Anytime you think your lawn equipment or small engine equipment might need a replacement carburetor, tuneup, or a rebuild, try this first! I was absolutely amazed at the way it unclogged all my small engines that have accidentally been used with ethanol fuel. As long as you stick with ethanol free, all your small engines should run just fine, but if for some reason somebody pours fuel containing ethanol into your chainsaw, weedeater, or whatever, this will get you going again. Follow the directions exactly and you will be absolutely amazed. It makes all the other products out there that claim to do the same seem like absolute snake oil. Don’t waste your money on the other stuff, spend the money on this and be amazed at how well it works. You won’t be disappointed.

This product was highly recommended by a professional lawn equipment repair person. Put this in a lawn tractor that had been sitting for about a year with older, stabilized gas. It would run with the choke partially on, but didn’t want to idle. Followed the printed instructions. Next day, it ran like a top and idled like it should. Note, I only use ethanol free fuel in all my small engine equipment so as to avoid “ethanol death”. I’m not 100% sure how or why it works. It just does.

Works well

I had a lawn mower in storage for over two years and it would not start. After using Mechanic in A Bottle once, the lawn mower started but would not stay on. After using it again it was a bit smoky but the lawn mower ran great. You don't need very much so if you are only doing one engine I would not get the 2 pack. I have plenty left over if I ever need it.

Great stuff! I watched a review comparing this to seafoam. Seafoam is nowhere near as good as this at taking up water or removing carbon deposits. My only complaint is the price!

It worked and I’m really happy with this product! My Cub Cadet 1330 lawn tractor with the 12.5hp vertical Kohler engine had become very hard to start, backfiring on startup, and running rich. After seeing the success of Mechanic in a Bottle in a Chickanic YouTube video, I decided to give it a try. I drained all the gas from the gas tank, then removed the carburetor bowl nut, and emptied the fuel from the carburetor. I used Mechanic in a Bottle at full strength to refill the carburetor bowl by reinstalling the bowl nut and cranking the engine over until the bowl was full. which I confirmed by loosening and retightening the bowl nut. To give it plenty of time to work, I let it sit overnight, and in the morning drained the carburetor, refilled the 3-gallon tank with fresh gas and the recommended amount of Mechanic in a Bottle. I then crossed my fingers and started the mower. It fired right up—no backfiring, no smoke, and no signs of running rich. I ran the engine afterwards for about 10 minutes to get it up to full engine temperature and, it ran like new and now starts quickly every time with no backfiring or smoke at startup. Unlike many other products I’ve tried in the past this is definitely NOT snake oil and it works.
