Life-changing earbuds! (POV: musician)
After my old earbuds stopped working, I did some research and opted to give these a go. I was considering going for the more expensive ones, above the 2(a); but, given my varied past experiences with other brands, I chose to test out the more affordable 2(a) first. Long story short, I’m mind-blown! As a musician, I’m astounded by Nothing’s top-tier functions. First, compared to previous earbuds that I’ve owned, from Sennheiser to Bose to JBL, these offer an exceptional music-listening experience for the relative low cost. I’d put these just behind—if not, on par—with those priced at +£200. Second, my biggest pet peeve across all previous brands were connectivity and latency issues. With the 2(a), say goodbye to that! These stay connected consistently, without falling out, even at a distance. (I’ve sometimes been two rooms apart from the connected device, and the sound quality has remained exceptional, no latency issues.) Third, these earbuds stay super-comfortable after long use. The noise cancellation is so soothing, I often keep them on even when I’m not listening to anything. (I highly recommend them to anyone who’s neurodivergent: ADHD, autism/ASD etc.) Fourth, the set-up is extremely easy (no loud connexion/disconnexion noise), and you can customise your audio experience through the mobile Nothing app. Your custom settings will carry on across all devices, unless you choose to change those settings later. If I really had to look for something to critique, I’d say the battery: I do wish that it lasted a little bit longer. That being said, though, the earbuds do recharge really quickly! So, it’s a really quick fix. Altogether, as a musician, I’m beyond impressed by these earbuds. I’ve had friends and family ask me for recommendations. Now, I know what I’d recommend in a heat beat: the Nothing 2(a). They’re top-tier!

Great sound quality, and good ANC!
Pros: App is very well designed and useful. They are stylish and look nice on, charging case is a nice size and again is a stylish design. Sound quality is great for me with options to increase or reduce bass. ANC is very good for this price point, sufficient to drown out background noise. I don’t use them for hours on end so can’t really comment on battery life but it seems fine and the case holds extra battery life. Also has wireless charging which is great! They are very comfortable for moderate use, when worn for over an hour I start to get a little bit of ear fatigue but that’s the same with all in-ear buds. You get three sizes of tips included, medium is best fit for me. They connected easily to my iPhone and AppleTV. You can actually connect to multiple devices at once through the app. Cons: I suppose they are a little pricey for a brand that is not a market leader like Apple or Bose etc. Personalised sound feature is fine for music but sounds bizarre when watching videos (tried two movies), I had to switch it off (which fixed the issue) as it was making a strange interference sound. I’m not keen on the ‘in-ear recognition’ feature as sound stops playing when just ONE earbud is removed, I’d prefer it to be activated when BOTH are removed, that said you can disable this feature in the app so I’ve done that. Also I’m not keen on the tap controls, they are a little temperamental and tricky to get the hang of (they can be amended in the app but not entirely, there are limits).

Great, but ANC needs to not turn off and on unexpectedly.
ANC needs work, keeps turning off and on but good when it works. Good sound, nice looking. Oversized charging case. Custom controls need more options, weirdly limited. Pinch setting awkward to use and sometimes doesn’t respond. Good value for money on sale. Good battery.

Honest review
Some of the best earphones I've had. The connectivity to devices is seamless and I would say that's its welm worth the money especially if they are on discount. I would say they're just right for me in terms of weight but that's up to personal preference. I would say thst the weakest part of these earphones is the noise cancelling it doesn't dull everything out if that's what your looking then I wouldn't recommend these. I've not had these long but as of far there are. O issues and that the charging is great and very good id you like bass.

