Feminism without Borders: Decolonizing Theory, Practicing Solidarity : Mohanty, Chandra Talpade: desertcart.co.uk: Books Review: Bought for sister - Sister loves it Review: I've been reading various texts on gender, feminism, and similar topics in college classes for the last couple of years, ranging from 19th and 20th C European and American feminist schools of thought, early and mid-20th C Egyptian feminism, to existential feminism. This book, feminism without borders, is the single best approach to feminist theory that I've ever read. The idea that there does not have to be a single, homogenous definition of what a feminist is, which is a central tenant of this book, is brilliant. The author starts here and beautifully explores this and related ideas. This book should be required reading for all students of gender studies, history, any aspect of literary studies or the arts. This book could alternatively be titled feminism without racism, feminism without classism, or feminism without religious discrimination.

La perspectiva que propone Mohanty abre un panorama de discusión que va más allá de las percepciones tradicionales de la teoría del feminismo.

New book and reached fast.

Mohanty talks about an antiracist and anticapitalist feminism that felt really timely. She makes a very good case for holding a more inclusive and complicated feminism. This book is very good although a little hard to read as it is very scholarly.
