3 Months in and I still LOVE it! Great replacement for Magic Keyboard.
I LOVE MY NEW KEYBOARD! Cons (or possible cons): 1. It’s heavy. I am someone who likes a sturdy case on my iPad. I can’t just use a bare iPad and I’ve had somewhat heavy cases in the past as I would rather be fully safe. Having said that, this is heavier than even I’m used to. But I still love it. (Update: 3months later. I don’t really notice the weight any more) It isn’t going to be an issue for me but I can see why others might think it would be. Even the detachable case is heavy because there are magnets in it but that is also a Pro.(see below) Just letting you know, be aware before you buy. 2. No delete key? Some have said that is a con. I don’t know, There is a backspace key so that’s all I need. I mean do you really need both? Maybe a con for some but not for me. 3. You have to charge it. Don’t love having another thing to charge but this might not even be an issue. I read it only needs charging every week or so. If that’s the case, not a con for me though it may be for others. I just got mine so I’ll have to see how it does. UPDATE: looks like about 8 days holding a charge with fairly heavy use which is acceptable to me. (Update 3months later: The charging is fine. I only had it die once. Now i randomly plug it in at night just when i think about it. It isn’t a problem at all) 4. When you detach it, there isn’t a stand to prop it up with. I had the Logitech Combo Touch and if you detached the keyboard, you still had a stand. Not a huge issue but I liked that it did that. I guess I could make some kind of stand to place my iPad into if I don’t want to use the keyboard. I could even make a metal stand and just stick it to it. Hmmm. (Update 3 months later: i use the back of the case as a stand. It works fine when it’s in my lap. If it’s on a table I just put it on the keyboard the way it usually goes but you could also invert it like a teepee and place it on the back that way. Either way, it isn’t an issue) Pros: 1. It’s heavy enough to keep it from tipping over. I tried the Magic Keyboard and it was very top heavy. I returned it. Also, it didn’t have any protection for iPad when detached from keyboard. Even if you place the iPad higher up on this one it still doesn’t tip. (you can adjust the position of the iPad, Portrait, lower, higher) 2. There is a separate cover so if I detach it, it is still protected (unlike Magic Keyboard) 3. The keys feel nice to me. Plenty of room to type on. I guess if you have giant fingers maybe not but I think mine are average sized. Nice tactile feel. Some have said the keys and trackpad are too noisy. I’m slightly deaf so not a problem for me. Unless you are in a super quiet environment, I don’t think it’s that loud. (Update 3 months later: I find I can’t see the keys that well even with the lights. I just bought some stickers to place on the keys that may help assuming they stick properly. i found purple ones to match my keyboard. My eyes aren’t great and the light up keyboard doesn’t really help me see the letters so hopefully the stickers help.) 4. You can actually attach your iPad to your fridge (any metal surface) with just the case since it has magnets. If I’m cooking and need to read a recipe or something, it’s great to attach it to the fridge. So the heavy Con turns into a Pro here. (Update 3months later: I never do this lol, but you can) 5. There is more than just one color. I got Lilac. Thank you for other colors besides just black. (Update 3 months later: It stays clean looking, I’m sure I’ve had sticky fingers at one point or another but the case still looks good) 6. Portrait mode. I can use my iPad in portrait mode. Nice. 7. The price is good. 8. Because it’s Bluetooth, I suppose I could use the keyboard with my phone or other tablet or even my PC? I don’t plan to, but I guess you could. (Update 3 months later: You do have to wait for the keyboard to wake up before you use it so if you are impatient like me that’s annoying. You can’t open and instantly type it takes a few seconds. Maybe about 5 seconds. Not a lot but I find it slightly annoying) 9. There is a cover to protect your Apple Pencil. I like that. 10. I can just put the keyboard in my lap and type. I couldn’t do that with the Magic Keyboard - it was too tippy. Even the Combo touch wasn’t great for that but I could do it. This works great in my lap. 11. Different colors to light up keyboard. (Update 3 months later. I’m not that excited about this but it’s ok still) 12. Function Keys at the top. I never use them really so not a pro for me but maybe for someone. (Still barely use them 3 months later) I previously had the Logitech Combo Touch. I liked it ok. Better than Apple’s Magic Keyboard, but I like this one better than the Combo Touch. However, my Logitech Combo Touch just stopped working after only one year. I didn’t drop it or abuse it. I think maybe an update to my iPad may have made it stop working though I have no proof of that. I’ll check after the next update. Hopefully this one doesn’t die on me after a year. (Update 3 months later: still fine, I still LOVE it, I would buy it again.)

