Evil Spirits is the eleventh studio album from The Damned. Released on 13 April 2018, it is their first album in ten years and was produced by famed producer Tony Visconti who is best known for his work with David Bowie. Review: The damned come of age - The Damned finally mature delivering a magnificent set of songs which embrace previous genres. In reviewing this cd it's difficult to comprehend how a band during the punk era can vilify those predecessors that have so clearly influenced the outcome of this work. On listening to the opener 'standing on the edge of tomorrow' one could feel that they are listening to the Moody Blues in search of a lost chord, but somehow, it seems relevant today. The next track 'devil in disguise' (is Monty singing this song)? is pure genius, the lyrics are sublime. Look left is pure perfection with Monty's organ providing a crescendo during the final moments. The bass playing here is also amazing. Shadow Evocation and procrastination once again return to Moody's territory and even Iggy's lust for life but the gem here is daily liar with it's opening horns reminicent of Penny Lane. I don't care, who would have thought that the Damned would produce such a ballad. From the first album Damned Damned Damned which embraced a new volitoil brand of music, the damned have finally reached the age of maturity and delivered one of the best albums in the last 20 years, helped no doubt by the precision production of Tony Visconti. This album is a treasure to behold Review: Should be Mercury nominated. - Okay I am a Damned fan of many years standing. So. This is the best and most complete sounding album since Stawberries. It was not what I was expecting but I cannot take this off the turntable. This is bourne out by the them actually getting into the top ten for the first time. It only took 42 years.

First top 10 album ever - well deserved!
Great to have The Damned back, one of Britain’s most underrated bands throughout their career. Tracks are up there with some of their best material, and Dave Vanian has never sounded better! Superb to see Evil Spirits giving The Damned their first top 10 album in their 40 year career, well deserved!!

Fantastic to have the unique bass playing of PG on ...
Cracking new album from The Damned. As their fans are aware this album has taken 10 years, and the financial support from fans, to bring this album to fruition and well worth the wait and cost it certainly is! Lots of musical influences can be heard on the album all dating from the 60's and 70's. Fantastic to have the unique bass playing of PG on the album along with superb support from drummer Pinch and the keyboards of Monty Oxymoron. Captain Sensible and Dave Vanian show they are the Lennon and McCartney of punk if i say so myself. I adore 'Sonar Deceit and 'We're so nice' songs written by Captain, Pinch has chipped in with 2 thumping tunes as well.Just buy this cd and let the songs wash over you and join the ever growing gang of Damned fans.

The best band ever are back. Rejoice!
Absolutely superb! Rooted firmly in the period The Black Album to Phantasmagoria (with a fair bit of Naz Nomad thrown in). Has Mr. Vanian's voice ever sounded better? The Captain's guitar playing is subtle but very appropriate. And Paul Gray's bass playing is simply inspired.

Their best album for years - and it gets better with repeated listens. Excellent songs, great production, superb musicianship and Mr Vanian's vocals have never sounded better. Highly recommended from your old mates The Damned.

I’ll be Damned
After recently seeing the Damned on their 40th Anniversary tour it has rekindled me to the music I’d almost forgotten . So the Evil Spirits album was a must and did not disappoint. Damned good !!

I Damned colpiscono ancora
