4 Month Growth update After 4 months I have found Jacaranda's to be very temperamental about climate in the seedling stage. Of all of mine that started to grow I am down to two remaining. I suspect that it was the wild climate swings with the HVAC at my office over the weekend that hurt them. The two that are left are beyond the swings and are now thriving very nicely. Earlier this week I shifted them to a new pot and it looks completely different. I love it! -- This is the little seedling packet that could. I have been very interested in watching its progress over time from my work desk. That’s why I have a ton of pictures! I got sick during my 24 hour water soaking phase and didn’t get my Jacaranda seeds planted until 36-40 hours after I started soaking them. 😅 They were very forgiving and about a week after I planted them I started seeing little sprouts 🌱 popping up. About 2 weeks after planting I got a little greedy and split the shoots into mutiple containers. I am now a month into it and they are continuing to grow healthy as can be. Part of the group that was split out went to another desk next to mine without a simple light bar over it. The size difference was dramatic after a week. I highly recommend trying this! I’m only a month into but it’s been fun to watch even if patience is hard…. If in doubt give it a try!

I had high hopes for this product, especially after spending 20 years in the nursery business. Bonsai has always been a relaxing hobby for me, but this kit was disappointing from the start. The materials felt cheap, and the overall quality was lacking. I followed the instructions carefully, but the seeds never sprouted. I gave it another shot with a second set, and within three days, the container cracked, spilling coco coir everywhere. Unfortunately, this was a letdown—wouldn’t recommend.

I’m a big fan of gardening, especially vegetables. My wife surprised me with this kit, and I’ve been thoroughly enjoying tending to these little plants. Yes, there are multiple plants growing, and it’s a slow process, but the growth is noticeable. Patience is key, and I think this kit is teaching us that. It’s beautiful to see the progress, little by little. About 75% of the plants that sprout are healthy and good. Don’t overwater them, but also don’t let them dry out. They provide great instructions to follow. The plants will grow to a perfect size for living room or on a desk. This kit is a great value for the price. However, it doesn’t come with a nice planter (they include small plastic ones), so I recommend buying one or two extra and planting them there to avoid transferring the plants.

I have planted 7 of the seeds i got in the kit and got 5 sprouts. So as long as you follow the instructions they do work as advertised and you only need water this kit provides everything else. The sprouts are to young to be able to say it's what I paid for. But if it turns out to be something different then I will update this review. But so far I'm 100% pleased with the results and this kit. You will need to get lava rocks for once they are ready to transplant and they will go under the soil. But other then that you have everything you need to get started. Actually I have 1 issue. The soil or something cause the pot to split all the way down 1 side. Not sure how that happened. So the pot is pretty much worthless. I have cheap soft plastic cups doing better then the pot included. Watch it closely for the first couple of days after putting the soil and seeds if using the pot coming in the kit. But I personally recommend going with a better option there. Plus they have the seed guarantee. If the ones they send don't sprout they will send more. That is great news. But if your experience is like mine then you won't need to use that option. Put your seeds in the freezer for a couple of days to trick the seeds, then when your ready to start germination they come out of hibernation and you will get sprouts. Maintain a room temp of 65 to 70 degrees and keep your soil moist so the sprout can push its way out of the outer shell and I will work. It took about 3 weeks after pulling them from the freezer to sprout a plant. But don't use a freezer that's to cold a cold fridge will also help with its natural winter cycle.

I bought this bonsai tree growing kit thinking it would be a great way to relax and connect with nature. What I got was a tiny tree that judges me constantly. 'You call that watering? I'm parched over here!' 'Your pruning skills are almost as bad as your haircut.' 'Why did you even bother with the decorative rocks? I'm a tree, not a cat.' Despite the tiny tree's sassiness, I've grown quite fond of it. It's like having a tiny, leafy roommate who complains about everything I do. The kit came with everything I needed, including seeds, soil, and a pot that's just the right size for my tree's ego. The instructions were clear and easy to follow, even for a plant novice like me. Overall, I'd highly recommend this bonsai tree growing kit to anyone who wants to experience the joy of being bossed around by a tiny plant. Five stars!

All the plants died

I was very excited to purchase this and grow my own Bonsai tree! I have done this process 3 times with 3 different seeds from the pack enclosed and none of them have grown. I’ve followed the step by step guide and it still hasn’t grown. I’m now on my 4th try and on the second day and haven’t seen anything sprout.

I've been working with this bonsai kit for about 6 months now and it's been a really nice introduction to the hobby. The tree arrived healthy and the purple flowers are absolutely beautiful when it blooms. All the tools included are decent quality - the little scissors, rake, and wire work well for basic maintenance. The pot is a good size and the instruction booklet actually helped me understand the basics of care and pruning. My tree is thriving so far. I've had to repot it once and trim it a few times, and it's responding well. The watering can is handy for gentle watering without disturbing the soil too much. Only downside is that some of the smaller tools feel a bit flimsy, but for a beginner kit they do the job. Really enjoying learning about bonsai care and watching it grow!

Nice kit, newbie friendly

Only one grew, and it's a weed. I don't recommend this kit. The name’s plant is Amaranto verde, it’s not bonsai

I'm giving a 3 star with benefit of the doubt. The kit is nice and organized, instructions are straight forward however... The pot broke after 24 hrs of planting the seeds. I came home from work to see that the pot just broke, no idea how and now forced to reseed. This is not the first review I have seen where the pot broke but this should definitely be flagged for the company and the people who buy this might want to consider an alternative pot.

All seeds bloomed. Now we add lots of TLC for several years as we see it grow. With a bit of luck added to the mix :)