Great case, so much value!
I just got this case so keep in mind I haven’t had more than a day with it. This is the Magic Keyboard that Apple should have made. 1/3 the cost AND it includes a case for the iPad so when you don’t want to use the keyboard, your iPad isn’t naked! The keyboard is nice and clicky, easy to type on, and I like the backlight and the ability to change the color/brightness. The touchpad is small but responsive and easy to use, I love having a mouse cursor on my iPad! (I wish it was closer to a MacBook touchpad because it pushes down a bit further than I am used to but that is really nit-picky.) It remains to be seen how long this will last but the quality is nice. The manufacturer included a 24-month warranty so as long as they honor that, I can’t see any reason not to buy this case! PROS: - price is unbeatable at 1/3 the cost of Apple’s keyboard case with very similar features - keyboard is clicky and nice to type on, backlight is great and it changes colors and brightness levels - USB-C charging means I only need to carry one cable to charge either the case or iPad - feels like a good design, the hinge is sturdy and feels solid nice and the case material is slightly grippy, feels great in my hands with a soft touch - 24-month warranty seems really stellar (hopefully it lasts so I never have to use it!) - supports multiple positions you can use it in, landscape or portrait mode (and there are enough magnets to move the iPad further up on the case if you need a slightly different angle or more space to type) CONS: - since it’s a Bluetooth keyboard, it needs to be charged separately from the iPad, no pass-through charging like Apple’s Keyboard - the viewing angle doesn’t go back as far as I’d like and there is only really one angle you can use this case in, but it’s good for typing on a desk or coffee table from the couch - the whole case+keyboard adds quite a bit of weight to the iPad, this is expected so it’s not really a negative for me - (ADDED) the case makes the whole combination very top-heavy so it’s quite difficult to type while it’s sitting on your lap; it’s fine on a table or flat surface but any angle and it’s a bit unstable More pros than cons and for the price, a lot of the negatives are easy to overcome. If you want a keyboard case for your iPad Pro, you’re looking for something similar to the Magic Keyboard BUT you want to avoid the “Apple tax” — this is a great option on the market. A missing feature compared to Apple’s MK is the pass-through charging. But the trade off is having a solid case around the iPad so you can use it without the keyboard and not feel concerned about dropping and damaging the iPad. UPDATE: After using the keyboard case on my iPad Pro 13” for several days now, the viewing angle is actually bothering me more than I assumed it would. There is no flexibility and it doesn’t have any other angles you can use this in. When you remove it from the keyboard, the protective case around the iPad can only sit flat on a table or be held in your hands, making it impossible to use at any normal angle for drawing or casual reading. Unfortunately, this may become a dealbreaker for me as I like to use my iPad in multiple different positions, both on a desk and in my lap. Which this does not support. (Will update this review if anything changes. Updated once on 11/13/2025 after several days of use.)

Almost perfect
I’m a big fan of this case/keyboard combo for the iPad Pro 13 so far. There are a couple of cons, but the benefits far outweigh these minor things. I have never used the Apple Magic Keyboard, so I’m unable to make a direct comparison. Pro’s: Simple set up, connects right away, and fast to wake up from sleep mode. Backlit keys that you can quickly change the intensity and color. STRONG magnets. I have no concerns with my iPad falling off. Comes with a separate case to protect the iPad when not attached to the stand/keyboard, and can be rotated between portrait/landscape mode. Comes with a magnetic loop to keep the case closed when transporting it, and it covers the entire apple pro pen to protect it and keep it from falling off in your bag of choice. Perfect fit. Very sturdy hinges - stays where you want it. Instantly wakes the iPad when opened or pressing a key. Lastly - the PRICE! Less than 1/3 of the Magic Keyboard. Excellent value for the price. Cons: Weight - this thing is heavy. I didn’t measure it, but I think it weighs more than my XPS 17 laptop. Limited viewing angle. it’s not bad and will meet the need 90% of the time. I do wish it would lean back just a little further.

Great product!
Recently got the new Ipad and was looking for a case and found this one. It is a great case! Feels great and keeps the Ipad super secure. I love that you can detach the keyboard from the case so you can use them separately but still keep the Ipad fully protected. I also like that the case rotates on the magnetic base. This is everything I wanted and at a super reasonable price. My ONLY complaint would be the weight of it. It is definitely heavier than carrying my Macbook Air and that took some getting used to. But to get around that I just use the case without the keyboard when I don't need it so the weight isn't an issue. Would definitely recommend this product!!

Amazing Keyboard
This keyboard is amazing. When typing it has very little to zero lag. The keys are comfortable and very responsive. I like the back lit keys with he ability to change colors and brightness. The case for iPad is good with good protection. I like that if you don’t need the keyboard your iPad is still protected. It fits perfectly. There is no reason to spend 350 dollars when this one is better as it also comes with a case.

