What you are experiencing from the apartment above is structure borne noise. No ceiling tile will help with that. We would recommend you talk to an acoustical consultant.

No. It’s like a crushed cardboard material. Like office ceiling tiles.

Quick shipment, exactly what we needed to replace several tiles. Be advised, these are not the ones with a dropped down, beveled edge that many tray ceilings have. Just make sure you are ordering these and want ones that are flush with your suspended ceiling.
