We purchased this to replace our John Lewis own-brand espresso machine, which refused to pump any milk through, and was a very basic machine. We were slightly hesitant about getting a machine with a steam arm, as we are not skilled baristas. That said, it is incredibly simple to use. We don't know whether we have made a cappuccino, latte or flat white, however it is is a nice, frothy coffee. And the drinks are piping hot from it. The functionality is good. You can make espressos or longer coffees. For each of these, you can choose whether to make one or two simultaneously. You also can choose the strength and the size of the drink, which it remembers even after the machine has been unplugged. The bean storage is a good size, once filled it lasts a reasonable amount of time. You can adjust the fineness of the grind inside the bean storage as well, allowing for a finer or coarser grind in your drink. That said, given that it's inside the machine, it is more challenging to change this when full of coffee beans. There is a separate compartment (and measuring spoon) for using ground coffee, rather than beans. This is helpful when someone has a particular coffee preference. All waste is stored inside the machine in a little box. Everything is easy to clean, and the booklet contains clear guidance on how often to clean and lubricate the machine. All-in-all, a good coffee machine, especially for the money.

The filter lasted two months and had to be replaced. Couldn't get original ones as out of stock so bought Amazons Choice ones. It leaks everywhere. Pour water into the water chamber and it pours out of the back. It's absolutely hopeless. Called support and they said it was "meant to leak into the tray and it is normal". They blamed me for not getting the right filter but they recommend the ones I bought!!! Buy a jar of nescafe and save yourselves a lot of messing about and cleaning up. Absolute pile of junk

I read the reviews for this before buying, so to address some of the negatives, 1. Water tank - not massive but it does the job 2. Coffee strength - agreed, single expresso shot in a cup isn’t as strong as the same amount of coffee from a more traditional expresso maker, but the work around, select double expresso and use a smaller cup selection (you can set cup size), yes you use twice as much coffee, but when you get your head back on you’ll either accept or compromise. What’s to like - you can set expresso or regular coffee cup. You can set cup size. You can select single or double drink. Cleaning up the grounds is so simple it’s untrue. Looks good on the counter. Can select grind level or use pre-ground coffee. What’s to dislike - the clean cycle, every time you power up the machine it does a clean cycle, wastes water, but you can live with it. No warning “out of coffee beans”, but you can live with it. Waste coffee alert seems to be a timer/counter rather than a sensor, so expect alerts to an empty waste coffee container on occasion. Overall, A very good price for a bean to cup coffee machine that seems to do the job. Only had it for two weeks so let’s see how reliable it is long term.

I have hospitality background. I know how to make my coffee! I was buying my latte every morning 5 times a week! That makes at least £800 a year!!! And some times when baristas in rush can make tasteless cold coffee! Very easy to set up, lots of videos on YouTube. Very easy to keep clean and maintain. Very easy to use. Heats up very quick! And making really good espresso!! How do you steam your milk and what type of coffee beans you buy is up to you!! This is says just 2 coffee settings!! And for me more than enough to make any coffee I want!!! ;) perfect size for my kitchen worktop. If you are drinking coffee every morning this machine will save you lots of money!!

I bought this a few months ago to replace an old pod machine, and wanted to be a little more environmentally friendly without sacrificing good coffee. Decided to go for this and glad I did, the whole family use this now. Switch it on as you walk into the kitchen and less than a minute it’s up to temperature, press button of your choice and a minute later you have a wonderful black coffee to add milk if you wish. Very easy to use, it even automatically pre wets the coffee before dispensing. It’s easy to clean with plenty of warning to remind you to empty the basket or refill the water jug (holds about 3 mugs) coffee been stay fresh in the hopper on top and if you want to have a different coffee, you can add ground coffee for a one off mug full. Although standard coffee is our usual tipple, we have had espressos and experimented with cappuccinos and lattes.. well needs a bit of practice but good enough , Only thing, make sure you either have a mug or a small jug under the taps when switching on and off as it does cycle hot water through to clean it, I use a little milk jug ( bought one for frothing milks) and leave it under there all the time, or put mug under to warm the mug up 1st.
