Garment Rack suits my needs, solid construction
I ordered this garment rack (after reading multiple favorable reviews) to use when relatives visited, to give some extra space without having to rearrange our closets. The device assembled easily, and just as important, disassembled easily when we were finished using it, and ready to store it. We found the unit sturdy; it did not wobble, and took the load we put on it without seeming to be overloaded. It has two shelves, one below the hanging rack, and one above it. They were handy for storage, and there was enough room under the bottom rack for shoes. There was enough room to hang tall garments. I had no trouble rolling it to another location. I did place carpet protection 'coasters' under my unit's wheels, to keep from putting marks in the carpet. I would order this product again, especially since I thought the price reasonable.

Great product AND I bought it from Amazon Warehouse Deals!
I was looking to purchase an item exactly like this. Researched pricing on many websites. The best...Amazon Warehouse Deals! BTW....didn't even know AWD existed! Just tripped upon in when looking to buy "new" on Amazon.com. You NEED to check it out. (Scroll to bottom of Amazon.com home page. Click on "Warehouse Deals" in blue font.) Anyway, great product and it was new. The box it came in, however was slightly damaged. No Matter!!! Product was in EXCELLENT condition. This garment rack is really nice looking, and I have to tell you, pretty easy to put together. I am a 44 year old woman...assembled it on my own. If you have tolerance, a little time and are pretty savvy with our hands...you can assemble this by yourself. If you have a friend to help....even better and likely 1/2 the time. It took approximately 12 minutes for me to assemble. This rack by Whitmor is really sturdy; each piece has weight and clearly won't bend or break. I have shoes on the bottom, a bunch of clothes / winter coats hanging and a few small bags/suitcases on the top. Wheels on the bottom are a nice benefit, but I don't use them. They seem quite sturdy and they lock! Great garment rack at an amazing price!

Well built
This is a good example of "you get what you pay for". I had bought a much less expensive, larger, garment rack that was a piece of crap. Torn right out of the package and got torn further while attempting to put it together. Tried calling their 800 number, but the number was no longer in service, so I returned it and bit the bullet by paying more for the Whimor Supreme Garment Rack. It was well worth the extra money! Went together easily and is very sturdy. No problems with tipping over even when fully loaded with clothes. With the shelf on top and bottom, there is lots of room and versatility. No need to hide it inside a closet, it's attractive enough to have sitting out in the open. Directions for assembly were easy to follow and it takes very little time or effort for one person to set up. Thanks to Amazon Prime, it was shipped right away and I received it in just two days. Even with the higher cost, it is a really good value when you consider that this a purchase that is, no doubt, going to outlast the cheaper versions for years to come.

This is a fantastic garment rack!
Once you get this thing open and pieced together, it's great! It rolls nicely, is very sturdy and has plenty of extra space for accessories. The only negatives are the packaging and the directions, so I'll tell you how to put this together by yourself. 1. Remove the wheels and the 4 bottom halves of the pole (the one with the small thread on the bottom) and screw the wheels on. Decide where you want the wheels that are able to lock. I just placed mine diagonally. 2. Place the black clips in the same location on each pole toward the bottom by the wheels and lightly pull down on the clips to lock them in place. 3. Then, place the poles through the holes of the 1st rack (They're both the same), with the lip of it facing downward. I just held the rack up on it's side and inserted the poles sideways, then straightened it up on the wheels. Push the rack down onto the black clips until it stabilizes. 4. Screw the top half of the poles on, then place the rest of the black clips on the top portion of poles and just count the lines on the pole to make sure they're all at the same level and pull down to snap them into place. 5. Place the top rack on, lip down. 6. Find the center of the sides of the top rack and place the hangers, then screw in the 9th and final pole. 7. Finally, unlock the the 2 locked wheels and you're ready to roll. The only thing I'd recommend to the manufacturer is to make a pull tab to open the box. I realize it's a heavy item that needs a sturdy box but it took more effort to open the box then to put the thing together. Actually, the directions need revising too. You have the wrong #'d pole pictured to attach the wheels to and it's confusing. Otherwise, a great purchase!!