Do not buy these if duel connectivity and battery life are important to you.
Ended up having to return these. Easier if I just paste the email I sent to customer support, where I recieve basically no help. Also I just want to reiterate how BAD the duel connectivity and the battery life is. This is after I turned on the Duel Connectivy function in the app, just so frustratingly useless. Anyway. Email below: hi there what is the best way to get in contact with support? I have tried the support page but i think iv reached the character limit. Sep 20, 2025, 05:16 GMT+5:30 Hi there, I recently (last week) purchased a pair of Ear (a) buds from Amazon. (Model: B162). I'm contacting you from Australia. Nothing X app Version 3.4.6. I have had a fair amount of issues with these earbuds so far, and I'm not quite sure if these issues are just part of the product or if I have received a faulty pair. For context, this is my first purchase from Nothing, having admired the vision of the brand for some time. Not being a fan of overpriced tech such as Airpods, for the last two years I've been using Earfun buds. I have had two sets of Earfuns, each lasting about a year before one bud stopped working, but while they worked, I have to say they were pretty much faultless in terms of what to expect at this price point of the earbud market, and free of the issues I’m now experiencing with the Nothing (a). But despite the Nothing buds costing far more than the Earfuns, the brand’s stated focus on sustainability (rather than throwing away a pair every year) and innovation made the extra cost to switch brands seem worthwhile. Now onto the issues I'm having with the Noting (a)'s. As I mentioned, I'm really hoping that this is just a faulty pair and not just how the product functions. I also want to reiterate, I was having none of these issues with the Earfuns. So the issues that mention paired devices cannot be put down to the other device being the problem. That is not the case. I have also used my wife’s Bose headphones on these other devices from time to time and have also had none of the issues I'm about to list. 1) Connecting to and switching between devices: I have an iPhone 15 and an Asus laptop running Windows 11. For some reason the Nothing (a)'s isn't able to seamlessly connect between these two devices. If they are connected to my phone but I want to listen to something on my computer, I have to manually reconnect the bluetooth to my computer every time, and vice versa. This is especially frustrating if I'm working at my computer with my earbuds in and connected to my computer, but then receive a phone call and am not able to take the call immediately on my Nothing (a)s. A huge issue for me. 2) Connecting time: This isn't an issue with my phone, but when I do connect to my computer it takes sometimes up to a minute to actually connect. I can be playing something with audio on the computer, hit connect on bluetooth and hear the connection ping in my Nothing (a)s, yet the audio will keep playing from my computer for sometimes up to one minute (I've timed it). Again, this is not really acceptable especially given I use these headphones in a crowded office environment and to take online meetings with. There have been times when I have received unscheduled video calls on my laptop in the office and I had to sit there staring at the client, asking them not to speak yet so as not to risk others overhearing sensitive information, so that we can both wait (which feels like an eternity in situations like this) until my Nothing (a)s connect. It feels extremely unprofessional and quite frankly highly embarrassing. 3) Battery life: Earfun 4 stated battery time: 7.5 hours (with noise cancellation on). Nothing (a) stated battery time: 9.5 hours. On full charge and with the buds in my ear all day, I have never once had an issue with Earfun’s battery life during my working day, they’ll run out at the end of the day.. Yet somehow with Nothing (a)s, despite being on full charge and having a longer stated battery life, I can only make it about 3 quarters of the way through my day before they run out of battery. The case itself also requires charging far my frequently than I was expecting. 4) Microphone: I'm suspecting this is linked to the battery issue, but far more frequently than not, the person on the other end of a phone call where I’m using my Nothing (a)s will complain that they can’t hear me. This isn’t an issue when they are fully charged. But after 2 or so hours of use, they become essentially useless for phone calls. These are my issues. I will say that I really like the button functionality (outside of them not working when your fingers are a bit wet but I assume this is the case for most earbuds). I also love the aesthetics of the case and the buds themselves. I’m not really asking for anything here. I would just like an answer to the question of whether these are faulty, or whether this is just the product. Because If this is just the product I would like to know ASAP so that I can get rid of them and try a different brand or go back to Earfun. These earbuds are absolutely unsustainable for me with these issues. Apologies for the long email, thank you for your time. Sincerely,

