I can hear clearly now!
Before you set this up download the LG app to your phone. It makes the whole set up and personal adjustments so much easier. That said, it was pretty much plug and play after that. No issues at all with connectivity. Sub woofer connected in about 20 seconds. Sounds fantastic. Yeah its no 7.1.3 but really sounds fantastic! The WOW setting sounds pretty damn good channeling my IPod touch for music. Companioned to my LG 55" QNED 80. Kinda mad at myself I waited a year to get this. Center upfiring speaker really makes dialog clear plus tweaking on the phone app I can kick up the bass and make the room rumble. Love it! I hardly ever use the included remote since my tv remote covers all choices I need to make. Sounds better than my brothers Bose sound bar that he paid more for & that didn't include a subwoofer. I never thought for less than $300 it would sound this good.

Modern audio at a reasonable price
Has a much more full and booming sound compared to my old LG stereo soundbar. Voices are much easier to hear and I don’t struggle as much with trying to find the “right volume” anymore. Finally being able to use Dolby Atmos is nice as well - maybe not as dramatic of an effect without the rear speakers, but still fills the room nicely. I would recommend turning LG’s “AI Sound Pro” OFF - with it on, I found it to be really inconsistent, even when calibrating it with my LG C4 - it was usually lacking bass and making voices sound thin. I suspect this setting is why some complain about the lack of bass on this soundbar/subwoofer. The bass sounds HUGE when you turn AI Sound Pro off, trust me. Using the Standard or Cinema presets makes it sound how I would expect across all content. The Auto Volume feature is a good one to turn on if you don’t want to have to crank the volume way up, and does a good job normalizing the volume, no matter what I’m watching. Really nice upgrade overall and didn’t break the bank!

Sound is crisp! Very budget friendly!
Snagged this soundbar for a steal, and honestly, it's a total win! The value for the price is incredible, and the audio quality is just fantastic. It's especially awesome for listening to commentary – really makes the voices pop. I can finally hear every detail without straining. Definitely recommend this if you're looking for an upgrade without breaking the bank!

Rear speakers impossible to find, but otherwise a nice bar
First off, do like several other reviews say and never enable "AI Sound" and enable Auto Volume. I'm guessing that "AI Sound" depends on using a satellite or cable service and it defaults to max clarity. Cinema gives the best sound typically on every LG sound bar I've used, including this one. Now, as for the bar itself, it's excellent for a "basic" sound bar, basic in the respect that it doesn't include diagonal facing drivers, more than one up firing driver, wireless rear speakers, and other more fancy things. It has the option to connect rear speakers, LG SPT8-S is the model, but I can't find them anywhere in the USA. Amazon Brussels has them, ASIN B0D4R92D5X on Amazon.com.be, sold and shipped by Amazon, but they don't ship to the USA. You can attach it to the back of most of the LG OLED models for a floating effect if it's wall mounted, but it fits nicely under the LG C4 OLED with its included stand. Connectivity is your standard HDMI eARC, TOS Link (Optical), Bluetooth (primarily for phone casting), or Wireless Sound Sync. All options other than eARC only support compressed formats, so stick with eARC if you can. Setup is easy, you do everything from the LG phone app like you can with modern LG TVs. I'm not a huge fan of it lacking stand alone WiFi/Ethernet connectivity so you can't, say, stream media from a media server directly to it, or cast high quality audio from a phone, but that also reduces IoT attack surfaces. It supports 4K 120hz passthrough so you can simplify setup to one cable to the TV from a streaming box or gaming console. The sound is excellent in everything from movies to sports to TV shows. With Dolby Atmos sources it will rattle your walls without noticeable distortion even on 80% volume so movies have that proper punch. The sound bar itself keeps the mid and high ranges nice and clear without being tinny, so everything from classical music to sports to movies really shine. Outside of Dolby Atmos sources it does tend to be on the treble side, but those sources aren't generally tuned to be cinematic in quality, but it's not -tinny-. Overall it's an excellent system. It'd be great if the SPT8-S rear speaker kit were more available, but as it is if you don't really have room, need, or the ability to place rear speakers, I see no reason not to grab this sound bar if you have an LG TV.

Tricky installation but good soundbar
Excellent sound. Installation was problematic. I have an LG -C5 OLED, so figured it would be a seamless quick installation through the HDMI ARC. However I could not get the TV remote to control the volume for the soundbar. After an hour of frustration including reinstalling a number of times I hit google and came across a suggestion to disconnect any other devices connected to an HDMI in the TV and then install the soundbar, then plug the other HDMI's back in. Worked like a charm and now get all the features including the WOW Orchestra connection. Wish the instructions provided this info -- would have saved a lot of frustration. Also, it is helpful to download the LG soundbar app or the Thin Q app to more easily set the sound levels. Other than that, so far (after 1 day) like it! Update: frustrating sound board. The wow orchestra feature repeatedly disconnects requiring a complete reinstall to get it to work. Lg needs to improve their product

Best budget surround sound option
tried a few options but ended on this one and it was by far the best choice. the volume gets very loud, more then enough to fill a meduium living room. its also nice that it has an HDMI in as well as out, since my projector doesnt have Dolby compatibility, so I can still get surround sound by just using a fire stick directly to the speaker. easy to setup and it provides the same surround sound as some of the 4 speaker setups i tried. overall great pick
