Why I Bought It I got the Cressi Big Eyes because I wanted a mask that gives me a wide field of view for snorkeling and scuba diving, plus the option to use a snorkel. My previous masks felt restrictive, especially looking downward or clearing gear, so this one’s design promised better vision and comfort. Setup / First Impressions Right out of the box the mask feels high quality. The skirt is soft silicone, the lenses are tempered glass, and the buckle system swivels for easier adjustment. The design uses “raked” or angled lenses with an “inverted tear-drop” shape, which helps give more downward visibility and looks less bulky around the face. The snorkel (if included) is reasonably simple but works fine for surface swimming. Everything feels well put together — materials seem sturdy, the seal is soft, and it’s comfortable on first fit. Performance / Quality In actual water use, it performs very well. Visibility is noticeably better — I can see more below me, which helps when looking at reef life or checking my fins or first stage gear. The low internal volume means clearing water is easier. The silicone skirt seals well on most face shapes I tried; less leakage around nose so equalizing is smoother. However, for certain face shapes (very narrow or very flat), the fit is not perfect — there may be minor leaks around the top of the skirt or between the seal and wider nose bridges. Fogging happens if you don’t pre-treat the lenses (usual for most masks), and it takes a bit of care to adjust strap evenly so pressure isn’t uneven. Also, though the snorkel is fine, it’s not premium — splash guard or purge valve may not be as good as higher-end ones. Pros ✔️ Great field of view, especially downward and laterally — makes diving/snorkeling more enjoyable. ✔️ Soft, comfortable silicone skirt with good seal for many face shapes. ✔️ Low internal volume makes the mask easier to clear and reduces feeling of “empty space” inside. ✔️ Strong build materials: tempered glass, quality silicone, reliable buckles. ✔️ Versatility: decent for both scuba & snorkeling, especially good value if you use both. Cons ❌ Fit isn’t perfect for every face shape; might leak slightly around broader nose bridges or flatter cheeks. ❌ Needs anti-fog treatment; otherwise fogging is what you’d expect from regular silicone/glass masks. ❌ Clear-skirt versions can allow more glare from sunlight above surface. Final Verdict This is a very good mask for the price, especially if you value visibility, comfort, and don’t want to spend premium on specialist models. For many users snorkeling or diving recreationally, it’s likely to be more than enough. If you have a tricky face profile (narrow, flat, wide nose) it’s worth trying before buying to check fit, but overall I’d recommend it — excellent value and well-designed.

Used for scuba diving down to 25m, great seal and vision. Worth the money, snorkel is good too. First use, steamed up, so plenty of spit and a quick rinse and they were perfect!

Works well. Bought for our trip to the Maldives and got to see some wonderful sights. This is my second purchase of this mask,got it for my wife as I was well impressed with my own.

Snorkel works great, but the mask let's water in. Adjusted it many times, but still let's water in after a couple of minutes. Very disappointing as you really cant try till you are on your holiday.

I purchased this mask for my first beach holiday in well over a decade. I missed snorkelling when I was a kid and couldn't wait to do it again. Unfortunately, this mask just did not work for me. This isn't a reflection on the quality. Cressi are by all accounts a very reputable brand. However, I found that no matter how much I adjusted it, this mask leaked for me within literal seconds. I was constantly having to pop my head above water, every minute or two, to empty all the water out of the mask. After some experimentation, I think I have it figured out: I have a wide face and very high prominent cheekbones. Because of the 'big lens' style of this mask and the relatively narrow silicone seal at the bottom of the mask, the lenses extended well beneath my cheekbones, and every movement of my face meant that the seal was lost. Unfortunately the mask has now been used in salt water, and obviously I couldn't have known that it would leak until I wore it. I'll attempt to contact the manufacturer and return it, but hopefully my experience will help others either way. If you have big/high cheekbones, this is not the mask for you - go for a style with smaller lenses and a wider silicone surround!!

I put the mask and the snorkel to the test on my recent winter break holidays and was delighted with their performance. The mask fits well once the straps are properly adjusted and provides a wide view and clarity of vision. The mask’s and snorkel’s quality is also superb and with good care both should last for a long time. I bought a Cressi strap cover for the mask to stop my long hair from being pulled and also invested in a hard storage case which will protect the mask from any damage. I highly recommend this snorkelling set.