Sound quality is amazing – when it works!
First of all, I'd just like to be clear; these earbuds really do sound good! The audio customisation is excellent and the controls are really easy to use to calibrate them. When I first used them, I was really impressed – they sounded at least as good as the (much more expensive) the Bose Quiet Comforts that they replaced, even if the ANC wasn't quite as good. Two weeks on though and these have gone back for a refund. For some reason the left earbud just would not register that it was actually in my ear and so kept switching itself off. I tried all of the eartips in every combination, but to no avail. No amount of fiddling with the angle made any permanent difference. Sometimes putting them back in the case and then reinserting in the ears would work for a bit, but even the tiniest movement would result in the left going quiet again. A full reset only resulted in having to run through all of the caibration and customisation again – pretty frustrating! I contacted Nothing customer service who basically just gave me the same troubleshooting instructions as I had already found – and followed – online, and then just fobbed me off with 'you bought them from Amazon, so it's their problem'. Not the best customer service. As I said, when working, these really are great-sounding earbuds – if I hadn't had these issues, it would be a 5* review from me. Sadly though, whether it was just a faulty earbud or my ear being a weird shape, I just found that these became a source of frustration rather than audio enjoyment. I have now replaced them with a pair of Cambridge Audio Melomania A100s and am pleased to say that not only do these sound even better than the Nothing Ears, they work in BOTH of my ears! So I'm giving these the benefit of the doubt with 3* as I have no doubt that for someone else they will be brilliant, but not for me, sadly.

Amazing quality for the price
I’m extremely happy with these earbuds. The sound quality is outstanding. They look and feel very premium. The settings app is very simple to use. Some may not like that the EQ is quite limited (it’s parametric) but I’ve barely needed to adjust it anyway because the base sound is so good. In-ear detection is a really nice to have feature that you don’t see often at this price range. The buds pause music automatically if you take one out to listen to something. The case is very light. It’s much easier to pull the buds out than many similar types where the stalk goes inside the case. I’d prefer if it was metal but the plastic feels reasonably sturdy. The only issue for me is there are no touch controls. You can use pinch controls if you set them in the app but I find that less convenient.

Good all round!
I am very pleased with these buds they fit snuggly into my ears using the medium cups that they come fitted with and they tend to stay put. They produce a pleasant sound which is relatively loud, connect quickly and disconnect when removed from your ear. One click to pause, two clicks next track. I haven’t tried the noise cancellation yet but I would guess that it’s adequate. The battery life seems good as well. For the price they seem to punch above their weight. The built in mics also allow for clear phone calls. I saw a comment about the case not looking strong but the case seems fine to me and they have a nice click when returned to their charge ports. Their name: Nothing… shows that they are masters of understatement. They gat a thumbs up 👍 from me. Why pay three figures when you can bag these for £50. If they prove to be durable, I would probably purchase them again.

Love the sound. I lost my Nothing earpiece and got this as a replacement. Will definitely recommend.

Great Product
Direct answer The Nothing earbuds deliver a striking combination of show-stopping design, dependable battery life, and very good sound for the price, making them one of the best value true‑wireless options on the market. Comfort and design Nothing’s transparent aesthetic immediately sets these buds apart and also feels thoughtfully executed rather than gimmicky; the lightweight stems and snug silicone tips make them comfortable for long listening sessions and workouts. The compact charging case is pocket-friendly and well finished, though it can show scratches if you’re rough with it. Sound and performance Audio is balanced and engaging — rich enough in the bass to satisfy modern pop and electronic tracks while retaining clarity in the mids and treble for vocals and acoustic layers. The earbuds support higher-quality codecs on compatible Android devices, and the companion app provides useful EQ and bass‑boost options so you can tailor the sound to your taste. Noise cancellation and call quality Active noise cancellation is impressive for this price tier and noticeably reduces commute and office noise; transparency/ambient mode is clear and realistic for conversations and street awareness. Call quality is solid in most environments, though voices can sometimes sound slightly processed on very windy days.[3][1] Battery and connectivity Battery life is reliable for day-to-day use — several hours per charge with multiple full charges from the case — and fast charging gives short top-ups quickly when you need them. Bluetooth connectivity is stable and supports multipoint pairing so you can stay connected to two devices at once. What I liked - Unique, attractive transparent design that actually works. - Strong value: sound and ANC punch above the price point. - Comfortable, lightweight fit for long sessions or runs. - Helpful app features: EQ, fit test, and customisation. Minor drawbacks - No easy battery replacement (buds and case aren’t repairable), which affects long‑term sustainability. - Case can scuff; some advanced features (full spatial head‑tracking) are missing at this price. - A few rivals offer slightly better ANC or mic performance if you spend significantly more.

