A very well-considered system
I have been drying filament in a modded food dehydrator for a long while now and it has been fine for PLA and PETG, but lately I've been printing more TPU and switching between spools more, so it's gotten to be more inconvenient. I saw the PolyDryer system on YouTube and liked the two-part approach: a "Dryer Dock" for heating and a "Storage Box" for both drying and long-term storage, so I gave it a shot. After using it for a few weeks, I can say it's a solid solution that addresses many of the pain points I had. What it does well: - The base heater unit (Dryer Dock) does the job well without being flashy. The simplified 3 heat settings and an adjustable timer make it rather straightforward to use. The chart with common filament settings being a sticker right on the dock is a nice touch that saves time looking up settings. Really couldn't be much easier than this. - The storage box box seals well and accommodates all my usual spools. It includes rollers for the filament to spin on, plus an attachment for center-hole support. I don't typically need to use the center hole, but it seems like a thoughtful touch. The boxes do stack on top of one another well, but they don't latch together. They don't seem to fall off of one another sitting on the rolling table I have two X1Cs printing on, for what it's worth. - You can feed filament into a 3D printer while you are drying with this system, or while the filament is stored/sealed to keep it dry. This is especially useful for very hygroscopic materials, but it's also convenient for even moderately hygroscopic filament since you don't have to dry it before each print. - During drying the included hygrometer lets you know how wet the air is inside the box since it and the color-changing desiccant are visible through the front of the box. And since the same box is used for long term storage, both act as a nice at-a-glance check to ensure the filament is still dry without even removing it from the shelf. - Two exit holes with included PTFE tubes make it easy to guide filament from the box to your printer. The air in the box stays remarkably dry after the initial drying process. What could be improved: - There's no way to switch the temperature or mode mid-cycle without either letting the timer run down or turning it off and on again. It's not a deal-breaker, but it's an odd omission. - The lid latches are extremely firm. While this ensures a good seal, it might be challenging for some users (like children or those with arthritis) to open and close. **Addressing some misconceptions:** Some reviews I've seen seem to misunderstand what they're buying or have unrealistic expectations. Let me clear a few things up: - There are two options in the listing. You can get either the storage box alone, or a combo with the dryer dock and a storage box. You only need a single dryer dock (though having more lets you dry more spools simultaneously), but you'll want a storage box for each spool you want to keep dry at a given time. This modular approach makes more sense than a single bundled offering because you typically need more than one storage box. - Noise Levels: In my experience, the beep isn't excessively loud, and the fan noise is reasonable for this type of device. I've used other food dehydrators and filament dryers that are much louder than the claimed 41dB. - The LCD display is functional and easy to read from most angles. While it's not a fancy full-color display, it does the job without introducing unnecessary complexity that could lead to failures down the line, and I appreciate that it keeps the cost of the unit down. - Some reviewers have compared this to units with more "granular" temperature controls. In practice, the three-setting approach, combined with the provided chart, works great. The additional settings of other units are really not any different than the dial on a cheap food dehydrator which often leads to false precision rather than better results. This all said, who is this good for? I think if you're willing to plunk down a bit more than you'd spend on a basic food dehydrator this is the way to go. Dedicated filament driers are rarely providing much more than added convenience, but the PolyDryer system is a well-thought-out solution that addresses the real world inconveniences of 3D printing with hygroscopic materials without getting caught up in unnecessary bells and whistles. It's a tool that does its job well without being flashy, which is exactly what I needed, and you might as well.

Great item for the money.
Works great with my PETG filaments. It maintained the humidity at 38%. Great value for the money. I have been using it with Sunlu PETG filaments and mo clogging issue. Very easy to install and use. Compatible with Sunlu spools.

