I use these all the time for my cooler when camping make great ice

This pair of silicone molds designed to hold water long enough to turn to ice in a freezer, and they do that simple task very well. The form fit lid holds securely, although I am not sure if completely necessary to cover. The walls of the mold are not strong enough to keep the block square, resulting a slightly curved side to the blocks. Missing is any indication of a "fill" line, to show the amount of water to add. Since water will expand when frozen, ice that overflows the top will surely entrap the mold lip and make removal difficult or destructive. A rather expensive item to do a task that could be accomplished by many other means, but it does do what it is made to do. Because of that, I find no reason not to recommend purchasing if you find a need for these.

I needed big blocks of ice to keep an ice bath cool for distilling. These molds fit the order as well as the freezer compartment of my side by side fridge. There is enough give that they will still fit if the fit is a bit tight. I like the how they can be carried without spilling and have lids/covers that keep out odors, dust, etc.

Really great concept just wish lid worked better. Very difficult to get on when the mold is filled with water.

I usually try to make ice for my cooler at home and, when I need larger blocks, I've taken to raiding our collection of plastic containers for a bunch of flat, square ice blocks. These molds make huge bricks that are great as the primary ice blocks in my cooler. They fill pretty easily. I learned quickly that you want to have them sitting down in the sink or on another surface, since otherwise they'll hold more if the bottom can sag, which means the liquid will overflow as soon as you set it down. They're plenty rigid to stand up and hold the water in, though. When placing them in the freezer, I have either used a basket or else carefully positioned flatter items underneath to keep the water in. The lids loosely attach, by which I mean they will stay on but they stick out a little and will leak if you don't keep the mold level. I have thrown the molds in my chest freezer to forget them for a while, just to ensure the ice fully forms. They don't bulge too much, which is nice for removal. Overall, I love these molds! I think I might get some of the smaller sizes for smaller coolers or just for more efficient packing.

These molds are a nice thick silicone and pretty sturdy. The lids are a must have to keep from sloshing water around the freezer. I am happy and I would buy these molds again. 5 STARS

Got these to Make Ice bricks for a couple of reasons. First to add to my Yeti for Baseball tournaments, and to just dop 10 plus pounds of ice in the pool when the water starts getting hot. Construction is great, made the ice bricks nicely in our deep freeze. Make sure you have a good level spot to put then in the freezer. What is really nice about these molds is that you can fill as much as you think you might need and not have to fill completely to get a good block of ice. I highly recommend this product, we are very happy with the results we have had with them.

Heavy duty mold with a nice frame so that it doesn’t “miss” form or lose its composure and dump water out everywhere. There’s also a lid that covers it all which helps to some extent with keeping the form stable. The blocks are a great size for larger coolers and they last for a long time. Great buy and a world of uses!