Exceed my expectations
I'm going to go long here, hoping it may help a fellow music lover with fairly severe hearing deficiencies. I am 71, and have music playing probably 4 to 8 hrs a day on average. I always strive for quality in sound over features and even ease of use. I am super pleased with my Nothing Ear Buds. IF YOU SUFFER FROM FAIRLY SEVERE HEARING LOSS and have to wear hearing aids just to function as I do, AND: demand great Accurate sound, not just decent sound when listening to music, you should try these buds. So many positives. NOTE: I don't care about noise cancelling. Just an added plus. My hearing is about 30% to 50% accurate on live conversation and lyrics in music without hearing aids, probably 60% to 80% with hearing aids. Listening to music, (which I do daily for hours); with these buds I hear probably 85 to 95+% of lyrics correctly when streaming. I am amazed. AND the sound quality is incredible. Tiny details on light percussion, string instruments, mandalins...etc are crystal clear. But they can rock too. Softer music is more difficult to reproduce accurately IMO. I own quality hearing aids, have a main stereo valued at $15,000+, incorporating a Soundcraftsman EQ 2215R, (used in many studios), and a DBX-3BX, both of which improve clarity and fine tune sound to your personal preference. And I actually hear lyrics and instruments more clearly through these buds than my stereo. These work for me due to the the incredible clarity produced using the included flexible EQ, which is sooooo easy to customize. I guess it's kind of a hybrid EQ in that i believe it combines functions of both Graphic and Parametric EQs. Crazy versatility. Without the EQ, I probably hear 50% of lyrics correctly with these, and that wouldn't be enough for me to keep these. Not a fault of the buds, it's how severe my hearing loss is. It just amazes me that they can compensate for my poor hearing. I have a bluetooth adaptor that allows any wired headphones to be hooked up as bluetooth. I use it with a pair of Sennheiser HD 650 cans and EQs loaded on my tablet and phone, and these buds sound every bit as clear as the Sennheisers. The only slight sound advantage for the Sennheisers is they are OPEN over the ear cans, so they produce a little bit wider soundstage. But i don't believe any buds can replicate that. At least, not at this price. And the Sennheisers and Bluetooth adaptor combined cost me more than 4 times the price of these buds. TESTING I have a few songs I listen to when adjusting my systems. I only needed to hear one test song to realize how incredible these buds are....Lou Reed's, "Walk on the Wild Side" from the Transformer album. His vocals are so clear, I can actually hear a little more tiny fluctuation in his voice, (maybe due to breathing???) than on my home stereo. The upright bass notes come out totally clear and separate; not masked by the base drum, which itself, has varied intensity. Some of the base drum notes are softer, while others are more emphasized and the difference is perfectly clear. the subtle string instruments are clear and slightly more forward than on my home stereo, ( which could be partially due to how I have my Soundcraftsman EQ dialed in). I was not expecting such a 3 dimensional sound, nor did I expect such "space" between individual instruments. Nothing is lost in the background, a testament to both the overall design & performance of the buds combined with the EQ. In summary, these buds are one of my top couple of "music" investments in the last 5 years and EXCEED all of my expectations. If you've avoided buds out of fear you can't fine tune them enough to overcome your hearing deficincies, like me, these might be your answer. My only regret is that I didn't purchase them sooner.

Fantastic Price for Fantastic Ear Buds
2 weeks in... Was very skeptical about buying these. Now I am no audiophile, but I do love music of all descriptions. I was tossing up very much between high end, high price tag headphones and the reviews were very mixed about these headphones. I am comparing these to previous buds Marshall Minor 3, Samsung Buds (original) and Sony XM3 buds. I have to say these probably exceed all of them. Very punchy bass, like surprisingly powerful for buds! It might be too much for some at standard settings but easily corrected in the EQ. I like the fact that if I want bass it's definitely an option. They look great, sounds great, App is really nice and refined and the price tag was great. The ANC is decent enough that at about 70-80% phone volume and ANC on high I can drown out my Gyms rubbish music which was important. Fit is comfortable, nice and light and have not had them pop out with vigorous runs on the treadmill. All in all I think it'd be hard to get better buds at this price
