I tried this with my 2019 MIB2 infotainment. There are couple of issues. The Android UI resolution is so low that you can see pixelation on the icons - feels cheap. This is not a problem of my infotainment system since CarPlay resolution on it looks just fine. Even after connecting to a hotspot, Spotify and few other apps show no internet. Google maps works though. So pretty sure internet isn’t the issue here. The CarPlay latency is way too high. The map updates location 2-3 sec after I make a turn. I actually missed a couple of turns because of the latency. I am not sure if this device supports GPS pass through. Every time I have to use the android app, I have to connect to a WiFi/hotspot which disconnects CarPlay. So when I need to connect to CarPlay, I have to manually pair it again. Workflow is a hassle. I have compared multiple devices on the market and this one has considerably more startup time. To me, if this was 50-60$, I wouldn’t care but for this cost, the cons outweigh the pros.

Alright folks, real review here. I ordered this for my new 2025 Nissan Murano. Why do I want this? So I can watch movies. First off, after a lot of setup, it works fantastic. Any issues that I came across are because of the car, that has wireless and android auto, that my phone tries to connect to, and overrides this device. You have to disable wireless android in the car, and deactivate it for your phone connection to it. Then you have to make sure to use a pin to switch it to android auto mode while plugged in. I updated this for an hour with the July 30th firmware update. At first it took a bit, but after it rebooted, it was great! Lots of guides and reviews said there would be issues of latency or lag etc, and that's because the device needs lots of power. So I have 60w high transfer usb cables from my car so this gets plenty of power, otherwise there are power boost adapters online. What else? My car has a wifi Hotspot and so does my phone, so when I turn those on, the device works amazing independent of my phone. The YouTube and hbomax streaming quality so far are perfect at 1080p I would highly recommend this. If you have a new vehicle with wireless android auto, you'll need to tinker around with this a lot so it can take priority, but it's well worth it After

It works pretty alright, the software is a little goofy to use, it's basically an Android mini pc with CarPlay apk installed. It has a limited play store but you can load in apks if you're a bit more technology intuitive. I was able to auto boot into CarPlay through the settings so that's a plus. No connection issues so far. I'm using this in a 2020 Nissan Titan. Overall pretty decent for the money.

It works great! The video quality is amazing, with a very sharp image… 1000% recommend. What I love most about this box is that you can put a SIM card in it and it will work with its own internet so it's not necessary to Hotspot it. It has such high picture quality, and it let you have all your favorites apps on your car screen. Buy it! If you're looking for a magic box, this is the one. The first one I ordered came defective, so I returned it and ordered another one wich is the one that i have now. So below is what happened and how I rated it before. I believe I received a broken one. The image is not bad, actually its pretty good till it star to make problems (lines in the screen and blurry picture). When you use that box for 10 minutes, it starts to make those picture problems. I had one before and it worked perfectly for 3 years full use, always great quality... I'm gonna return this one and order another one again to get it with no problems. I will update this raiting and rate and add a video of the new box too.

I’ve tried a few of these CarPlay/Android Auto boxes over time, and most of them end up being disappointing once you get past the initial novelty. This one is different, and in my opinion it’s worth paying extra for a properly specced unit like this. The version with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage makes a noticeable difference. It feels responsive, apps load quickly, and there’s none of the lag or stuttering that you tend to get with cheaper boxes. That alone already puts it ahead of most alternatives I’ve used. A big advantage is that it runs a proper Android environment rather than relying on the usual “mirror” approach. Many cheaper devices depend on MirrorLink-style solutions, which often fall apart due to DRM restrictions, especially when trying to use apps like Netflix or Prime Video. With this unit, that simply isn’t an issue because you are running the apps directly on the device. I’ve tested both Netflix and Amazon Prime Video while the car was stationary during a hand car wash, and playback was smooth and stable. No crashes, no strange limitations, and no quality issues. It actually feels like using a small, dedicated Android media box rather than a workaround. Another strong point is flexibility. You can use it as a standalone device thanks to the built-in eSIM support. I’m currently using the one-month cloud SIM trial that comes bundled, and it works well for streaming and general connectivity without needing to tether to a phone. Alternatively, it also works reliably as a wired-to-wireless Android Auto bridge, which is how I use it day to day. The built-in GPS is also surprisingly good. In practice, it’s as accurate as my phone, which means navigation apps behave exactly as you would expect without needing to rely on the handset. Overall, this is one of the few devices in this category that actually delivers on its promise. It’s not just a workaround for CarPlay, it’s effectively a small Android system integrated into your car. If you are considering one of these boxes, I would strongly recommend spending a bit more and getting a higher-spec model like this rather than going for a cheaper option that ends up being frustrating to use.

CarlinKit ist absolut genial. Ich nutze beim MB GLE funktioniert ohne Probleme. Es ist zwar Umstellung für den Nutzer am Anfang, da man hier 2 parallele/ getrennte Menüs zur Auswahl hat. Original vom Mercedes und/oder CARPlay. Trotz dem laufenden Film oder Nutzung von Youtube funktioniert auch Navi (als Sprache, im HeadUp oder im Tachodisplay). Es ermöglicht beim Fahren entweder über WLAN vom eigenen Handy oder über SIM Kartenslot im Gerät mit einer SIM Karte sämtliche Funktionen zu nutzen. TIKTOK, Youtube, Netflix funktionieren ohne Verzögerung (wenn Handy Empfang gut ist). Die Auflösung wie auf den Bildern, fast über den ganzen rechten Monitor. Ich finde in Ordnung Beim Auswahl der Sprache sollte man Wunschsprache auswählen und nach ganz nach oben schieben (1) ! Hatte am Anfang auch Schwierigkeit es hinzubekommen. Allerdings diese Funktionen können während der Fahrt ablenken! Für andere Mitfahrer während der Fahrt ist echt genial. Der Presi ist nicht billig, aber ich habe es nicht bereut. Funktionen, wie man sich wünscht, um während der Fahrt nutzen zu können.
