SIMONIZ Satin Black Tough Engine Enamel Protection Paint 500ml

Used Simoniz Engine Paint (Satin Black) to refresh a steel bike carrier, and it performed brilliantly. Although it’s marketed for engines, it handled the job with no complaints—smooth application, even coverage, and a clean satin finish that looks sharp without being glossy. It dried quickly and didn’t require any special prep beyond a basic clean and scuff. No drips, no clogging, and no fuss. The result feels durable and professional, and it’s held up well so far against light scuffs and weather. For a spray paint that’s easy to use and gives great results, this one’s a winner—even beyond engine bays.

I'm working to clean up the ECU/ABS/Relay bay under the tail of my YZF and thought the tubular subframe could use some repainting as there were tiny spots of rust on a few parts. Nothing major, not even bad enough to call minor. So I got this paint to prevent further spread of the rust. I shook the paint can for 2 mins as per instructions and did a test spray onto some metal sheet to see the finish before I sprayed onto my motorcycle. Unfortunately, it just sprayed the propellant and spitters of paint for some reason. It would only spray if rotated any other position that upright (the correct position). However when time came to paint the subframe the next day, this seemed to fix itself. I removed the rust, quickly as there wasn't much, and prepped the surface as to instructions, and the images show the results. Great coverage and flow rate, touch dried quickly for the second coat, even under the bike cover it dried just fine during a rainy night. The bagged cables were to keep dry during the rain and avoid overspray. 500ml for the price is great given the results. I imagine this paint will wear great and will protect my motorcycle from corrosion. I intend to paint the swingarm next to match the frame colour. I recommend for anyone doing anything similar.

Covers well , nice even spray . Time will tell for durability
