Review: Charge your batteries or power you electronic devices with one small package. - Finally someone is paying attention. Folomov an electronics company know for going outside the box with innovative products and quality to match has produced an item that I have been wondering for two years why no one else came up with this product or idea. I have many portable electronic devices which sometimes need power when in the most unlikely spots where no power is available. With this charger/power unit that problem is gone. I either have a flashlight or an li ion battery in a case in my pocket or in my computer/backpack case. Now not only can I charge the battery with this, I can also use that same battery as a charger or power unit to keep my other items running. So briefly this will charge your battery or you can use it with your battery to charge or power your electronic devices. I grabbed a 18650 battery and was able to immediately power up two phones with no problem. Now in my pictures you will see a meter I used to check charging rates and a couple of ways I used this device to provide portable power. You donโt need the meter I just used it to check power. The uses are limitless and I am so thrilled to have this after waiting for someone to make it and have it finally here. Unit has light showing if youโre charging or discharging. Pumps out 1,000 miliamps or 1 Amp in charging juice or it will charge your battery with the same. One other thing, these guys went as far as providing a reusable package to store your unit in If desired. Has a sliding feature to access and to close for transport or storage. Increadable? I am ordering more of these for gifts to my powerless friends and to place in my vehicles. Wonderful product and I cannot say thank you enough to the folks at Folomov! Review: Works well now - 2018-06-19: I love the idea of this product, because it would let me EDC an 18650 as reserve power for both my flashlight and phone. I can manage the temperamental magnetic connectors with a ranger band to hold them in place. But when I tried this adapter with my various Nitecore 18650s -- all fully charged and over 3000 mAh capacity -- it never worked for more than 15 minutes, adding at best 7 percentage points to the charge of my 7800 mAh extended S5 battery -- barely 500 mAh! By contrast, my 2600 mAh Anker Astro Mini had added 3 times as much charge by the time I stopped that reality-check experiment. I haven't bothered to try the charging feature. I hope mine was just defective. Instead of wasting money on another one, I will try a couple of the 18650 power pack kits I see on desertcart. (I had a Thrunite C2 18650 power pack that worked fine for half a year before it just stopped working, but Thrunite no longer sells it.) 2018-06-30: Gave it another try with a 3400 mAh Thrunite, and it took my S5 7800 mAh battery from 77% to 100%, thus extracting at least 1800 mAh. Other attempts: 1) a 3500 mAh Nitecore took me from 60% to 91% i.e. 2400 mAh. 2) a 3100 mAh Nitecore took me from 57% to 90% i.e. 2600 mAh. I'm hoping this level of performance will continue. 2018-08-10: Another try, another success. I haven't been able to replicate the problem I reported above. 2019-06-11: Still working great. 5 stars.

Would be great if it works, tried 2 of them
This would be a great device if it works as it should. I purchased this mainly to act as an emergency charger using a 18650 battery. I really didn't care about the capability to charge the battery. I got the first unit. Using a charged brand new 18650 batter I hooked it up to my iPhone 8 plus to see if it would charge the phone. The light on the dongle turned blue but the phone didn't register it was charging. I thought I would give it 20 minutes and see if it did something. Nothing. My phone did not charge. I also tried it on my iPad 6th generation. Nothing. Thinking the unit is defective I requested a new one. The new one behaved exactly the same way. I have returned the second one for a refund.

Great spare or bugout charger
Great for gym bag or to keep at your desk at work. The magnets can be a bit finicky when using protected cells though.

cute li'l thang!
I gotta say, this charger is downright cute. Kinda looks like an mp3 player for a frog. :D What else is there to say? It works. Snap the magnetic thingies onto the cell that's to be charged, and it charges it. I had a cell that I wanted to top off, and it did fairly quickly. Blinks red slowly while charging, then solid green when done. Can't get simpler than that. I haven't tried it as a power-bank yet, but it should glow blue when in that mode. I used to carry a 1-cell charger in my bag, but this is even more compact. A small drawstring bag would keep it pretty safe.

2 ordered. 1 worked. Kinda annoyed.
These are a great idea but when I finally got around to using them only 1 worked and I am past the return date. With the rechargeable battery out of my flashlight I was able to completely charge my iPhone in a little over an hour. The working one will go in my EDC bag to replace a bulky battery bank. The non-working one will be a reminder to open items as soon as they arrive from Amazon. Based on other reviews it appears there is an issue with quality control.

BIG POWER With A Small Footprint
What a neat idea! A MUCH BETTER MOUSETRAP! My son and I had been wondering if there was a way to do something with one of the broken chargers that he has (the kind that come with the 18500 batteries, equipped with the cheap tab and spring). We had looked over and over for some type of idea that we could come up with to make something like this, and it turns out that someone beat us to it with A BETTER WAY.