Survived a move
I bought this rack to hold my clothes during a move from one state to another. Included in this purchase was the advertised canvas cover. The rack is made of sturdy materials and survived the trip in a UHaul truck without incident. It rolls fine when loaded to the gills and the bottom rack was useful for shoes. With the cover on, the top rack is pretty much useless for storage because the cover slides down and rest on that rack. Any items you want to store on top would be resting on the cover itself. One thing to be aware of: The rack is held together only by friction and gravity. The two racks slip over the four poles and are held in place only by their weight; no screws or bolts secure them. This means that the unit cannot be lifted by the racks, otherwise, the entire thing falls apart. They can be safely lifted by the poles and this will keep everything together. While this design sounds flimsy, it really is pretty strong once assembled correctly. The only reason I did not give this item 5 stars was because of the poorly written instructions. As usual, these were written by blind individuals who speak no known language. Consequently, you are left to figure out how the parts assemble correctly. Even a simple thing such as which way the racks fit; with their edges up or down? The picture certainly doesn't make that clear. This is crucial because the corner tubes of the rack are tapered slightly (not obvious at first glance) which locks the unit together. REMEMBER THIS: the plastic inserts that fit into the four corners of the racks are also tapered tubes; their sides are NOT parallel. It is this taper that allows the racks to compress against the four poles and lock the pieces in place. This important fact was overlooked in my set of instructions, but is perhaps the most important point to understand. The cover, also well made but with one major cost-cutting flaw. It uses buttons to secure the front opening instead of a zipper. Consequently, it's not dust proof since it hangs open between the widely spaced buttons.

Perfect for off-season clothing storage
Pros: Attractive design Sturdy Well made Rolls easily Practical design with the easily installed rod and top and bottom shelves Has optional, sturdy dust and sun cover (SO important in Arizona) that fits perfectly and is an excellent addition (reviewed separately) Has optional shoes or garment bins The kit includes a couple extra plastic holders. Shelf locations are flexible. Cons: Assembly is funnier than a Marx Bros movie, if you do it yourself. I've used this design of racks for years, so I'm used to the slipping plastic holders and all the shelves collapsing and clanging around me, as the plastics fall out of place. I just lift the offending shelf corner and shove the plastics back up into place. Then hold together while pushing the corner down over them. Usually works. I found that the garment bin unit I bought to hang at one end was a section too long to hang in here.

Skip the cheap plastic/single rod closets and buy this one now!!!
FIRST OF ALL I don't write reviews but I HAD TO for this amazing closet. I am a college student sharing a one bedroom apartment and unfortunately don't have my own closet. Before I bought this one I had been through FOUR closets ranging from Ikea to Walmart and Amazon. I have used those metal clothing racks and the plastic ones that connect but none of them lasted me even half a year before they were falling apart. To be fair I have a lot of clothes and shoes so I needed something sturdy and I really wish I had bought this one before. This really holds a lot of weight and is super sturdy. It's not too bulky (maybe half the size of a regular closet) but holds SO MUCH. The wheels are super smooth and it was really easy to put together (I was able to do it myself). You can also adjust the bottom rack to be a little higher so you have an extra shelf to but things on (see how I have mine set up). I highly recommend this closet, it's GREAT!!!!

Great Product!
I purchased this item about 4 months ago after a lot of searching online. I wanted something that wasn't too expensive because it was only for summer clothing storage, but I also didn't want something cheap that was going to fall apart. I have had my fair share of cheap purchases from Amazon break within days, so I went with this Whitmore Garmet Rack because it was reasonably priced, not too cheap, not too expensive. I have been using this for a few months now and I LOVE IT! I keep tons of summer dresses on it (the entire poll is jam packed), I have shorts on the bottom and winter sweaters on the top. It says it can hope about 60 garments but I think I have way more and it's still SUPER STURDY. I like that you can wheel it around or lock the wheels. My mother is now even looking into buying it because of how happy I am with my purchase. I even took the rack apart when I moved this summer and it was easy to take apart and put back together. Very happy with my purchase.

Buen producto

2 years and going strong!!!
I have had this rack for the past 2 years and I love it! I needed somewhere to hang my husband's suits and sport coats and this fit the bill. I usually have about 7 sport coats and 7 suits on it, which are quite heavy and it's held up great. I could probably fit more on it as well. Putting it together was pretty straightforward, a bit awkward at times with the posts, but I managed to do it fairly quickly on my own. The frame is all metal except for the wheels and the parts that go in the shelf holes. I have carefully moved the rack around when it was fully loaded a few times and it seems fairly sturdy. I am 100% satisfied with my purchase!

Super sturdy
Super sturdy. Hold a lot. Nice gauge to the metal. You just need to be patient while putting it together. It isn’t difficult but so much easier with two people. Pay attention to the casters - there are only two with locks so put them at the front so they’re easier to access
