Buy The Cuffed Shawl and More by Hendrix, Shelle (ISBN: 9781464711961) from desertcart's Book Store. Everyday low prices and free delivery on eligible orders. Review: Fantastic Book - So pleased I took other comments on board and bought this book. Soooo much more than just a cuffed shawl. Some great designs and well worth the money, which I did think at first was rather expensive for one design. But since changed my mind - can't wait to get started. Good for both novice and more experienced person I think. Review: so simple but so stylish - a really modern take on shawls and ponchos producing some very stylish smart casual garments. There is no specific yarn brand - they just give you the thickness so you can use all sorts of colours and textures. There is a clear table explaining thicknesses with hook size and tensions. It is American so some translation is needed to convert their terms for stitches to UK's but there are charts readily available for this.An inspiring book of very simple patterns

BEST STYLED CAPE.
Translating into Tunisian crochet so that I don't have to keep turning my work. Have found this is easier than I thought it would be. It's a brilliant design and the other patterns in the book, although similar, are ones that I will definitely make. Only four stars because of the need to translate to Tunisian, I highly recommend.

Lovely little book
Just what I wanted. Modern styles which can be tweaked to suit yourself If you are having trouble understanding crochet terms, just google American crochet sts translated to English and several sites come up. Angel yarns is thebest These are the most common ones: sts British English USA - American English double crochet (dc) single crochet (sc) half treble (htr) half double crochet (hdc) treble (tr) double crochet (dc) double treble (dtr) treble (tr) triple treble (trtr) double treble (dtr) miss skip tension gauge yarn over hook (yoh) yarn over (yo) UK wool American UK 4-ply Sportweight Doubleknitting Worsted Aran Fisherman or Medium weight Chunky Bulky

cuffed shawl
I've just finished making the cuffed shawl for the second time. I used King Cole chunky and a 6.5 crochet hook both times and was very pleased with how they turned out. The pattern uses American terminology but only two basic stitches used so no problems there. If you did want to change the size it would be very straightforward. Do a few more or less rows. Mine did work out to the size stated. Very pleased with it

very cosy
The pattern is very easy to follow and the cuffed shawl very cosy and warm. It's a very good design. The booklet came fast and the service is very good.

Okay but...
The patterns are great but in Americans terms, so you need to know the equivalent stitches. Disappointed as there are only three patterns

Love this pattern book
Love this pattern book. Have made the main cuffed shawl twice now. It is a perfect garment, with easy instructions. One to be made many times over in different weights of yarn, as easy to use pattern for any weight with same size hook.

I bought this pattern for a specific pattern but was very disappointed with, first of all, the amount of yarn that was suggested was wrong to get the length pictured. I had to buy three more skeins to complete the project. Next, the pattern says to continue the increases to get the desired length, but you have to use your math skills (and a lot of paper in my case) to write down the continuing pattern. I think if someone is selling a pattern, it should be the COMPLETE pattern, which this is not.

The patterns in this book are easy to follow. I am finished up my first hooded poncho and will begin a new one after that. Directions are perfect. I am really pleased.

When I buy a pattern I expect complete directions not "work in the same manner as row 13, increasing in first and last dc with 4 more increases evenly spaced between: 70 dc" then repeat the last 2 rows 9 times. Totally disappointed.

Cool concept and readily adaptable for assorted size people! I was a little confused but after reading through the directions, I realized that they used the same patterns in several different yarns to show the effect. I can't wait to get started on my first one. The directions are easy enough and the patterns are not in the least tricky.
