This cold brew kit is almost perfect! It gets the job done, and the dual stainless steel filter is perfectly engineered to remove sediment from the brew. Pros: - Carafes are compact - Stainless steel filter leaves no residue in the coffee - Spout pours without dripping coffee down the side - Brews strong concentrate so I can make a proper iced latte - Easy to clean in the dishwasher - Relatively decent cost for the kit ($50) - Easy to follow marks on the filter and carafe Cons: - Carafes are fragile: I purchased 32oz Mason Jar Neoprene Sleeves to protect the glass, which fit perfectly! (see photos) - Top plastic lid is not very secure. I've accidentally spun off the lid while picking it up multiple times. It would be nice if the lids had a better seal to prevent this. - I wish there were a better seal between the silicone spout and the plastic lid so coffee doesn't leak if tipped. - Silicone pour spout is quite flimsy, and I'm worried it won't hold up very long.

I’ve made cold brew on and off for many years. It has always been awkward until now. I wish this wasn’t so pricy, but it’s great. The lids and parts are interchangeable. There are markings for both the ground coffee level and the water level. It’s so easy. It makes a nice strong concentrate just how I like it. Once you’re done, just remove the filter by pulling it straight up. Then unscrew the rim and trade with the other jar for the spout mouth. Just wash it out and you can start a new batch while enjoying the fresh batch. There’s very little silt that makes it through, and to be honest I had a bit of espresso fine grind mixed in, so no surprise with a hint of silt. The stainless steel has no taste. It’s laser etched, and very thin. The glass is borosilicate and not too thin. The size is very comfortable and comparable to a quart mason jar, only sleeker looking. I bought this because it has 2 jar bodies. This way you can continuously make and enjoy cold brew.

I've been making cold brew coffee concentrate since 2014 with the Filtron system... lately I have been having issues finding big enough filter papers. During Covid, the company did not sell them or the filter pads, but I found alternatives. Now after 10 years the plastic brew system is bulky and stained and needing replacement with a simpler system... Most of the current cold brew systems are not made for making concentrated coffee... Then I found Shelbru.. .and SO GLAD I DID... it makes a lovely concentrate which I can use in the same proportions as in the past (old brain doesn't have to remember new ratios) and the coffee is perfect!! The only down side is that the jars are the same size, top to bottom, and I am afraid I might drop it if the glass is wet with water or condensation after I take it from the fridge. Has anyone else had this issue and what did you use to resolve this... I was thinking some kind of wide rubber or silicone wrapper or band.... but not sure where to find one... they are not sold at the company's site.

Everything appeared to arrive in good shape. Due to the holidays and busy beginning of the year, we hadn’t used the product until just now (never bought coffee for it). Unfortunately the filter basket bottom isn’t connected fully, so sediment seems out into the main carafe. No way to reach out for support on the item in the app. Edit: Reached out directly via their website and the quickly sent a replacement filter pod without hesitation. Updated the stars as such.

I love the coffee it makes, really sediment free and easy to clean, and works just as new after almost a year of continued use. I have used other metal mesh filters in the past and they really did not compare to this one. Having the 2 containers is also really convenient. The only things that would make this system absolutely perfect: - some sort of silicone sleeve or other grip surface/shape. It is pretty slippery and wide, so it can be hard to grip. - Lids had actually a tight seal and were leak proof. - The silicone in the white spout is not very easy to clean and also a bit flimsy. I wish it was a higher quality silicon

This is a great system. It is easy to use. Works well. Cleans up easily. It definitely changed our life during the summer with a crazy heat wave on the east coast. It does require a bit of space since there are two bottles at play most of the time, but it's totally worth it. Definitely would buy it again and recommend it to others.

I used this product all summer for my morning cold brew which is very refreshing after my morning workout. Being able to start another batch when your previous batch is finishing up is very convenient. I love/hate the glass containers though. They are of excellent quality and it's much better than using plastic, but I do worry all the time about dropping them, which thankfully hasn't happened, but that'd be a disaster in the morning before I've had a chance to fully wake up with my coffee. It does require quite a bit of coffee grounds, but the concentrated coffee produced provides plenty of cups to enjoy.

Wow. This is a great way to make cold brew coffee with absolutely no residue. Put the ground coffee into the carafe with the filter, fill with cold water up to the MAX line on the carafe. Put the cover on and stick in in the refrigerator for at least 12 hours. When you are ready to drink the coffee the fine mesh filter lifts out easily. Rinse it out and put it in the other carafe, fill with ground coffee and water etc. So there is always fresh cold brew in one carafe while the next batch is cold brewing in the refrigerator in the second carafe. Easy and economical.
