular foam insert in the model you buy, it is for shipping purposes only, and could be discarded or recycled.Lastly, I consider this item the most important container in protection of my hearing aids; many times it saved the day when my microphones are impacted by water/humidity and saved me a trip to my audiologist, as 'incidents' always happen at inconvenient times-- like the weekend! I strongly urge you to purchase not one, but at least TWO of them; one for the house for regular use, and one in your suitcase ready for travel.Good Luck!I humbly apologize for the length of this message! I sincerely hope this helps! ;o)Warmly, Gigi :)

Hearing Aid Dryers are a MUST

Compact for travel, no batteries or cords, easy to use dryer for Hearing Aids. I like it a lot except they are non-renewable. I can't put little ceramic beads into the oven or microwave to renew them like I did with the one's I've had for 10+ years. Once the drying material is saturated this whole container has to be tossed. But... easy? it sure is.

Easy to use

Very easy to use, you only need a microwave. Heat on high for 30 seconds and drop in your hearing aids.
