These sprout beautifully.
The package is a bit small for me - I forgot how little 16oz bags are! But the lentils are great quality, and sprout beautifully after soaking in water for 24 hrs. I make lovely fresh crunchy salads with these and it just goes to show that even though they're dried and bagged, they are still alive somewhere in there, ready for the sprouting! The lentils themselves have a dark blue/green spotted look on the exterior before soaking/sprouting/cooking, and this develops to an even olive green. I'll be buying a larger bag for next time :)

Hearty meaty tasting
Made veggie sloppy joes and they actually tasted like sloppy joes with these lentils. Don't fall apart like the red and brown ones.

Very good lentils
I am not a connoisseur of lentils, but these are much better than what I have gotten from the grocery store.

NOT DU PUY LENTILS!!!!!!!!!!!!
These are fine green lentils. HOWEVER: They are NOT Du Puy. They are grown in Montana. Du Puy Lentils can only be grown in the prefecture of Le Puy (most notably in the commune of Le Puy-en-Velay) in the Auvergne region of France. And THAT is the reason for only ONE STAR. The package the lentils arrived in doesn't call them Du Puy lentils but the Amazon selling page calls them Du Puy. THIS IS MISLEADING AND A LIE!!! I paid $9.00 for one pound of French green lentils that I can get for $3.00 a pound anywhere else. These are American grown green lentils! SHAME!!!!!!!!!!!

Hard to digest
I tried NOT to write this review but it is necessary. I truly tried to like these lentils but found they just did not digest well. I couldn't get the things to cook the whole way through- always left hard centers. I had the idea that longer cooking would take care of my issue, however, it didn't work. Sorry.
