These packets work really well in my 3-D printer, filament holder, however, the packets are much smaller than I expected

I can't say what "used" ones look like because they didn't change color or anything but appear to work well. Got water on the Macbook and when you turned it on, you could see the water damage. Naturally didn't have insurance to replace anything. I remembered that using these silica packets were better than rice... I used a Home Depot bucket and dropped a bunch of these in the pail with the laptop and sealed it with the lid. After a day, all the water was absorbed and Mac is back to normal. Lifesaver for a LOT cheaper than replacing the screen ($300). Definitely going to keep these handy in case I need them in a pinch.

Got this to put in my filament packages to keep filament dryer. Appear to be absorbent and th size is perfect. The price was great for the quality of the packets.