Alot to say. mostly good. read for details.
The system is good, but not perfect. The elephant in the room is that the dryer is loud and takes hours to do the job. Think hair dryer in the next room over. its not LOUD, but it does constantly draw attention to itself. If you can put it in the garage, laundry room, anywhere you don't have to hear it or just not be home while its running, it does the job capably. The dry boxes themselves work wonderfully for keeping the filament dry for long periods of time. The one hooked up to my printer right now is at 15% moisture and was dried 2 months ago. The construction quality of the dry boxes is much much better than i had expected. very rigid i think it would take a deliberate effort to break one. Other reviewers have complained they are somewhat difficult to open, while accurate i don't think this is a bad thing as it makes a very solid seal between the lid and container. You should only need to open it to replace the spool once depleted. This will not accidentally come open, even if you drop it. Getting the most out of this system. The filament dryer by design will not get hot enough to completely dry the desiccant because that could damage the filament. The desiccant changes colors to indicate how much moisture they've absorbed, after a certain point they can no longer absorb any more moisture. after seeing other reviewer images, i think a commonly overlooked component is drying the desiccant itself before putting it into use in the drybox. simply emptying the beads onto a paper plate and microwaveing them on defrost for 9 minutes works very well and can be repeated as needed for the life of the drybox. additionally this system works best when you remove the drybox from the drying station and cap the drybox after a drying cycle, it does not have a air tight seal to the drying station and leaving it sitting on the dock permits moist air to seep back into the container as it cools. Above i have a comparison of two dryboxes set up 1 day apart, you can easily tell which one i dried the desiccant in before hand and which one i just put together and put on the dryer. My my minor critiques are that the system does not have a rear facing port so if you have your set up like mine your moisture gage will be facing away from the front of the machine. The dryboxes come with a length of PTFE tubing but its a larger diameter than what most machines use so if you want to connect your drybox directly to your printer you will need to supply your own tubing i'd also like to see a future revision with a spot for additional desiccant beads in the rear of the drybox. Overall i highly recommend this system if you can live with or work around the noise issue.

Very Cool Dry Box
Just got it but very impressed! The Good * Very sturdy construction * Sits flat * Grippy feet - doesn't slide around (Excellent!) * Super strong gasket seal * Bearings seem great, rolls very smooth * Included bar just in case spool is damaged (so you wouldn't be able to use bearings) this bar has a guide that it sits on - super nice * Included reusable moisture beads (more environmentally sound, less trash) * Humidity readout * Excellent packing (all cardboard and only 2 plastic bags total, one of which is reusable) * Ready for their dry base module The Not So Good Honestly the only thing I can complain about is they give you a teflon/bowden tube but it is really thick and won't fit any 3D printer I know of. Overall pretty minor complaint but I can't use this tube so it becomes trash. My Suggestions for improvement * Swap to commonly used teflon/bowden tube sizes and up to 18" to 1 meter in length * Make these dry boxes stackable (that would be super convienent! Other than epic job, these things are great!

Expensive but works well
The PolyDryer system has become my go-to for keeping my filament dry. It’s convenient, works well, and there’s lots of add-ons to print for the system. My only complaint is the price, while it is convenient to be able to dry your filament and keep your spills within its own dry box, these are quite expensive compared to making your own with cereal containers. I try to buy these when they’re on sale, and aside from the price, these are my recommendation anytime someone asks for suggestions on a drying system.

High quality, thoughtfully design container loaded with features and a beautiful aesthetic
Really love the design of this filament holder. The plastic is very sturdy and feels like it would survive a drop and the front screen is really helpful to monitor the dryness of your filament. The addition of the through holes with gaskets and roller bar are there so that you can use this to feed your printer directly, something that seems really helpful for printers without an AMS. I haven't tried the dyer attachment but there are vent holes on the bottom of the container with rubber gaskets as well. It's nice to be able to see the color indicator of the desiccant and to be able to use commodity silica with indicator but filling the bin can be a little messy if you're not careful. In a future revision, it would be great if the containers could be designed to click into one another so they could be stacked.

Best deal
I love this, works awsome, snaps right and came with the pod for desicant, filiment rolls easy and maintained humidity levels and temp perfect. For one of the cheapest boxes I could find is one of the best

Good product if they fix the latch problem.
It is a nice product that is almost well engineered. If it wasn’t for the latches I would give it 4 stars if it wasn’t for the latches. If you buy one make sure you have a hammer and crowbar to open and close the latches . I ended up cutting down the latch ridge until I could operate by hand. My guess is the gasket on the lid is harder or thicker than intended and requires too much force to operate the latch. If they resolve that issue, it is a great product.

High-quality filament storage box
Very well-built and thoughtfully designed. The box seals tightly, feels sturdy, and keeps filament reliably dry. The spool runs smoothly, and the viewing window is a nice touch to quickly check how much is left. I especially like that you can feed the filament directly from the box — no rewinding or mess. It also looks great and fits nicely into a printer setup. One star off because the price is a bit on the high side. Otherwise, it’s an easy recommendation for anyone who values clean, dry filament storage.

Efficient at keeping filament dry and workable post dehydrating. Excellent Product!!!!
Outstanding product. Packaged very well and secure for shipping. Printing mostly PETG, they keep my filament in a perfectly workable state after dehydrating. The digital hygrometer is very responsive and accurate enough for the use case give or take 1-5%. They are nice and compact fitting nicely on shelving for storage. I am a little worried about the clamping sides as they are slightly tough to snap on and engage. Putting the lid on slightly wrong may result in breaking those clamps. I would keep an eye on this. The filament holes on the top and front are great for their use case. I look forward to purchasing more of these as my color library continues to grow. Highly recommended 5 Stars.
