Is the globe made out of plastic?

Hi, The globe is plastic but very nice.

Is the coloring of the continents consistent with what my child sees at his Montessori school?

The colors are brighter and more shiny I think than the average Montessori material, but not so obnoxiously different that your child would be put off or confused. My primary age Montessori students LOVED the brightness and appeal of this globe.

Are the continents sandpaper?
