There's not a lot to be said about this: if you need it there isn't anything else! My only complaint is that there is no digital version (that has word break points), so it is either leafing through the book or making assumptions. The book itself is small so the typeface is as well. Nevertheless, I don't find that a problem (possibly because I already need glasses for close-up stuff.

Essential reference!
For when you don't need to know what the words mean, but need confirmation on spelling and the best place for hyphens. This is an essential reference for anyone working with words.

Strange stuff ...
*Update: In around a week the price went by nearly 30%. I wish I could put my prices up like that. *Original review: I had no idea what a spelling dictionary was when I ordered this, but I am a curious soul and it gives me great pleasure to reveal that this volume comprises a stonking great list of words, pure and simple - and all, we like to believe, spelt correctly. (At least, 'correctly' as Oxford sees it.) It includes names (RD Laing, Rachael Heyhoe-Flint), places (Douglas, Cos), alternative versions (hiccup, hiccough, hiccupy, hiccoughy) and each word has one or more vertical marks (primary and secondary) that show the points at which you can break it between lines, if you have to. If I could afford a second copy I would send it to the editors - if any - of the BBC News website, but I think that may be a lost cause. There are 596 dictionary pages plus a 6-page introduction and guide at the front. Pretty impressive and good value for money. Developed with the Society for Editors & Proofreaders and published in the compact format Oxford is now using for other volumes in the series, such as Hart's Rules and the Dictionary for Writers & Editors. *Afterthought: Can you imagine the stress of being the editor of a spelling dictionary? An ordinary dictionary is bad enough, but the fear that you may allow a typo in a *spelling* dictionary has to get the old stomach acid flowing.

Niet tevreden mee!
Het is gewoon een spellingswoordenboek. Er staat nauwelijks spelling over de uitleg in. Erg veel spijt van!

Excellent reference for writing/editing English language
This is a wonderful reference for a writer/editor. It doesn't include definitions, only spelling and hyphenation points, so it takes only a few seconds to check and ensure a spelling is correct.
