Best in it's class!!
This is a fantastic speaker. I'm something of an audio enthusiast, but I can't afford thousands of $$ to put towards audio equipment at the moment. At the price, this is the perfect speaker for me. The size is also great; kind of flat and packable in a suitcase, giving it a portability, but too small that the speaker size is limited. Here are some pros and cons:Pros:Size: Like I said, the size is awesome. It's not super small, but it's flat. This makes it really easy to pack in a suitcase, a diaper bag or even a soft briefcase. So, this can go anywhere and be used in any situation.Battery: It has it's own internal rechargeable battery, so I can keep it charged and ready to grab when I need to run. I can also move it around the house without worrying about having to find an open outlet. The battery life is really good too (I don't remember how long, but I can keep it running all evening without it dying).Bluetooth: Of course, this is a Bluetooth device. So, I can sync with it from anywhere in my house. It also remembers multiple devices, so I can easily switch between my iPhone, my wife's iPhone, my iPad and other devices with just a press of the Bluetooth button.Durability: This is also a solid feeling speaker. There is nothing loose or sloppy about the manufacturing.Speakers: The sound is great! I was actually surprised how much bass there was, and compared to other speakers of this size (I've been searching for something for a long time) this is far, far superior. The midtones are what I'm most happy about, though. It's perfect for vocal music and it covers the entire vocal range beautifully. Also, there is relief on both sides, so sound is projected in both directions, making it a somewhat omnidirectional speaker.Cons:I haven't run into anything that I really don't like about this speaker. But if I had to put something, I'm not crazy that it charges with a micro-USB port, but it doesn't really bother me. I suppose it's good that it doesn't have it's own dedicated charging port, so it's easy to find cords for it. So, that's actually more of a pro than a con.Overall, I love this speaker. I know that anyone shopping in this price range and size range of speakers would be super, super happy with it. I've tried iHome, Logitech, Beats (more expensive), and this one kills them all.

I'd give 6 stars if I could! Simply fantastic!
This is truly amazing. I'm glad I didn't splurge for the next higher Bose model because at home this is ALL you will need (and then some). We have the heavier, silver $200.00 model at our Surgical Office and patients exclaim over the spend coming from "that tiny speaker" in the lobby and easily heard into all 4 surgical rooms. So I already knew the other version was excellent and decided to get a more portable, lower-priced model for at home. We use our cell phones to stream satellite radio, mp3s, and even YouTube videos to it through Bluetooth and are AMAZES how clear and fantastic the sound is!Considering that dome of the Mp3s and especially YouTube videos are recorded in lower quality, you'd expect it to sound terrible on a good speaker, but it doesn't. We have seamlessly paired cell phones, really old iPods, and our older, cheaper tablets with this speaker with zero connection issues.I think the sound on the Bose Colors is just as good as the higher priced model and can discern no real difference. It's easily loud enough for parties, to hear from many rooms away, and the battery seems to last us at least 8 hours minimum. We've never had it die on us and need recharging, so the limit is hard to say.Don't be fooled by the plastic outer casing on this speaker. It doesn't feel cheap. It's heavy and very sturdy and surrounding seams and buttons are smooth and quality as well. It's attractive and charging is no problem. We pick it up and take it all around the house. I would spend even more on this product than it cost. Nothing better than Bose out there. My only wish is that the unit itself had a basic remote control for powering the device off and on. It would be nice to just switch it off and save battery power while listening to music in bed and getting sleepy. You can still just turn off your Bluetooth device to go to sleep, but then the speaker power is still on.Anyway, I can't think of a single con for this and would give it 6 stars if I could. I'll be buying all of the colors and giving these to loved ones as the "best gift you didn't know you wanted".

Fully Functional and Great Sound
I love this speaker! For the size and price range, it's hard to beat. I mostly use it to watch Youtube and listen to podcasts on my iPad. My car stereo is terrible, so I also use it to listen to podcasts and music in the car. It's also great if you have a laptop with poor speakers and bluetooth capability.Pros:-Ability to sync up to 8 devices (a feature I use frequently)-Easily reset to factory settings when you want to clear out all of the devices connected.-Easy to cycle through devices until you find the one you want-Fantastic sound quality!-Buttons to control your device remotely (you can even skip songs or go back depending on how many times you press the play/pause button)-Charges using most non-iPhone chargers (so you don't have to lug around an extra chord)-Awesome colors! Mint is one of my favorite colors.Cons:-The battery life could be a little better, but not a major problem.-It could be a little louder. The sound quality is great, but sometimes I wish I could make it a little louder. Usually fills up a room nicely, but some independently made content (i.e. YouTube videos and podcasts) are recorded more quietly than their professional counterparts, so some added volume would be appreciated.

