Cookie Box Crochet Kit for Beginners, Bunny Lola

The concept is great, it’s a true all-in-one kit with yarn, hook, stuffing, and accessories included, so you don’t have to buy anything separately. It’s designed specifically for beginners and includes video and PDF tutorials, which is helpful in theory. The finished project is also very cute, which makes it feel rewarding if you can get through it. Where it struggles is execution. For a “beginner” kit, the learning curve can feel steeper than expected. Some steps, especially early techniques, aren’t as intuitive as advertised, and if you’ve never crocheted before, it can take patience (and possibly outside tutorials) to get through it. Materials are decent but not premium. The yarn and tools get the job done, but they don’t feel high-end, and the experience depends a lot on how quickly you pick up the basics. Pros: all-in-one kit, cute finished result, includes video + written instructions, good intro concept Cons: not as beginner-friendly as advertised, learning curve can be frustrating, average material quality Overall: a fun idea and a good starter concept, but it may feel more challenging than expected for a true beginner, best suited for someone willing to take their time or supplement with outside tutorials.

Probably my favorite kit so far! I just love him! The sparkly eyes! The big ears! The fluff ball tail! Love love. The kit is super nice! Love the tin. The supplies included are everything you need. I found the instructions easy to follow and understand. I'm pretty new to crochet. I've only done kits and critters. I would say this is beginner friendly, for sure! So fun! Really enjoyed this one! Oh and he sits up on his own! I do think the pattern had the nose more round and I thought it looked like a mouse so I made it more oval. I did my ears a bit different than the pattern too. Love how it turned out!!

Loved this item. The video and the printed steps worked to really help keep track of everything. We are complete newbs at crochet, but this kit helped me and my child learn the basics and, after finishing and looking up other videos, I realized it really helped with learning good habits with regard to keeping track of rows, and hand and finger placement while stitching. At first, I was a little disappointed that the kit didn't come with instructions, and you have to access everything online. I was further disappointed finding out that I had to manually add the videos to my child's approved site list for viewing on their tablet. However, once that was done, it was super easy to watch. I do kinda wish there was a rewind 5 seconds button, however. Because manually rewinding was difficult with the smaller navigation tools. I loved that there were chapters that you could jump to within the video, which helped jump back to where we left off the previous session, but again dealing with impatience of having to wait the brief time before it actually got to where we were (fwd 5 seconds would have really helped here)... As stated earlier, I was disappointed there were no printed instructions, but after connecting to the site, I found we could easily print the pdf file, and even found a pdf of beginner stitches and closes that really helped. After watching the first few chapters of the video, I was able to pretty much do the rest with just the printed steps. They are truly THAT EASY to read and understand. I haven't tried other beginner kits or books before. This was our first time diving into something I've been wanting to try since I was a kid. So, I can't compare it to other kits, but I truly recommend this kit as a starter for anyone wanting to give crochet a try. I do kinda wish it mentioned keeping the stitches even in size earlier on though.. but it was a learn-from-your-mistakes moment. The end product was just perfect! And I was left with plenty of extra materials that I even considered of making another, lol, if I had more eyes.

If you are skilled at crochet you may love this kit. However, me and my daughter are beginners. I have a few complaints. 1. The container/tin. Once opened there is no getting the yarn and supplies back in the tin. That is frustrating. If the tin were slightly larger we could use it for holding all the supplies while working on the project. 2. The container/tin lid. Why doesnt it snug onto the bottom of the container? Silly design flaw. 3. Instructions. The videos and online instructions are good. But, I'd also like it in print. A small booklet included in the supplies would be much more helpful. Ultimately. I'm not sure if I'll buy another of these kits. I'll try another brand and compare before buying this brand again. Update upon completion-While I did not like the tin, ultimately I had a great time using this kit. I would buy it again. I stand by that it's not for beginners. You need a little bit of competency with crochet for ultimate success. I utilized a supplemental instruction book to help me. The video goes very fast. She simply reads the pattern and shows you how to perform the pattern. Additionally, stopping and starting the video is pretty frustrating. I found myself utilizing the pattern more than the video. Additionally, I believe this is for a child 10 or 12+. My daughter is 8. While she can crochet and comprehend stiches, and follow stitch count etc, the exactness needed for these projects, she doesn't have yet. I am having to redo most of her rounds. I love it. I added the hanging thread on top. And I'm looking forward to completing the 2nd kit I already have, the pearl kit. It's a fun way to start into crochet and ultimately the quality of the kit is great. We will buy it again.

Ok first off, I wasn't expecting these to be as phenomenal as they are! I absolutely love to crochet/amigurumi. Ive been a long term customer of "the woobles", and even though i love them, tbh they are a bit on the pricey side, so I decided to look around and see if there was any other kits out there that were less expensive, and that's how I found "Cookiebox". I thought they were cute little kits, so I decided to give em a try, ans im so glad I did. Honestly, I wasnt expecting the cookie box kits to be this nice!!! The little tin containers they come in can be used to store your craft supplies or whatever you want. The quality of everything is great too, and is just as nice as the other more expensive companies, and they also are very generous with their yarn. You'll always have extra left over after finishing a kit. Plus, these kits are great for beginners and the instructions are super easy to follow. Another great thing about them is that they are very affordable. I bought 1 full sized kit (turtle) , and 2 mini kits (crab and squid) and all of those kits together cost me less than half of what 1 reg sized kit cost from the other company. The only con that I have with "CookieBox" is that I wish they had more of a selection to choose from, because I will absolutely 100 percent, order from them again, so eventually ill end up going through all of the kits that they have, so I really really hope that they will continue to add different characters, because as long as they keep putting out new ones, ill be there to buy em!

Absolutely adorable kit! Comes with everything you need although I did use my own crochet hook - the one that comes with it is fine, but I prefer my Tulup Etimo Red 3.25mm. I did do a Woobles before this kit and used some of the videos/instructions from them to make my Magic Ring and how to chain and turn. I found this Mini kit very easy for my second ever crochet project. The printed instruction sheet is very easy to follow. I would recommend the W ones for a first project and these as a perfect project afterward. Priced right, very cute, quality materials and I love the tin. The beginner yarn is so nice to work with and this is the first time crocheting has ever stuck for me, I think mostly because of the yarn. Love the sparkle disc that goes behind the large, colored eyes. Just adds some extra cuteness beyond basic black ones included most other kits. Going to buy one for my 13 year old who also just learned how to crochet. Great for both adults and kids. I also printed out the Basic Crochet for beginners guide from the website and have been using it as a reference and it is very helpful!

The product is cute and the yarn quality is good but it’s really hard for a beginner. I spent 2 hours just trying to do the first 3 steps.

Love that all needed items enclosed inside container. Quality yarn and great instructions video. So far happy, still working on item.

Kit perfetto!bellissimo kit per fare il mio primo amigurumi.Filato molto bello sia nei colori che nella resistenza,ottimo per chi come me è alle prime armi.Benissimo la possibilità di vedere attraverso il QR code i video e di poter regolare la velocità del video in modo da ripassare più volte quello che si è visto.urcinetto ergonomico molto comodo,occhi bellissimi e grandi che rendono il tartarughino adorabile. Se devo trovare una nota negativa è che tutto, il tutorial,il manuale da scaricare siano solo in inglese,ma cmq piano piano si capisce.Rispetto ad altri kit questo è molto bello semplice completo.

This kit was so much fun! I was looking for something simple and cute that wasn’t going to take too long to do. The instructions were so helpful and easy to follow - great to have both the video and printed version. Will totally buy another kit.
