order size and size chart are confusing!
The "order size" is different to "size chart". US size vs Australian. One assumes that if there is a size chart the order size is the Australian size. That is not the case. Confusing. when I went to return and order the right size the Price is $145 more!! I should add these are the greatest boots made ever! I have owned many pairs one that I still wear is close to 20 years old and repaired once or twice by RM Williams

Beautifully made
Beautifuly made, one piece leather. When new, can be a little hard to put on and take off.

Y'all should be ashamed!
I'l apologize to RMW now because I'm about to leave the worst review possible. 1) why would you make a boot close to $600 with a Texon insole, no midsole, clastic toe puff/heel counter, and a fiberboard heel stack? 2) why would you price this boot for close to $600 with the materials that you use? It's a rip off. 3) why is the leather so thin and looks to be painted to correct the grain? 4) why don't you disclose the type of leather you use or the source of the leather? That's important to most people. I've been buying majority of Grant Stone footwear. Over the past 4-5yrs I have been exclusively buying GS footwear and their footwear are 1/2 the price of these and they use all leather. Leather insole, heel stack, midsole, heel counter and toe puff. Their leather is nice. Not too thick and not too thin. GS is also transparent with the tanneries that they use. Usually their leathers comes from CFS or Horween. Most people paying $600+ for a pair of footwear are going to wonder where the leather comes from and how it patinates over time. I ended up returning this boots because they felt cheap however, I did buy their Comfort Craftsmans in a Side Zip from their website and it was the same thing. I kept it because 1) it looks sharp(I'll give that to y'all) the chisel toe looks really nice even on these. 2) I've never had a toe track going down the middle of the suppers like these and the side zip boots. 3) they ARE super comfy out the box. No break in period needed probably due to the thin uppers and Texon insole. I did not know what Texon is however, after research it's just thick poron. Probably the same poron that Thursday uses in their $285 and below priced boots. Not the heritage line. I know because I have 2 pairs of Thursday's and Texon seems 100% exactly alike. Why would you put a thick poron insole in a $600+ pair of boots? It makes not sense. People who spend 1/2 a mortgage payment or car note want stuff that will last. Most of us that aren't chasing fast fashion and labels. If I was a millionaire I still wouldn't buy something solely based on labels and if I'm going to spend $600+ on something, I want it to last a long time. I have 25 pairs of Goodyear welted footwear in my collection and I expect them to last me a decade if not longer per pair. This boot and the side zip boot doesn't give me the confidence they will last me 5yrs. I understand RMW's has been around a long time and it's almost as famous as the Alden Indy's however, I don't have the Indy's either. It's so hard to find a pair of footwear that can go toe to toe with GS and come out on top. I do not compare PNW boots to the type of boots I like. AGain, I will give it to you. The boots are very comfortable however, for the price everything should be leather. I know some wouldn't care and I'm sure there is a reason for using non-leather materials outside of saving money and earning more in profits but I ask, "what is the reasoning?" FWIW, I returned these boots but I kept the Side Zip because I really like the chisel toe. I just wished y'all shed Cxl or at least listed the tannery that you used. Don't you feel the consumer has a right to know rather than making it ambiguous? My side zip literally only said "waxy tan pull-up." What on earth does that mean? I am going back to GS and I pray that my side zip will last me 5yrs of wear without the need for a new outsole. If and when that happens I will certainly ask for the cobbler to put in a leather insole, midsole, and heel stack. Then it would be a super nice boot but at my expense. RMW really should be ashamed of themselves.

These boots do not fit to size
I purchased these boots based upon everyone’s glowing recommendations. I can tell you that they do not fit to size. I think it’s unreasonable to expect a customer will wear super tight fitting boots for days to set the size. I appreciate quality but I don’t think they’re worth it and since that time I purchased a couple that I have liked much more. The return process was quite onerous and I really haven’t got that kind of time. I think that if you’re willing to be a uncomfortable for days and days, you might have better luck. I just was unwilling to do that.

Nice shoe but had a defect
Beautiful shoe with very nice leather. Extremely comfortable for a Chelsea boot. Unfortunately, I had to return due to the adhesive under the sole coming undone, creating an air gap that made a popping sound with each step. Would have had to go to a cobbler to fix.

Uncomfortably overrated!
Incredibly uncomfortable and overrated! Aside from the fact these are nothing like the photo and are much darker, and are the “Comfort” Craftsman, they’re comically misshapen and uncomfortable. If you have a vintage pair of RMW, these are nothing like it. They don’t make them like they used to anymore.