Like you are probably doing right now
This was an outstanding purchase. I had wanted a Bluetooth speaker for my phone for a long time. I received an Amazon gift card at work as a reward and immediately knew what I wanted to try out: this speaker. Like you are probably doing right now, I read tons of reviews. While this is not meant to replace your home theater system, it has far exceeded my expectations from a portable Bluetooth speaker. The bass is solid without being overwhelming. The bass best represents itself when you set this speaker about 3 inches or so from a vertical surface ( this could be something as large as a wall or as small as a Kleenex box) because the bass emanates from the rear of the speaker then reflects off of the vertical surface creating a larger sound stage then if the low-frequency sound waves just trailed off into the air behind the speaker. The highs and mid range are well represented and I have not noticed that the sound becomes murky at all.I have enjoyed that the speaker housing seems very strong yet light weight because I carry it in my backpack to and from work almost every day. The only downside I have noticed with the speaker housing is that the rubber on the top of the speaker (controls) lifts up from where it is inserted into the speaker housing along the edges sometimes. That being said, the controls on top of the speaker are intuitive and easy to use. I have noticed that if I increase or decrease the volume using the controls on the speaker it allows me to do so insmaller increments then if I do it on my phone.I am extremely happy with this purchase and would buy one again in a heartbeat.

Sound is awesome, but there are a few things.
My dad has a SoundLink Color I and it sounds awesome so I decided to purchase one when looking for my own Bluetooth speaker.First off, I thought I was buying the SoundLink Color I, but was delivered the SoundLink Color II instead. I read reviews on the second generation and some people have had issues with it so I decided to order the original. My dadโs has been great the two years heโs had it. When it arrived I was a little annoyed that I got the II, even though it looks better than the I. I messaged the seller letting them know that I didnโt receive what I ordered, and they should probably change the listing here on Amazon, but was going to keep it anyway because it looks good and worked fine when I set it up. They emailed back apolozing and said the the series II replaced the series I due to a software problem with charging and bluetooth and theyโd work with Amazon to correct the listing.Iโve had my speaker for a few weeks now and the sound is incredible. It really fills up a room when the volume is up and thereโs no distortion. The treble is clear and the bass is there without being overkill. I mean, itโs Bose so you know the sound quality is going to be good, and it easily connected to my phone and my Amazon Echo Dot.There are two things that I donโt love though. The voice that tells you every time you turn on the speaker and are connected to a device does get a little old. I didnโt think it would bother me, but I wish she just said โConnectedโ instead of the full sentences she utters whenever itโs ready to connect, I disconnect my phone or turn it on and she lets me know my phone and Echo Dot are connected. But her voice is pleasant and the sound is awesome so Iโm just dealing with it.The second thing, and Iโm not sure why this happens, is that sometimes when I connect my iphone to the speaker, the sounds cuts in and out. It NEVER does that when I play music through my Echo Dot so I donโt really get what the deal is. My phone has never done that when connected to other Bluetooth speakers or my car so itโs the SoundLink. At first I would turn it off and back on and it would be fine, but now when it does it, I have to turn it on and off several times and it still happens. So, I mostly play music through my echo dot.Overall, I would hands-down recommend Bose for sound quality all day long. This speaker sounds great, but these little annoyances will make me go for another decide when this one wears out.

THIS IS AMAZING!
I love my new speaker! I NEVER write reviews but I'm having so much fun I had to come out and play. This is so cool, I'm forever old, ancient and it was a snap to pair via blue tooth on my iTouch 6 LOVE IT! HIGHLY recommend it to all who are looking for a speaker as the first, last and ONLY speaker, BOSE. Those 4 little letters pack a punch and so does this speaker. I can't believe I was ever contemplating one at $30-$40, so worth the little extra cost, it sounds like one of my house speakers.I have only purchased Bose for the last 20 years of my life and should I live another 20 I'll continue to purchase them. I love my new speaker! The bass is clear, crisp an impossible from such a small unit. I still can't believe how clear the sound is coming out of the bad boy. AND check it out, my 80's music, I can actually hear the words! Sounds I've never heard from my old favorites are coming through on this wee thing. What are you still doing here? GO BUY NOW!