NOT compatible with other ESR products!
While this is a great alternative for the Apple Magic Keyboard, I have one simple, but deal breaking issue with this product. I am a huge fan of ESR products, and I use their screen protectors and cases for almost all of my tech. Ironically enough, this has led to my disappointment of this product: I have the ESR Shift Magnetic Case for my M4 iPad Pro 13 inch (the one that I bought this keyboard for). Similar to this keyboard case, it comes with a detachable inner case that serves as an extra layer of protection if you choose to remove the iPad from its stand at any time. This was a big selling point for me, and I have read numerous reviews that show it is a huge selling point for most of the product’s buyer-base. When searching for a keyboard case for my iPad, I ultimately chose to stick with the ESR brand and buy this keyboard, with the detachable inner case being one of my biggest “pros” in the decision making process. Upon its arrival, I was met with, however, a HUGE disappointment. You see, the inner sleeve cases for these two products are tight fits. (So tight, in fact, that it takes a bit of strength and manipulation to put on and take off the case. This isn’t an issue, however, since I have no need to remove it from the inner sleeve, as it serves as the main piece of protection for my iPad.) They are simple in their design, and are just a silicone slim-fit case with I assume a relatively strong magnet built into the back. This allows them to attach snugly to their case counter-parts without worrying about them falling out of its magnetic hold. It does this very well, as I am always impressed by the strength of the hold the case has on my iPad. Both of these inner sleeve cases are IDENTICAL. If it weren’t for the color, I wouldn’t be able to differentiate the two… until I try to use them. Because of the simplicity of the design of the inner cases, I had foolishly assumed that I would be able to seamlessly switch between the Magnetic Shift case and this Keyboard Case without ever needing to change out the inner sleeves. I was very, VERY wrong. If at any time I wish to switch from the keyboard case back to the Magnetic Shift case, I need to pry my iPad out of its inner silicone case and struggle to re-insert the iPad into the special silicone case that came with it. This is a huge pain, and I honestly will find myself choosing to not even use this keyboard case due to the sheer annoyance and irritation it brings me. ESR: PLEASE make your products interchangeable. I have never been more disappointed in one of your products. Your direction of product design is catered towards ease, accessibility, and variety of use. This should have been taken into consideration when designing an accessory for a product that was made for infinite possibilities. I should NOT have to go through the trouble of taking my iPad out of its snug case every time I want to switch between drawing on Procreate or writing a school essay. Needless to say, I am disheartened and will hesitate in the future when choosing to buy an ESR-branded product.

Great Device and Highly Recommend
Had this device since October 2025 and absolutely love it! It is just like Apple’s. It works great and love the keyboard and the magnetic portion that strongly secures the actual Apple iPad. The weight of the device is somewhat heavy however very substantial. I would highly recommend this Keyboard and carrier for your new Apple iPad. It is well worth the investment and is still working well and the functionality is truly top notch! Highly Recommend!

Such a wonderful keyboard! Even better customer service!
I love this keyboard. I’ve probably had a dozen various iPad keyboards and this one is a favorite. I love the backlit keys! Other keyboards I’ve had don’t light up enough. The trackpad is better than any I’ve had. Very responsive. In the past, I’ve very rarely needed to use my iPad in portrait mode, but (!) I have been using it because of the portrait/landscape feature on this one. I really love it. Totally unexpected surprise. Every keyboard case I’ve ever had has been slightly heavy and this is no exception. Although I certainly wouldn’t call it HEAVY. Any extra weight is due to the extra case that can be removed. I wasn’t sure if I’d like this or not. But, I dropped my iPad one day and I’m sure it would’ve cracked the screen had it not been for the extra case. It’s not a screen protector, be aware of that, but it helped protect my iPad when it fell on its side. Since I ALWAYS have the backlit keys on, the battery life doesn’t last long for me. I’m used to that, though. I’m sure it’d be much better if the keys weren’t always lit. Finally, and my biggest reason for writing this review, the customer service is beyond amazing. I have added raised keys to my keyboard because I have long nails and the raised keys make it easier to type. One of the raised keys got caught on something in my bag and ripped the whole key off. The keyboard was just out of the return date through Amazon, so I contacted the seller directly to try and get a replacement key. They responded immediately, asked if the key could be put back on with instructions they provided. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find the key. They happily replaced the ENTIRE keyboard and it arrived in a day and a half. Incredible! I’ve never had a better experience with a company. I’d give them 10 stars if I could. I would (and have) recommend this keyboard to friends and family. It’s the closest I’ve come to finding the perfect iPad keyboard.

Bien. Recomendado.

Well made, good quality and looks great.
I bought the white colour because it was the only colour available at the time, I was skeptic at first but it turned out to be a good colour choice for me. It looks and feels really good. Everything works well with no issues. Note to self, it needed a bit of weight to the iPad, I personally like that too. The quality of the product is perfect and for the price you can’t go wrong.
