Emily Feather Starlit Staircase Review
The final book of Emily Feather begins to tell us a lot about Emily. Holly Webb has begun to unravel the complex web she has woven, creating a new book. Journey with Lark, Lory and Robin as they show Emily things that are incredible, extraordinary and just plain weird. Emily and Eva, her mother, share a flying fantasy sent by the baby fairy deep inside Eva. In the final book, Emily discovers a magic from her loving parents, Ash and Eva. Emily Feather goes on a little trip with Robin, to another house. There, she meets her mother, Izzy, and finds out why her mother left her in the woods. Read the book and write a review. Byeeeeeeee!

Emily feels threatened by a new baby but she finds there's plenty of love to go around - recommended
One of the things I really enjoy about Holly Webb's writing is the strong emotional pull of her stories. There are real dilemmas and real situations for her characters dealing with real things in life: friendship, loss, bullying and more. I haven't found this series to be as emotionally compelling as some of her other work but this last book makes up for that a bit. In this story Emily is about to get a new sibling and she is filled with worries and doubts. Will her family still want her? Is this new baby going to replace her? Will this new baby like her? And because this is a magical story the baby makes its love for Emily known before it is even born. I really liked that aspect of the story. Recommended.

I happened to read the first book in this series when my step-daughter borrowed it from the library, and I fell in love right from the very beginning. She had already ordered the second book for her Kindle, and since she used my account, it showed up in my Kindle app, too. She then got the third book from the library, and I read that before she left to be with her mum for a week for the first half of school holidays. I couldn't wait to read this book, so I went ahead and bought it for myself. Holly Webb is a very entertaining author, and the way she weaves magic into reality is, well, magical. She captures the emotions of a ten-year-old girl who finds out that not only is she adopted, but that she has been adopted by FAIRIES! Worse yet, she is sworn to secrecy, and can't even tell her best friend what is going on. (You have to read the first three books to find out more about this.) Adventure, mystery, and evil forces must be faced, and Emily is beginning to find a kind of magic of her own. I certainly hope to see more of this series, because there is so much more to be explored about Emily's family and the world of fairies. Although this series is aimed at children, readers both young and old will find it delightful.

My daughter has all four books in this series and was sad when she finished the last in the series that she has.