Excellent complement for a tablet
So far it is excellent for what it is- a decent bluetooth speaker for my new Lenovo Tab2 A10 tablet. I purchased it because it is the color of my favorite ice cream (not really kidding either) Pairing it was easy and size is perfect for my needs at the second with the small footprint. It offers more depth than the speaker on the tablet itself.I could clearly hear the bass lines of Go You Own Way from Fleetwood Mac's the Dance on Qello. Now also note, that I had some credits/gift cards so my opinion is I admit somewhat biased by my $41 out of pocket charge ($96).In terms of distance, I found after around 20-25 feet the signal dropped out from the tablet. However, from another room the sound projected better than I expected. I am still going to go look back at the Soundlink Mini and Soundlink III. However, out of pocket cost was my #1 priority.I did listen at a box store the Altec Lansing Life Jacket, which didn't have good durability ratings with the plug. I still might look at it again as I might purchase another speaker at some point

Very Convenient, Decent Sound, Low Value/Quality for Price
I purchased 4 Portable Bluetooth Speakers ranging in price from $79 - $129. As always, reviews without context are rather useless for me as it's impossible to establish a baseline. So while this review can hopefully stand in isolation, it's also heavily contrasted against 3 other bluetooth speakers:1. Klipsch KMC1 @ $1292. Polk Audio Camden @ $903. Klipsch GiG @ $804. Bose SoundLink @ $129CONNECTIVITY and USABILITY: Plugged in the Bose to begin charging, turned it on, pushed the Bluetooth button (an automated voice began guiding me through), "Bose SoundLink" appeared on my iPhone, the device was synced (as indicated by the voice). Total sync time: less than 10 seconds. The PLAY/PAUSE and VOL +/- buttons controlled the Music app on my phone quickly and consistently.PORTABILITY and STYLE: the SoundLink is light yet feels durable (perhaps b/c of it's low critical mass -- feels like a large fall could crack the plastic, but not affect the electronics). The wall plug is extremely sleek (the two prongs fold into the VERY slim wall wart). I liked the "aquatic" styling of this unit as it felt simple yet slightly retro. It's likely to tip over pretty easily.SOUND: the sound quality is just okay on this. Personally, I believed it to be the weakest of the 4. It handled low to medium volumes fairly well, but distorted towards the upper-end of its limit -- both in bass and general speaker overload. The overall sound is slightly muffled with some inflated mid-bass (the type of bass Bose is famous for -- the type of bass you hear but don't feel: boomy). Granted, you're not going to "feel" bass on anything this small, but even the bass you hear is the upper bass. I'd rate the sound a 5/10, however, had I NOT tested the other four in the group the lack of sound quality would not have been as apparent. The overall VOLUME was also the weakest of the bunch.BATTERY LIFE: TBD...CONCLUSION: If this were $75 I'd have liked it a lot more, if only just for the extreme portability and extreme ease of use. The Bose markup is ridiculous on this.

what great sound! I paired it with my Macbook pro ...
WOW, what great sound! I paired it with my Macbook pro within 10 seconds and had music playing beautifully for the first time in the house in years! I'm so glad I purchased this. I've been looking for a small sound system for, as I said, years but was always reticent because of the price. I trust Bose to have a great sound but couldn't believe the price here. I crossed my fingers and got my wish. Now Christmas music fills the house once again. I can't wait until summer to blast some tunes out on the deck! Oh and I also bought a cable,(it's reviewed in my profile too) that successfully connects my older 6th gen iPod nano to the Bose and it works perfectly. Couldn't be happier!

REMAINS TO BE SEEN
I really want to love this speaker. The colour is great and the sound IS AMAZING. The speaker was easy to set up and is very intuitive to use. The sound is high enough that I can listen to music from wherever I am in my two bedroom apartment. However, I am having issues with it crackling and cutting out already. Also the charger has three separate parts to put together and none of them fit well. I find the charge cable is falling out a lot. I am sticking with it for now because I really want it to be great, but if I keep having issues, I will be returning the speaker.

Nice Portable Speaker
This is a great little unit. The bass isn't strong, and it's not meant to 'blast' music. But for a small and portable unit, it works. It's great for music in the bathroom while having a bath, or when traveling (in a hotel room). The on/off button is a bit finicky, but once I became accustomed to using it, it was fine.
